Yoga for IT Band Release - Full Class (45 minutes)

  • Your IT Band (or iliotibial tract) is often considered the culprit of knee pain and hip bursitis. The muscles that attach to it need both strengthening and release. You'll get both in this sumptuous 45 minute practice.
    (Please note: the camera cuts off right at the beginning of Savasana / yoga relaxation.)
    This class was filmed live -- there is a little background noise, and not every pose or move is demonstrated as the instructor focuses on a combination of demonstration, verbal instruction, watching students, and occasionally moving around the room, including off camera, to make student adjustments.)

    After all these years on RUclips yoga videos I finally found a fantastic yoga class for my IT bands. I have chronic issues with them, and this simple but highly effective sequence here was just what I needed. Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge with us.

    I didn't have the 2nd band, but this was SO GOOD and exactly what I needed, especially combined with the Psoas class from Yoga with Adriene.

    Dr. Ariele, would you put something together for knee pain? I did not see anything specific to this body part.
