One added benefit is that critters HATE and I mean HATE mineral wool. Rodents and mice will stay clear of it as it cuts their paws and noses, whereas we all know oh much they love the pink stuff as nesting material. (Edit noses not Moses)

Smart move, We started to finish off our basement, and due to the dampness we are using it.

Interesting thanks, I would use Mineral wool too.
    Also for an equal depth
"It has a higher R-value per inch compared to fiberglass, about a 22-37% higher R-value.
    and
"It contains 70% recycled material, making it a greener product than fiberglass at 20-30% recycled material"

I don't know---was it worth the price? That fact was never addressed. I don't know if Rockwool is 5% more or 50% more for materials cost.

I don't like to discuss prices because they are always changing and I think most people are capable of researching that on their own. When I purchased the insulation, it was running about 20% more than good quality insulation of the same R value. Regarding if it is worth it, well you have to figure that out for yourself. I only wanted to share the product and discuss the differences. I was fortunate enough to find Rockwool on a really good sale.

Yes, given the advantages (critter protection as mentioned) worth the cost for us up north … opinions and mileage may vary.
