LONERSQUARE oh yeah when they do "giving feedback to fans by listening and telling em whats wrong with the beat." NAHHHH NIGGA they just be getting new ideas and making it "better"
"invest into some one locally" Thank you for all the great advice. This has been another very helpful video for beginning my endeavors as a producer, thanks for all the great tips. It has already been extremely helpful.
I've been looking for producer knowledge for a long time...thank God i stumbled upon your channel You're a true hero spreading the knowledge out here Many thanks straight from Mozambique👏👏👏👏
I've told you before but I respect your work man. I appreciate the fact that you're putting this knowledge out there for the people. Wish you the best bro, keep it up!
thanks this is exactly what i need, "information" just love making beats dont care about the money much, if it come koo if it don't whatever but I APPRECIATE THIS DIRECTION IT MEANT A LOT TO ME.
+Curtiss King TV you're welcome, I've subscribed so looking forward to seeing more.. Do you have any tips for actually finding contacts to send to in the first place?
Truth i just invested in my first young upcoming UK Artist! Also teaching him how to be his own boss by running some operations for my Inde Label UK Division. I stress diversity all the time globally my name is ringing bells #johngreasy #Detroit to #Dubai #abudhabi #aue #doha #ggmg #wegone
I'm confused though...If you're worried about artist stealing your beats when you send them out, then why not send your beats with tags in them? So if they really wanna use it, they will contact you and buy the beat without the tags. Wouldn't that work?
To a certain degree that will protect them or in alot of situations get your beats moved down the priority list because the artists has to perform extra steps to use the beat.
It's not hard for an established producer to just recreate the beat's bassline, melody, chord progressions, etc from scratch. Tagged or not, they could use it.
curtiss king thanks nice info very helpful. Im a new up coming artist .. c-rollin artist name. Klearazwater record label..Im n youtube, tidal, spotify, itunes if you got time could u please listen to my songs an give me feed back please..Also i just released two more singles i love to buy your beats.thanks again..100
i have homies that i grew up making music with, love the bros to death but ive given tons of beats away already not much buzz going on, what should i do or how do i tell them to buy some with out sounding like a douche lol
One great place to start is at shows! Search hashtags on your favorite social network and see what pops up when you search #shows #IE etc. The Common Ground every Sunday in Riverside is definitely a place to link up with local artists looking to work! You should roll out!
so i need a beat made but i have alot of input on the style, and its really hard to even perform when i have no idea how to get going on this music career i strongly believe in, i just want to post my music so people can hear me even if its not good. any thoughts on what i can do?
Wow. I just discovered your videos recently and they've been really inciteful. I know this is late as this video came out in 2016, but is it wrong to show an established artist a remix to one of their songs and you add the acapellas to it so they can fully grasp how it will sound altogether? I actually just post them on soundcloud to hopefully get their contact info to send them the link. This way they can't copy it and my tags will be in it. Is this a wrong way to operate? I appreciate the "Curtivation." 👍
How to get a fan base? I mean that people start listening to your beats and get your name known? I started doing beats six months ago, I don't even sell beats yet, but some friends said that my beats are dope but idk I just want to get known as a producer!
+Curtiss King TV just an overview of the p.r.o services out there, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, i heard ascap collects more on instrumentals beat than a beat that has vocals also what about becoming your own publisher, why did you decide to go with ascap instead of the other p.r.o's out there. Thanks for putting the information out there these videos help a lot, keep it up.
Music Dealers closed their doors some time ago. I have no idea why their website is still up, though. They were 10 million dollars in debt. I wouldn't recommend submitting music to them.
hey man, wondering if youd like to be a guest on the podcast that i produce. we had Taz Taylor on there late last year and would love to continue this year with some other dope producer guests such as urself. if i could get an email to hit u up at that would be dope. thanks so much for ur content and inspiration. i definitely been learning alot of valuable info. let me know. thanks!
Your beats? That's really for you to decide. But I would suggest building with individuals that you can keep in constant contact with and genuinely build a great relationship with.
So what are you saying bro we should not send out beats, how can you be cautious while your beats are already sent out, you literally have no control over them. This is demoralising for sure!
I just got 256 followers on RUclips and my music is so dope, I want to get huge fan base who would support me as a producer, what should I do? And what should I do to get a deal with a record label? I use to fight with that since a year.....
Take things one step at a time. You have big dreams that are all attainable, but you have to attack them one at a time. If you want to build a fanbase find what it is that makes you valuable to a potential fan. It's gotta be deeper than just your music being dope. What can the average music listener gain from being a fan of you? Do you want music listeners, rappers, label execs, or other producers to be your fans first? When you figure that out it will help you figure out where to focus your value and what kind of value to deliver
BuzzyBeatz tbh u shouldn't appreciate your own music it's always at a basic stage even if you're a big producer. Even guys like Metro Boomin or southside think that they're music is still shit.
Glad you addressed this matter. Whenever I see artists/managers seeking beats on twitter, I always have mixed feelings about sending anything...
LONERSQUARE oh yeah when they do "giving feedback to fans by listening and telling em whats wrong with the beat." NAHHHH NIGGA they just be getting new ideas and making it "better"
LONERSQUARE why do people send the whole beat. People should just send the first 60 seconds of it with tags and all
"invest into some one locally" Thank you for all the great advice. This has been another very helpful video for beginning my endeavors as a producer, thanks for all the great tips. It has already been extremely helpful.

They can still remake it. I'm getting some RUclips beats made. I rather use my beats. I don't post them online.
No, these days label jack your beats by letting other producers remake the beats.
Great advice man
What about if you send a tagged version?
It's not hard for an established producer to just recreate the beat's bassline, melody, chord progressions, etc from scratch. Tagged or not, they could use it.
Wat about copyright doesnt that come into play
Can't thank enough for your videos!
that happened with Jb ,36 mafia and Motown and funkadelic.
Good stuff man
+Stay Foolish thank you!
So am I completely fucked if I sent a pack of full beats to major label rapper????
what if you can prove you made the beat first, can you sue them for copyright? There has to be some kind of protection for lower producers :/
Excellent game…appreciate this
You should do a updated video on this! Could really help

When sending beats do you use links or send attachments? Thanks
I used to use attachments. Links don't usually get clicked on in my experience.
Curtiss King TV should I send them through email
i have homies that i grew up making music with, love the bros to death but ive given tons of beats away already not much buzz going on, what should i do or how do i tell them to buy some with out sounding like a douche lol
How do we find local artists? I live in the Inland Empire as well. So-Cal Baby!
One great place to start is at shows! Search hashtags on your favorite social network and see what pops up when you search #shows #IE etc. The Common Ground every Sunday in Riverside is definitely a place to link up with local artists looking to work! You should roll out!
I'm late but I live in the IE too do they still do the common ground thing

+TworoboT absolutely. I'm with ASCAP. What specifically did you want me to cover?

+Curtiss King TV definitely cosign this idea ! Also talk about sample clearances . Thanks
I'm sitting on like 20 beats that imo are my best work. I'm wondering where do I find places to submit beats to?
Music Dealers is a great place to submit music. Follow your favorite rappers and be on the lookout when that email pops up looking for beats.
Curtiss King TV thanks for always responding!
Music Dealers closed their doors some time ago. I have no idea why their website is still up, though. They were 10 million dollars in debt. I wouldn't recommend submitting music to them.
