Maybe another true power tour tournament could be gym leaders in their game state So all the first gym leaders against other to see who the best first gym leader is And so on through 8
27:50 Fell Stinger actually raises Attack by 3 stages, so +150% Attack. It's ridiculous if you can get it off. EDIT: I should note that this is easier starting in Gen 7 and later. In Gen 6, when the move was first introduced, it had 30 Base Power and raised Attack by 2 stages. It got buffed going into Sun/Moon to 50 Base Power and a finishing blow raises Attack by 3 stages.
I tried this same challenge a while back. Rookie is busted early game, use hone claws then Power Trip. Since HC boosts 2 stats it makes power trip do MASSIVE damage. Carried me through the early game for sure
@@americas_soldier1490 it’s because Silph goes a little further than most nuzlockers by not using a Pokémon till it has its proper type or as little as possible.
07:36 Using the STAB move was certainly not the play to go for there, even tho it worked out just fine. Peck: 35 x 1.5 = 52.5 Power Trip: 20 + 10 x 20 = 220 Power Trip has it's BP increased by 20 for each stat increase, so +5 Attack and +5 Accuracy from Hone Claws would've made it about 4x stronger than Peck. That move is pretty nutty
Steel is my favorite type as well. My favorite Pokémon is part steel but also part rock my second favorite type, Aggron. Steelix of course is my favorite trade evolution mon and Metagross is my favorite Pseudo legendary. So yeah steel types are awesome.
I have a challenge for you, do a hardcore nuzlocke but only with raid dens mons, the first time you step into the wild area you can fill your team, but after that you get 1 raid den encounter per gym badge.
Silph could you please do a final segment where you decide which Pokémon was the MVP of the run? I think it would be really cool to hear your opinions and who you thought really carried the team the most, most of all i love your videos! they’ve gotten me to start nuzlocking myself, and truly making play throughs amazing for me again 🙏🏻
Yep he is and while Steelix is my favorite of the steel/ground type mons, Excadrill is a must have because you can get him much earlier than you can get a Steelix. Hopefully in the future though Gamefreak will continue to allow players to get trade evolution mons like they have recently.
Video idea! A randomizer hardcore nuzlocke. You choose one of the randomized starters and that starter determines your type for the run. That way you never know when and where you'll get a new encounter, could make for an interesting run
Awesome run. It's been a year since the last Sword/Shield Nuzlocke channel, and with a type not seen often. Lot of deaths in this run. The end was especially close, but Silph managed to pull through. Really wished to see some Pokemon like Copperrajah and Aegislash, but luck had different plans. Always look forward for the next one.
I'm happy to see a Steel-type run, but it just disappoints me that other generations really don't allow you to do the same because Steel is usually a type you get late into the game.
same with ice for me, i really like the ice type ever since i started in gen three and it kinda makes me sad that its so late in the game that you can catch one
You could try steel in black/white 2. You can get a riolu and max friendship before leveling it up, getting a level 6 lucario before the first gym. Would be tough, but possible
I've watched every single one of your monotype nuzlockes, and just now realized I wasn't subscribed 🤦♂️ I've fixed that now. Love the content, keep it coming 👌🏼
Steely Spirit only boosts allies in double matches, I believe all if not most abilities only affect Pokémon on the field. That's why neutralizing gas will stop regenerator if the Pokémon left the field while it was still active.
Unfortunately, Steelworker doesn't power up the entire party's steel moves, only the steel moves of ally Pokemon sent out alongside Perrserker. So it's only useful in a double battle scenario, though I guess that would be amazing for Raihan.
Did this (and a few other types as well) a while ago. If you want the extra challenge you can pick your starter to give your rival a strong match up. Here you would pick Grass, giving him Fire which would make it harder for you throughout the game when facing him
3:30 Aaabout that...have you seen the recent Pokemon episodes? Cuz Ash's Charizard has been shown watching the WCS on the ranch with the rest of Ash's roster, Delia, Prof. Oak and Tracey, and he clearly TOWERS over everyone there except Snorlax, including the humans. He's gotta be 7ft, at least. At this point, I take the 'height' listings for Pokemon as incredibly dubious at best.
I wish there was a love button. I laughed so hard when you said “what an idiot” because hop chooses the starter that is weak to yours. That is too funny
I've been at home for the week due to having Covid and to be honest your videos have been great to binge watch, and made better when you upload too lmao love the content :)
I always like to do these challenges but with mons that have the typing, so using Rookidee early would actually be banned. Therefore, to make this more interesting, incude the use of Isle of Armor pokemon as part of the Wild Area, and you can pick up Alolan Sandshrew after collecting 30ish digletts, which becomes your starter as this is actually a Steel mon.
Steel monotype is awesome for challenge especially if you make sure Hop gets Cinderace. Adds a modicum of challenge to an otherwise easy game. Or for a really hardcore final battle, giving Leon two high powered Fire Pokémon
That was an intense video and imo one of your best so far alone for the tactics you pulled to slither you back out of sticky situations. I love how you keep getting better
for future runs the move powertrip is stronger the stab peck or pluck if u have use the move hone claws or any move that raises ur stats positively since hone claw raises attack and accuracy power trip goes from base 20 to base 60 and it goes up 40 each time you use hone claws same for if u were to use bulk up or dragon dance
A recommendation for games you haven't done yet - Psychic in Sun or Ultra Sun and Ice in Moon or Ultra Moon (the specific versions are due to extra encounters).
Pokemon say their names. Therefore Zamazenta's real name is Grield. Zacian is Garaou. They also say Bark later in the game so they could also be Bark Bark.
I absolutely loved sword and shield. The wild area, the raids, the story wasn't that fun but the game is a lot of fun and an absolute gold mine for content on RUclips
Didn't think we'd see a gen 8 run again, but really cool to see newer pokemon getting their chance to shine. Who knew durant and togedemaru were such powerhouses
I have an interesting run idea. Maybe you could do a sort of Nuzlock for Sword and Shield DLC content? Like the Isle of Armor trials and the Crown Tundra?
A challenge wear each Pokémon encounter has to have one typing of your last encounter. Example: Start with grass Pokémon. Next encounter has to be grass/?. I don’t know if any games make this possible but it’s interesting to see if it’s possible.
Hone claws boosts attack AND accuracy, which affects the move power trip. Its incredibly OP and would have left the early game a lot less up to chance.
There’s an easy trick to changing the weather that you can use !:) just use a wishing piece & go to “invite people” , then just change the day over and over in your switch settings until it is the weather you want! The whole process takes less than 5 minutes!:)
You really slept on Sheer Force Cufant/Copperajah, using it in my current playthrough. Super tanky, super strong with iron head/heavy slam/Heat Crash and Play Rough, still awesome team with good coverage!
Nicknaming a future Ferrothorn "Nokia" got me to laugh, nigh indestructible phone, nigh indestructible Pokemon. God I love Ferrothorn, that thing could survive a nuke.
Now tyhis was another enjoyable video! I'm doing a regular Ash run on Shield, but maybe after I finnish Normal Nuzlock from a few month ago I will try to do Steel. XD
Hey, Silph! I feel like people have probably already said this, but I'm pretty sure you could have just set your Switch's Date & Time settings to manual and changed the day on it until you got the correct weather to find a Doublade. I don't think that would be against any Nuzlocke rules, but not doing that did make the run more of a challenge for you, so it's not a bad thing that you didn't do that.
Woah I was shocked by you trading out Excadril for Togademaru! I didn’t see that one coming at all :o but then I kept watching & it made total sense lol. I have Sword version so I didn’t know the Ice gym leaders team!
Another great video another challenge idea any nuzlocke where if a pokemon faints the primary type can no longer be used example charizard my favorite faints its fire type can no longer be used the rest of nuzlocke really puts a deathless run to the test since i feel it would be difficult id figure you pick game to see your opions if possible with your rule set
Just wanna say that I really enjoy this videos of you and that it makes me so happy when you uploaded again! Seen every Pokemon challenge of you love it! Thanks for doing this
Interesting idea. I play my own nuzlockes with the rule that if I white out I can try one more time but only with pokemon from the box and new encounters.
I say this a lot, despite the reputation these games ended up having, I actually enjoyed them to a degree. It was a breath of fresh air to play them on the big screen for the first time. The music, the atmosphere and the variety of pokemon to choose from was something I appreciated! I also come back to them to this day to do hardcore nuzlocke runs!

