    Kind of wondered why I was seeing Prismatic Orb & Diamondtina in Citadel battles today. Thanks for the update Rob. As for how to stop such teams, at least Stellerix isn't immune to Silence, and as far as I know, only the Monk class is immune to being Silenced. Double Stellerix, triple Takshaka or even Stellerix,/Zul-Goth teams are tough to beat but it's possible (if you're at a certain level at least).

      Yep there are ways to stop Stellarix and the Wand of Stars, can be a Mana race though as once they get going then you're in trouble!

    All a Cosmic Dragon needs is for them to be included as a Boss type unit. I remember substituting in a Godslayer specifically for Stellerix, only silly me for assuming they were a Boss type, because I didn't even realise they weren't until I was hitting it for normal damage.
    As for Wand, something needs to be done because the CPU's ability to loop with it is absolutely obscene. Last week had a Mech PvP zone on PC and I sat and watched the CPU use the Wand to loop my TINA-9000, with 700 armour, to death. Not a single turn dropped, It's so stupid. Meanwhile, as a player, you're probably getting 1 or 2 loops out of the Wand at best. The developers can claim the mechanics are fair for CPU and player, but I don't believe them.

      The trouble with having too many Bosses would be that they are very easy to kill with Godslayers, as you say - it's why a lot of Zuul teams are easy to beat in Guild Wars too. Stellarix as a Dragon is already subject to 50% Devour chance from Dragon Cruncher which is not bad, but could be better.
      On the Wand, yes it certainly feels like it has been 'programmed' to fail regardless of what is on the board at times to discourage people from using it constantly. Be good to have more 'counter traits' against these things 🙂

    The devs have mailed it in long ago, when Chalcedony and Elementalist were introduced. Creativity has been all downhill.

      Yep. The original Pathfinders gave new players a chance to compete, and opponents had to think a little and use Freeze etc to stop them... No need for that now as the Pathfinders are terrible. Elementalist is no longer that powerful when you see it in the Defence - Wand of Stars is the perfect way to beat it, but ironically, is so good it goes in 90% of teams

      ​@@honestrob I would have been happy if the only change to Pathfinders was to exclude them from benefitting from a boosted mana start at the beginning of battle, in PvP only. Instead, they were beaten to being beyond useless in all game modes. I loved using Egret in PvP, too. Best Pathfinder whilst he lasted.

    i already have a stellarix counter it's actually really funny to use it's Forbidden Tome, steal 60 magic from the enemy and shift it to your attack power and become enraged, if you hit stellarix or queen beetrix with this they hit for literally 4 - 6 damage the entire rest of the game unless they have an empress or some way to re-increase their magic. if you don't have forbidden tome there is a great value version called Null Sphere that doesn't give you attack but it eliminates ALL magic from an enemy which is pretty much the same desired effect. Plus, after having used Stella for 3 or so months by now, i can say that the teams you usually will have any trouble with are Zuul'goth teams. Those are counters and can counter stella, my zuul team can beat the #1 guy on leaderboard's team 3 out of 4 times. I've tested it.

      Haha yep that's fun! Null Sphere too! Personally I'd rather face Zuul'Goth teams than Stellarix ones! I rarely get bothered by Zuul teams due to many different ways to beat him, including super easy Godslayers. I know what you mean though as the attacker, my CenturaZuul team wins most battles very quickly against almost anything 😀

    My biggest issue with the wand/Stellarix PVP is it was getting exceedingly boring to fight it.
    I was having the most fun when the PVP started and we were seeing so much variation in the teams we were encountering.
    Easy fix for Wand of Stars would be to remove the Bless/Curse. It's still making stars but getting rid of the bless would make players actively utilize different troops to cleanse/bless.
    Don't get me wrong, I really love my wand, but it's definitely far to strong.

      Yes it's kinda everywhere as it's easy to use for the attacker - but that ends up their Defence too - which is a fault of the game design. Much better when Defences were created separately! I like the Bless and Curse myself, but just need more ways to slow it down I think. Even just higher Mana cost would be something

    Totally agree! I have noticed a definite change in how effective WOS has been lately. I believe it has been nerfed slightly on the sly. Great options for countering the power house teams Rob.

      Yep it just feels off at times, sometimes you can kinda predict it. Bit like in Guild Wars when games just feel 'off' sometimes - you know something is up!!

