- This is the audio from Tarralyn Ramsey's audition at X Factor, but where is she in Boot Camp? Did they eliminate her because she already participated of "The Voice" last year? She simply disappeared from the tv show and I'd really love to know why.

She has been on so many singing shows, won Born to Diva in 03, then was on a side label via tommy Motola Casablanca. Her voice simply cannot he denied. Been following her since her first gospel album! Love how she has never given up on her dream.

I heard Tarralyn say in one of her interviews that Whitney Houston told her that she was the only one that she felt sounded like her

my son recently auditioned for the x factor australia, he sung really well, got an encore from the audience and got 3 yess from the judges and was told he was going to bootcamp! he recieved a phone call from the x factor the other day and they eliminated him before bootcamp even begun, sometimes it just happens, she is clearly an unbelievable talent, sometimes these shows make decisions based on strange adversities, we will never truly know why it happened.
That last run sounded just like Whitney Houston. I had the privelage of hearing live and she is so sweet

Absolutely! This is probably where she made the wrong turn. If she remained within the gospel I believe she would have been very successful in her music ministry by now. Her voice is incredible.... she sounds Alot like whitney, whitney must have been one of her influences.

Tarralyn Ramsey and Sasha Allen are 2 of the greatest and most under rated singers of my generation and it pains me to see them struggle to get the notoriety, praise and fame they deserve for their talent while singers wit far less talent get it easy. I don't understand.

Well, her nickname is "Baby Whitney." The sheer power of Tarralyn's voice was showcased on Vh1's Born 2 Diva reality competition (2003) where she blew out a set of studio speakers. I think its a shame people like her & Sasha Allen are still struggling to make it on their own a decade after that competition. I heard of paying dues, but damn! I love me some Adele & other across-the-pond acts, but we have so many super-talented vocalists like these ladies stateside that we just sweep under the rug.

I'm very upset that she wasn't shown, and yes I believe they spotted her out as a professional. But man what a voice. It trumps everybody on that show. Like I said before God is guarding Tarralyn's gift, b/c it is just too good.

Tarralyn has a passion and a gift...most don't have both to such a degree. It is only fair that she be able to provide for herself and family using it. I wish her the best and hope that the exposure lands her a deal worth having. It is about time!

Some of the greatest people have had so many doors shut in their face, but like the terminator they keep coming back. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger; I hope Tarralyn realizes this! It's that tenaciousness that builds momentum & is going to make her a very bright star 1 day if she just keeps knocking on those doors until they come DOWN! I'm a stubborn person and I wish I was close enough to her to keep pushing her because I would never give up on encouraging her!

Do not confuse everything,lots a things in singing are stylistic choices, some singers like to have their head voice and chest voice very unified,while other singers like to have a great distinction between a heavy powerful chest voice and cloudy head voice.Tarralyn is one of those singers.She has an amazing tonality and amazing runs.Having a great voice cannot be reduced to having a perfect technique and to sound smooth and mellow in everything you do like Beyonce for example. STYLISTIC CHOICES

Her head voice is a lil shaky at the beginning, but that's because of the nerves, not a "lack of control", all her runs were on key and very fast. But I agree this was oversang, but she had only 2 minutes to impress, so no big deal for me
2:37 to 2:40 "RRRuuun" sounds EXACTLY like Whitney Houston, that's crazy.
i swear i remember when tarralyn first came out like in the 90's and i truly thought she was a celebrity so y is she doing all these reality shows...I feel that she has not really came out like she should because she's not sure where she wants to be in the music industry....but i love her like forreal

I completely see your point and I agree. Two singing competitions in a row and in the last she was not even given the chance to be seen on TV. Something must be wrong! Well she won a singing competition in her early career and even that was not a garantee of longlasting sucess so this isnt the only path to follow for her. And so what if she had won The voice, x factor,...how long will it last? She should sing for passion and thank god for having the gift of singing.
Hopefully she will try out next season and will be able to be on tv this time.

Sasha Allen was in born to Diva???? Well I have to say if there's one singer in that planet that deserves to be marketed as "the new Whitney Houston" it is Tarralyn , she has that special thing in the tone that make all her notes very brilliant and ringing.

