My professor scoffed at me when I mentioned I wanted the form of a piece I was working on to be something like this one. I understood it's got repetitive themes that might sound corny to some but it's the journey Grainger takes you through that really gets to me. The beginning and ending of this piece are what stand out to me the most. After everything that happened, you're taken back to that lower timbre (pronounced "tamber" by the way) that really grounds you and rounds the whole piece out so majestically.
I will always love Children's March.
No form is laughable, if you can make it convincing nothing is off limits. This form is essentially a passacaglia (built off of repetitions of a theme, using variation and counterpoint/harmony as the star of the music)

I love Children’s March!! I got to play this in high school with the Marian Catholic Symphonic Band at the Spring Concert in 2000, I have the recording-what a joy! Thank you for your insight and analysis on this tune and Grainger-a true champion of American wind band music.

This piece reminds me of something you might hear at Disney World. It somehow brought back memories of that even though it's unrelated to the Disney brand.

Playing E-flat clarinet on this piece rn, difficult but much fun. Shame we don't have anyone to cover the bass oboe and contrabass sarrusophone parts though.

That's not really my approach, the full score can be purchased and perused but would not really be legible in this framing.