    Wand is just so OP it felt like you had to use it in PVP to stand a chance when defence team had it. Remember your video when it came out voicing concerns about just how OP it was and you've been proved right.

      Yep exactly that. Enemy has it. You pretty much have to have it. Very crazily over-powered weapon even though it can mis-fire sometimes!

    The issue with changing teams for counters is that you cant easily change your PvP teams because you only have only 1 slot.

      Yes can be annoying having to swap troops here and there for sure. A better system would have been nice.

    Wand needs a higher mana cost. Stella should do the same damage as Diamantina . Due to its loop potential it would still be better.

    I like your ideas better than what they've done, Rob. And I really agree that the devs should listen to the players more, but players have been saying that for ages and it doesn't seem to get through. Or if it does, they choose not to act on it.

      The Devs probably have game 'balancing' tools which they swear by rather than go by real-world testing, or some other reason. Who knows!

    For 14k team scores being stuck against X3 20k players with wand and stellarix, it was getting a bit too much. Something needed to be done and this is an easy, maybe temporary fix. Defences mean nothing ATM, but wand is definitely op, and not enough to counter them, especially if they have the 50% stat boosts too.

      This is the absolute worst part of PvP for me. My 15k rated team and the game offers me three 20-21k rated teams. With the previous format I'd get a team rated lower, one relatively equal, and one significantly higher. Then came the new system which removed the option of three very diversely rated teams, and worst still, made account level the main factor.

      If you start with Wand yourself, or any good Mana generator and a 50% Mana start you have a good chance of 'getting going' first and SILENCING those teams by using troops like Voiceless Golem. It's like playing a sport against a much tougher opponent - you have to adapt your strategy to have a chance to win - I used to enjoy being low level and finding a way to beat these way better than me teams with Zuul'Goth etc a few years ago, but it's not for everyone and definitely needs tweaking 🙂

    Before the nerf, I was using your recommendation of using Voiceless Golem which helped me a lot. Again Rob, great video thank you again for all your hard work!!

      Can't remember when I mentioned Voiceless Golem (maybe Robslayer), but yes that is a good troop for SIlence - and as a Construct/Wildfolk has different options with a 50% Mana start too, and getting first move means you have a chance! Cheers! 🙂

    pvp would be so much more fun, if you could set up a few attack teams and then easily switch depending on the enemy team...
    I am not just too lazy to switch out troops, the way you have to do it, is making me more angry then just using one team and lose a battle😅

    As a newish player, can you explain why PVP defence matters. i have enough trouble building an attack team that can occasionally win that I have never even thought about defence?

      As a newish player, just concentrate on having a good Attack PVP team - that is most important at first. I like to use the Attack team as a tester for Defence too, as if it gives people trouble it means it's probably going to be good for Guild Wars also 🙂

      I don't agree with nerfs overall, I think it's better to create counters, or more ways of stopping, or slowing down the troop/weapon in question 🙂

    I haven't even been able to get a Stellerix yet. At least months away or maybe over a year before I could get one. It takes several months to save up enough Dragonite to get a Cosmic Egg and then I keep getting duplicate Cosmic Dragons.

      Yes it's a pretty frustrating thing with the duplicates!! It should be capped at 4, maybe even 3 I think 🙂

      @@honestrob I used to play another game with a similar mechanic and it would let you spend in-game currency to "re-roll" if you got a duplicate (with higher odds of getting an item you didn't already have). I think that would be a good idea.

      I got Diamantina a while back, and that took well over 18 months. Not holding my breath to get Stellarix any time soon, although it's easier to get Dragonite now.

    Make Stellaris a Boss instead of Dragon, and up the mana cost by 75%. Never was a fan of Wand of Stars, i find Essence of Evil to be far more reliable.
    Wand should have only the first option, so on a yellow / purple board it won't loop. Maybe a second wand for the purple / yellow option.

