Thanks for sharing. I love the procolour pencils, they're quite unique. Really glad you're enjoying Diamond Painting. There are so many pretty kits, you're doing well being so restrained! I started out that way, but quickly went a bit "buy everything, it's soooo pretty!" LOL! I put them all in a folder like the one you have and just keep the drills in a box - I wrote a quick description of the image so they're easy to find, and I can enjoy looking through the ones I already have. It's a bit like with colouring books, nice to have and look through. 🙂

Those iridescent paints look really nice! I also like the diamond painting folder. I have recently finished my first 30x40 and I didn’t know what to do with it. Like you, I don’t want to buy a lot of stuff for it, but I have a lightpad and also a set of little boxes to put the diamonds in. They are like tic tac boxes and they are really handy, it annoyed me to work with the little bags. Have fun with your family ❤

Ooooh, good choices, Pro colour are nice, they are a bit harder, but great for hair, or anything more detailed. On the right paper they are great. But they don’t suit all papers. They keep their points well, not as much sharpening. I enjoy a bit of diamond painting, I started a huge diamond art one earlier in the year, I think I’d do more of it if I could leave it set up, but the size means that’s not possible. (Once you do a better branded one, you won’t want the Amazon ones, so do those first👍🏻) It is very relaxing hobby. Very sensible keeping small, enjoy it all, thanks for showing us, x 👍🏻❤️
Looking forward to having a play with the Procolour proper. I have 3 open stock that I bought about 18 months ago and initially I hated them, but I've started to like firmer pencils more now so wanted to try the full set.
The thought of a big Diamond Painting scares me... it'd take months!!

I have the same folder to keep my diamond paintings, I order the art dot one but end up returning it, liked that one better, in my opinion you've done the right choice. Don't feel rushed to go to bigger diamond paintings, it seems you're doing diamond paintings for the same reason I am, to relax and enjoy and not to hang on the walls, if that's the case the size is not that important what matters is the process. I now after 5 or 6 years of doing diamond painting got a few larger ones, but have to do a counter 30x40 between a bigger diamond painting and another. I find tha the 30x40 doesn't take to much room and it gives the sensation of accomplishment faster 😂 But let us know when you decide to go bigger. And honestly I don't think you need all the fancy tools to enjoy diamond painting, you have everything you need in those cheap kits, the only thing I believe is a good investment if you are going to do several paintings is a light pad, I regret taking so long to buy one. Have fun and keep relaxing to the point of fooling your watch😂😂
Thanks that's really good information. I'm happy doing the small ones at the moment definitely. With regard to a light pad... I knew one would be helpful the first evening I tried to doing some diamond painting as I couldn't tell the difference between an F and a P! So hubs has bought me one for Christmas (he got a Black Friday deal) and has let me have it early. I could not work without it now. Fab thing.

Yes, I agree about not needing all the fancy stuff. The only other 2 things I have found very, very useful is a bigger tray to align your drills - they are so much easier to use than the little green ones, and a different pen, which is thicker and makes it much nicer to work with. And the release paper has been brilliant for me! I hated the sound of the clear plastic and it's just so annoying to work with. The release paper is great - I can do a bit at a time and I use large paper clips to hold it in place if there's not enough glue left.
@@CraftyColourist Thanks for the tips! I have a bigger tray, a big white one came with my ArtDot lightpad (it's soooo much better than the little ones) and I've also got a "fancy" pen, I got one of them straight off the bat because the pen that came with the kit felt like a straw 😅

Yes to more pencil science and girth measuring 😅 I've only got one Derwent Procolour, it was a freebie, they are a pretty firm pencil, be interested on your thoughts.
I thought the Amazon BF sales were a bit meh too, or is that just because we have everything already? All I bought was a Kipling pencil case, just for all the bits and bobs in my handbag. Oh, and a painting, pen and multiplacer from DAC 🤣
I can tell that you're not even remotely interested in diamond painting lol. I cut my release papers in half, I got them for the same reason as you, I ended up half way across the painting. xx

Yes, there wasn't any fab Amazon deals, although I've always thought the summer Prime deals are better than BF anyway (which is when they know people want to buy for Christmas)... but true too, it is harder to find bargains when you have everything! 🤣

Nice wee haul, I nearly got into diamond painting years ago because of one of our stitches girl Daniel (Stitcharista) you can find her on RUclips she's on my insta too, she has a really good set up.And that's my problem I'd want all the goodies that go with a new hobby 😮 Not buying anymore jigsaws have so many to do now😊 (still looking at Boston or rather he's yelling at me lol)😂 Let me know how the Derwent pros feel was thinking of the last year cant remember how they felt as got rid of the small box i had ( I think i thought they were too scratchy but could be something else I am thinking of? Love and hugs to you all. I am still being good didn't buy anything new 😊 xx
That's why I'm not getting "into" diamond painting because I'd do the same thing... buy all the goodies and then by overwhelmed! I'm happy with my small box!
I tried 3 open stock Procolour pencils a year or so ago and, at the time, found them a bit firm. But now I'm into slightly firmer pencils, I revisted the 3 I have and decided I wanted to try the full set... if I could get them for a good deal.

@@ArtJourneyUK, keeping well, yes! I've gone off colouring, though... I used it as an escape from something but that something has now gone. Utterly weird, because I do enjoy colouring! Been doing a lot of doodling, which is also fun ;)

@@ArtJourneyUK, I've tried diamond painting, but as with colour by numbers, there's no 'me' in the end result, so there's little feeling of satisfaction. For me, at least. I can see how it gets very addictive very fast, though. I AM currently trying art journalling, or collaging, or whatever you call it. Not keeping a journal of what I do each day, because that's bloody boring. Just sticking a lot of things on top of each other and hope it looks pretty 🤣
@@leonnehaaijman4709 that's my type of Art Journaling too. Not into journaling (writing about my day etc) at all but glue-booking, collage, playing with backgrounds etc. I enjoy.
