Can You Beat Halo 2 Without Taking Any Damage? (in text form)
The Armory is up first. It’s actually a waste of time to even be saying these words right now as there are no enemies in this level. Moving onto Cairo Station, we get our first enemy encounter. Use the barricades as cover and take advantage of the fact that Elites can’t look down, and you’ll be fine. 90 seconds into this level and we take damage for the first time. The good news is that reverting to the last checkpoint is instantaneous. In general, distance will be our friend throughout this run. The more space between us and an enemy, the better. It gives us a chance to dodge their gunfire and lets us survey the area to make sure it’s clear of enemies.
The other option is to overwhelm the Covenant forces with absurd amounts of lead. Dual-Wielding SMG’s are great for this. I’m not gonna talk about every enemy encounter. Most situations can be handled with a bit of caution and planning. The first bit that poses any sort of a challenge is when the Gunnery Sergeant dies. It’s where we face our first Red Elite. They are tougher and can take more damage than your standard Elite. Once I took out the blue Elite and lured the Red Elite down a flight of stairs, his death was assured.
If you rush in headfirst, the Drones later in the level can be a real annoyance. Sit back, pick them off from a distance, let the Marines do their thing, and it’ll be easy. Throw a few grenades onto the elevator below and you’re nearly finished. All that’s left is to reach the bomb. Lob every grenade you’ve got at the Elites guarding the bomb, take out the remaining enemies, and Cairo Station is complete.
Outskirts is next. Take the Sniper from Johnson, clear out the courtyard, fail to jump up out of bounds, wait around for more Covenant to arrive, kill them, then successfully jump onto a rooftop and a lot of this level is a breeze. Avoid the Covenant ship by running straight for the Ghost by the crashed Pelican. I tried several times to drive past all the enemies in the next area, but it never worked for me. If you saved the Sniper from earlier, it will be easy to kill the enemies in the area allowing you to move on. The Jackals and Elites guarding the entrance to the tunnel can actually be avoided by boosting right by them. The Ghost makes quick work of the enemies within, until you get your tushy blasted by a Warthog and kill yourself out of shame. The few Shadows you’ll encounter are significantly more annoying. Not really hard, just time consuming because they’re driving away from you while you’re shooting at them. One last encampment guards the entrance to the surface. Deal with them and you’re on to Metropolis.
I don’t think I need to explain how to traverse the bridge. You have a tank. You do tank things with it. I recommend using a Beam Rifle and a Shotgun inside the tunnel. A Beam Rifle also makes the next area easier. The Guass Hog is ridiculously powerful, but the Marine driving is unpredictable which isn’t great when there’s a Wraith and several Ghosts in a rather confined space. After about 10 minutes of trying to clear the area, I found out there was a Rocket Launcher on the ground. So, you know, use it. If your Guass Hog is still intact, it can come in handy in the next area. Position it in the back so that the Wraiths focus on people other than you. All that’s left is to clear the Scarab.

Game was obviously set on easy. There's no real achievement doing that... If it was on legendary it would be impressive. On easy it's probably a joke.

When Reach was at it's height I Lasoed every mission for the bonus credits.
The worst by far were the hunters, required me to use gauss hog.

11:20 I don’t think you’re actually taking damage, the yellow energy going around chief is from the teleportation.
You also don't have any damage on your shields when you gain control so I don't think that counts as him taking damage.

No, it's form dmg, if you watched the cutseane the chef got out of teleportation, booed a little bogger, the booger shat himself and throw the needler, and chief took the weapon and aimed it at the face of the covnent, that's enough time for all that teleportation effect to go away

Actually I'm pretty sure chief's shield just regenerates after being teleported by the grave mind on the mission gravemind. I see this as an absolute win
No it's still damage cuz you have to take dmg in this place, it's almost scripted, the moment i saw the title i know it's impossible it's Halo2 we're talking about after all

Not sure how to feel on stuff that is in cutscenes or completely out of your control. The perfectionist in me says no, but then I think, well technically the player didn't get hit because they weren't in control, not sure how to judge that.

Plus the part where Cortana has you disable a couple of generators on the ring, and that drains your shields.
Well, on heroic and legendary you don't have to do the tutorial sequence, but I had forgotten about the pulse generators. I suppose that would kill the run there, but at least you could do up to two betrayals

Shortly after you start on Geonosis you forcibly take damage so the game can tell you how to use a bacta station.