      Lots of different ways to make things better I think. As a Boss Stellarix would probably be Invulnerable so cannot be Silenced etc. I'd rather it stayed a Dragon. Silence, Submerge etc are ways to stop it, avoid it's damage etc.
      I actually don't mind Wand as it is, in the Attack team it ALWAYS feels like a risky cast and 'can you trust it?', and on the Defence there are often ways to Silence it quickly, jumble the team etc, it's just I think sometimes players want to dive in with their 'best' attack team and not consider the best way of how to stop the opponent being effective - which is really the idea of the game when you come up against a super powerful team 🙂

    This is so silly it's actually funny. Remember when they nerfed journey troops and pretended it was because newer players don't like fighting them? Those troops would have been decent to deal with these teams. Having said that, some areas have only multiple Takasha defences, or multiple queen bee, which aren't any more exciting to deal with 😆

      Multiple Takshaka's are very common, yes. A way round that is to restrict team making to only ONE of each troop. The trouble with some troops is (Takshaka, looking at you), is that a 'good' Third trait can be exploited by tripling up on it and making it berzerkly overpowered!

    Hey Rob, sorry to highjack this, but I'm really confused by the alliances. Is there any way to see our stats, like battles won etc? Seems to me, loyalty is only based on days in the alliance, so you can have top loyalty and never actually do any battles? What am I not understanding

      I'm a bit the same...i don't know what the buff is meant to do..I got it the other day i thought maybe having done the 3 different things in the area you've been doing you might get something to help you...but nothing..you just that buffer .it's really hard especially when their other teams have blood frenzy..

      Yep it looks like Loyalty is simply days spent in the Alliance. You can see a players Victory Points by clicking their name and clicking Profile, then tabbing over to PVP where it shows weekly PVP battles, wins, losses etc. A player with top Loyalty will generally be an active player to have all those Victory Points in the first place 🙂

      @@1405blondie If an Alliance doesn't own any Citadels, they will gain a Buff that applies to all battle types found in PvP. If an Alliance owns 0 Citadels they will be granted a large buff. If an Alliance owns 1 Citadel they will receive a small buff. If an Alliance owns 2 or more Citadels they will receive no extra buff.

    Easy win with this team (green PVP)
    against most powerfully team, it takes a litl more turns but... : ( don't give them a turn :-) ) : ..... wand of a stars... 2x king gobtruffle... Leprechaun....class-elementalist. Win rate over 90%.

      Gobtruffle is better then Queen Beatrix, it guarantees you next turn, Beatrix not, if you loosing your turn this means by by...

      Yes I like that team and have used it many times before, but if your playing against a Wand team, Elementalist is a waste as the enemy Wand cleanses it nearly every time. Better (for me) to start with a 50% Mana start Class so you win the 'Mana race' of who casts first. If you start with Elementalist and I start with Wand/Stellarix and say, Frostmage, you better get charged with Wand immediately or chances are I am ready to go straight away too! Gobtruffle good for Disease as well, slowing the enemy Mana gen 🙂

      @@midnightcat2905 Vs Wand and Stellarix, King Gob 'may' be better - the Disease he does is good to slow the enemy down too. BUT, your extra turn is gone if I start with Frostmage (50% Start) and Snap Freeze as this will Freeze all your troops - could be bye bye to you! Queen Bee will Cleanse all troops with a 4 Match providing she isn't stunned and can get the Extra Turn from either a 4 Match or the 40% built into her spell cleansing the team at the same time. Why I love the game! So many different situations decide what troop is better/more effective dependant on situation/opponent! 🙂

    Can't even get these troops ..I have wand but no stellarix.or Diamantina..ever time I craft a gem or cosmic egg I get copies of what I already have..getting tired of not getting decent troops and same with chests...I seem to always get what I already have..it's starting to take the fun out of the game....

      Yes it a very frustrating part of the game but very satisfying when it FINALLY happens. Try this little trick: ruclips.net/video/JkKVAaM0L-U/видео.html Apparently it 'increases the odds' so is not guaranteed to work , but worked for me on my last couple of Dragons, and plenty of other people too 🙂

    I am sick to death of crafting Dragon Eggs and getting duplicates. Its not "hard work" its a crappy game mechanic designed to suck time or money out of players.

      Sucking severe amounts of time out of players will make it hard work for a lot of players I would argue! To the point of extreme frustration! The duplicates of this side of things is VERY irritating, and not fun. If another range of troops is created, like the Gem and Cosmic dragons, they have to change this system - it really is bad!!😀

      Yep I'm the same...it's driving me nuts...I have 5 of the garnet one...and the Dragonite is so hard to come by...and I don't like the way in the trials ...you can't even pick your own team...pfffft...

      Yep nerfs are not good. So crap for the players that spend ages working towards getting something 'special' and looking forward to using it only for it to be reduced in effectiveness... Not cool