They all said these amazing things, she was also on the Voice... and yet she's still not world famous. I don't understand why some and not others.... its sad
I watched all of the TV auditions ONLY to catch TARRALYN (because I have missed her on every other show)! What the hell happened to her segment??!! I am also confused as to why she didn't go to boot camp?? Maybe someone can contact her and see what happened. ....I hope she is alright! I knew this girl before she ever recorded her first album, and it seems like she has been dealt a bad deck of cards, because like L.A. Reid said, the world should have known about her by now!

They could EASILY make her another Jennifer Hudson... What I'm saying is.. She doesn't have to do crazy things to be as famous as she wants to be. I don't know much about Jennifer's career, but what I've seen of her.. she's doing superbowl national anthem's, playing in movies, performing on award shows and SHE doesn't act crazy on the stage or anything. And Jennifer's a grammy winner!

I don't agree, Whitney didn't really like to put inflections all over the place, but she could do awesome inflections! I don't really remember where but I think somewhere in one of her 1992 concert she did an awesome and very unusual run for her.

I think producers may have found out that she had been signed to multiple record labels by this point had already charted on billboard and had 2 albums that had been previously released she also won Rnb divas and Tommy Matola signed her after that this show is for amateurs

Simon obviously did research on her. Last year a church girl won, and they had dificult unchurching her. If you watch last night, you would notice that thefe were good performances but no real Tarralyn like voices. Sony is looing for the next Beyonce; they do not want another Lauryn Hill or Michael Jackson who refused to keep playing their games. Tarrilyn is already known, but she wants more fame. I wish she would relax and be at peace with her gift. She is a blessing but cannot see it.

Well, she wasn't really eliminated.. She was more so disqualified. They never showed her on X-factor. Many (like myself) only found out she was SUPPOSED to be on there because of articles we read online.
I heard that there was a conflict in her contract with a gospel contract she had?? Doesn't sound true, because I've followed her career and the last gospel cd she put out was from her own label..

Tarralyn probably got eliminated because image is key instead of vocals. They've done nothing with Melanie Amaro who had a phenomenal voice. They gave her music that wasted her talent, because they don't think her voice alone can sell records, for some reason. They wanted Melanie to sing the same music Kesha or Bieber sings. It's a crazy time and great vocals mean nothing for the dollar bottom line. At least that's what the industry thinks. It's all about the visual and tricks now.
Well, X-factor accepts former professionals AND amateurs, so I don't know why she was not on auditions show. She also shouldn't have been eliminated for being on another tv show from a YEAR ago, if that's why they eliminated her. That is just stupid. MANY people do that... remember Frenchie? She went to AI then the Voice. I facebooked Tarralyn and haven't gotten an answer back of why she wasn't on the x-factor.

I agree. She's such a down South church singer, that it's really embedded into her. Like Simon alluded to, she still a bit too old fashioned. I'm sure that's why she hasn't really made it, yet. She needs more well-rounded vocal coaching. She really has to humble herself, though, and realize that she *can* improve.
Are you serious? Her voice is flawless I literally know of no one out that can even come close!! That was a live performance and she sounded as if she was in the studio!!!!

they always say great singing is old fashioned, because it not what on today's palylist. today music is about what sells not about what sounds good.
I think if Tarralyn was a bit more original and didn't do so many runs, she would have had more of a chance to be successful in the industry. There are so many Whitney sound alikes out there. She does have a magnificent gift tho. and to, there are more than on ways to be a successful singer. Depending on what success is for you.
She is just like Keke Wyatt. She did less when she won born 2 diva and dropped her album.. with no promo she didn’t pop like we thought she would have..all those runs is what people go crazy for. She just needs to act in a stage play..move to ny and audition for Broadway pays..that is where she can get her fame she’s seeking!!!!
God knows what He's doing with this girl. You don't have to feel bad for her; the thing is God has anointed her with her gift (voice) for His glory & the way it looks to me is like she keeps trying to make things work on her own, instead of waiting on the Lord's timing. Everytime she tries out for all these reality competitions, it doesn't work out because God has a SET time for her. There's no doubt about the fact that she is anointed, but it's NOT her season. God will exalt her in her season.