So, turns out that The Armory is the hardest thing to beat. LOL
Same with Halo 3. Pretty sure you have to take damage from Guilty Spark before you can kill him
I'm pretty sure that's a part of the tutorial section that you can skip, but it's been so long since I've played Halo 2 that I'm not 100% sure about that.
@@therealdoc it shouldn't count as it's a necessary mission requirement and you can pass it off as a shield test I'm sure it doesn't actually cause damage technically
Bleed Green
I’m sure you’ve seen the halo 3 vid. But he bypasses it as a section where you have to take damage at the beginning of the fight, rendering it not counting as damage.
You made this way more difficulty than it needed to be. A number of missions you can literally just run through if you speedrunning strats which would significantly speed up the time and still allow you to take no damage.
Examples:
You can get out of the map on Outskirts the moment you get out of the pelican with crouch jumps and not have to clear anything in the first section of the level.
You can do a pressure launch on Oracle at the end with the lift which makes you invincible and so despite getting shot, you technically don't take any damage since your shields don't go down at all.
Also on the Oracle you don't have to do anything to the two holograms in the bossfight, you just camo and jump up onto the purple ship thing in the middle of the room and sword the main Heretic (since you're on Easy) and he will die in one hit.
On Delta Halo you can skip most of the first section of the mission by jumping out of the map and walking to the spot where the bridge gets extended over the chasm. Since you went out of bounds this will also despawn the wraith that is usually there.
On Regret, in the room where you got the shit checkpoint with the sword elite and the two jackals, you can easily skip that entire room and take no damage if you're a bit lucky (might take a few tries but still faster than killing everything) by walking past the two jackal snipers inside this ledge with and overhang and then jumping over the hunters when they come out the door.
Quarantine zone is easily skippable by just driving through all the vehicle sections with a ghost and boosting past everything (the Spectre is actually horrible to use on this level). The elevator can be made even easier by jumping out of the map and on top of the elevator, thus eliminating any chance of the Flood hitting you.
On Gravemind you can despawn a significant portion of the enemies in the first room so you have to fight less. In the 'nature areas' you can just run across the beams above your head and skip everything. In the rooms you show at 13:22 you can just stick the elite or kill a jackal (depending on the room) and run through with no damage taken.
You can skip 80% of Uprising by jumping out of the level after you kill the jackals outside the door with the fuel rod.
Great Journey is ridiculously easy. In the first section you can just hijack a ghost and then kill the wraiths in front of the door or just despawn the everything in front of the door by driving around the wraiths and back the way you came. In the Banshee section you just walk back inside the building for a bit then come back out and all of the wraiths will have despawned. Lastly, you can drop into the boos room from outside the structure and not have to sneak past the brutes into the boss room.
In summary, while I respect you for actually going through this and being able to do it, it was kind of painful to watch because of all the time saves you didn't use. Of course if your goal was a semi-legit run of Halo 2 with no damage taken then all of these points are irrelevant.

@@nexofury4979 I used all those strats to beat H2 on Legendary. You can do it without them, but levels are significantly harder. There's a few achievements that you HAVE to use all those strats to get the achievement.
But that's not even half as fun.

Technicaly you never took damage since it was only your shield armor
Facts
In addition to that, your health doesn't actually replenish. If you are 1 shot from dying and recharge your shields to full, you will be 1-2 shots from dying if you start taking damage right after. Your health only restores completely after a few seconds with full shields. Don't remember exactly how many, though.

I found Mitten Squad about 2 months ago and I went back and watched most of his videos and to see that he decided to branch out and try a different game brings a nice refresher. Don't get me wrong I still love his fallout playthroughs but I would love too see more games just for variety. Keep it up

These are CHALLENGES not IMPOSSIBLE FEATS. If you HAVE to punch enemies only then you WILL 100% get shot walking up to the them to hit them.
I mean technically "unavoidable damage thats part of the game" doesn't really count, so TECHNICALLY the first 10 seconds of Gravemind just doesnt matter because it actually is impossible to avoid taking damage from brutes that you spawn not even 2 feet away from.
I'd say try playing Medal of Honor Rising Sun without taking any damage.

I played through Halo 2 on legendary a couple months back, and to my surprise, I didn't get hit in the first ten seconds of that level.
I was pleasantly surprised.
@@kojikashiin319 I think that's because that effect is from you being teleported there not from taking damage (that or you are invincible for a few seconds as you gain control.)

yes you can, it only took me 1hr 40 mins, i unequiped everything & basically just followed the speedrun route, only parts that were different were the BOS base, as i had no weapon to shoot them with so i had to do their first quest, as i also didnt allow myself to reverse piclpocket grenades. I was going to try it with more challenges, but them my pc bricked and i dont feel like doing it on console. i believe its possible to also beat it without taking any damage, but i good hit by a giant radscorpion right at the start of the run, inbetween yahtzee memorial and sloan. i dont know how, ive never seen them spawn that far out since.

When I play I try to "roleplay" and take no health damage. I feel like that's the most realistic because regenerating health is pretty dumb.

@@Ro-Ghost there is no marine allies in flood levels in halo 2, since you play as arbiter theyre considered enemies. The grunts are the ones that are very likely to die.

No you cant, im pretty sure at the start of the game the guy giving you your upgraded mrk 6 armor damages your shield during the tutorial to demonstrate how your shields work.
You can skip that part, and that's just him testing shield, not really taking damage