When your of birthday come try to do Pokémon heart gold hardcore nuzlocke with ONLY Kingdra ok 👍
Should have tried this with Sword you missed a chance to get Mawile.

How about anything Gen 7? You need a trip to PokeHawaii after all that.
I would like to see an Electric run in UltraSun
27:50 Fell Stinger actually raises Attack by 3 stages, so +150% Attack. It's ridiculous if you can get it off.
EDIT: I should note that this is easier starting in Gen 7 and later. In Gen 6, when the move was first introduced, it had 30 Base Power and raised Attack by 2 stages. It got buffed going into Sun/Moon to 50 Base Power and a finishing blow raises Attack by 3 stages.
This haha
Double Fell Stingers is op, especially if you're doing a Grass, Psychic, or Dark run and don't have a move good against Bug
Was saying this in my head every time.
I randomized US/UM and got a speed boost Dragalgea with fell stinger and just absolutely swept the whole game.
I tried this same challenge a while back. Rookie is busted early game, use hone claws then Power Trip. Since HC boosts 2 stats it makes power trip do MASSIVE damage. Carried me through the early game for sure
Seeing him not use power trip was bothering me. He literally could have one shot everything early game
I used that against hop only. I relied on body press + iron defense when using corvi.
@@americas_soldier1490
He was trying to not use Rookidee much because it wasn't steel type yet, same with Drilbur.
@@americas_soldier1490 it’s because Silph goes a little further than most nuzlockers by not using a Pokémon till it has its proper type or as little as possible.
The fact you beat Leon with a Duraludon is a slap in the face to Raihan 😂

@@michaelkowal3230 And because Raihan does Gigantamax his Duraludon.
