I have to say when you fell I started laughing especially when you got up all muddy. Most people would have never included that, you are real, warts and all as they say. Anyone who has ever worked by themselves and been determined to get done has had one of those moments. The people who watch and and are amazed that it happened to you are couch warriors. I built my own home, with the help of my brother in law who knew nothing about construction, after work and on weekends. Yes I fell on my butt in the mud too.
Thanks Roy, I was tempted to take it out because it was pretty embarrassing and dumb. But maybe if people see me fall they will be more careful in the future, I know I will.
@@50Acres But then you got up again on the ladder without opening it! That's why it fell in the first place with you on it! Glad you are ok! What you call plywood looks like OSB which is not good with water. Plywood would be better if it is not that.
You are right to prioritize the cabin. When you have a ready base to live in, then you can start new big projects. And well done finishing the shelter in one day!
When you fell, I screamed "oh, no!" I'm glad you were OK, albeit muddy. You did it at no cost to you using cedars you cut down and leftover plywood and covering. I think you did a good job!
This deserves to go viral! I was awestruck at how you cobbled together those logs. However, I was absolutely sure you were going to fall through the roof. You're a brave man! LOL
Pretty sweet shelter to be honest. Most channels all I see is new this and that. Top notch lumber and buildings for everything. Not all of us have an endless amount of money to dump into our projects. It's nice to see someone build something they need with what they have. Gets the juices flowing. Thank you!
Fell off a ladder putting up siding just yesterday. This reminds me of tree houses I used to build out of scrap lumber. If it does the job temporarily, it's a win.

Oooomigosh, Mike... how many times we've held our breaths for you over the years. So glad it happened on a small scale and that you're okay. Whew! And personally, I like the bushcraft look. I always wondered why people put the effort into stripping little trees for structures like this, when it would look cool just the way they are. Great job, Mike!

I could tell by what was happening that your pride would be injured more than your body...I was right!😂 Looking forward to checking out more of your videos and the cabin build from the beginning. At 70 and retired, I live vicariously through young guys like you who are filled with the same passion that drove my business all those years...making something with your own two hands. My advice to you (I’m sure you’ve heard it before) is that when things start going wrong, STOP and take a break. Relax for 15-20 minutes and sort your brain out. No job is worth you getting hurt because you’re trying to meet a timeline. Trust me...the work will be there when you get back to it. It never goes away.👍👍 Stay safe!

This was raw and real and not something something you see everyday on RUclips. This is what makes your channel unique and enjoyable to watch. I hope, as you continue to do projects, using the excavator, we see you grow in your skill to operate it and see the successful results that I know are locked inside, just waiting to be made realities.
