I agree with this comment on a near-spiritual level.
He is certainly my favourite musician of all time. Though O greatly and deeply appreciate that, on his "An evening with Devin" tour. The attendance was intimate in a smallish venue where I got a seat in the 3rd row. His following is cult like and pure and that's perfect.
The following might be cult like, but it's in no way small. ''underrated'' is the furthest from the truth xD. Definitely not overrated, but he's got respect and fans from all corners of the music industry and he deserves it.

Remix is good but original better
After taking a read at the comments, I'll write my two cents regarding this remix and why i think it's the best in the album.
While it's undeniable the whole Reworks album is a very solid compilation of remixes by great artists, all of them remixing one of the greats of music, Pendulum, what Devin Townsend achieves here is an incredibly rare occurrence as far as remixes are concerned: making it sound as if the song was a simultaneous collaboration instead of "just" a remix. In a way, this is exactly what I would have expected a "Pendulum ft. Devin Townsend" song would sound. This can only be done when the "remixer" has the utmost respect for the song being remixed, as well as for the stylistic decisions and aural intentions of the original while, at the same time, realizing the compatibility between writing styles and technical proficiency. This remix in no way feels like "Pendulum remade by Devin Townsend", nor does it sound like "Devin Townsend sings in a Pendulum song" (quite opposite to, for instance, the Noisia remix: it's a great Noisia song, but Pendulum is not really there). Both of their signatures are there in this remix, and are so close together, that you would never guess this to be a remix instead of a full-blown collaboration on a first listen.
TL;DR: It's the best remix because it doesn't sound like "Devin Townsend messes with a Pendulum song". It's the best remix because it sounds like "Pendulum sat down with Devin Townsend and they made a song together." And that's awesome.

And of course I agree with you in every bit, I think - regardless of the fact that the whole album is pretty amazing - this certain rework is beyond compare. I'd be willing to risk saying that perhaps a bit even better than the original version!
Good point. I think the word "remix" is a redo of the original mix (duh), puttin' what the mix tech wants. In my opinion, is what you are saying: Dev did a redo of the song, like if we did a collab with Pendulum, and sounds so good that can make AVICI shit on his pants (?)

Maybe. But there's different approaches to remixing than just to sound like they feature together. I like when the song sounds totally differently with a slight touch of the original mix too. I think your view is quite narrow-minded. All and all this remix is great, don't get me wrong but the point you're making is just 1 point of view.

Dubstone I expected more from the matrix & futurebound remix, its still pretty well, but this remix of crush gave me even more chills.

Never did I ever expect to find a remix of Pendulum by Devin Townsend, let alone one with Devin's *vocals* on it. Fucking awesome stuff.
Was not expecting Hevy Devy when I went to go listen to Pendulum to day. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Just love the wall of sound that Devin creates. I am not one for remixes normally, but this is a dream of a mix.
The first time I listened to this remix, and the guitar melody picked up at 0:24, it gave me the good-music-shivers like nothing else. Then the breakdown at 2:59 brought it all home with one of the most satisfying adrenaline rushes I’ve ever had from a song.
This is world-domination BGM from start to finish.
This one starts with pretty mild changes (which isn't a bad thing, I really dig the original song after all) but the "metal" or "screaming" part is just the cherry on top. Another amazing song

This one works because it's an actual cover (and a great one), not just a guy laying a playback and chosing the few parts he'll deconstruct with weird choices. Thanks to Devin, this reworks album is not a 100% letdown.
good on changing that vocab - cover - not a remix, as we can hear here its a huge difference. Surely he used their samples, but it could be a song he sings and getting the band on stage, instead of just putting his stuff underneath. Sweet. And that Townsend humour at the beginning - started way less dark than the original :D

Damn, when Dev does a remix, he does a REMASTER. The rework aside, the track has never sounded better. Consider this an audition to produce the inevitable Pendulum return. Naturally, Devy couldn't resist his own contributions at the 3:00 mark...

What’s weird about this one is that when I first heard it, it was like hearing a style that I had in my head, but had never actually heard. I was like “THATS IT!”
It was like I had already heard it in my dreams or something.
Also, the lyrics of this song, along with the new part Devin sings, perfectly mirrored a situation that was happening in my own life.
It’s really weird when stuff like that happens.

Best band out there, not only the instrumental part which is amazing in it's own right, but the lyrics hit deep and make sense unlike other bands lyrics and offer that kind of cathartic feeling.

Well this has knocked me for six! I wasn't expecting to like this at all but the Heavy Metal undertones coupled with the vocals really work plus you can still feel Pendulum vibes too, generally this is a great remix! Love it!
