Very cool Seymore to bring Carol Moseley Braun on your show she is a great woman. Congratulations to congresswoman Alsobrooks and Rochester great job ladies. So proud of you
Did anybody else start crying when they heard VP Harris speaking? Also, I remember when 1992 was coined as "The Year of the Woman;" and what it felt like watching Senator Moseley-Braun be elected. Those were inspiring times. How far we have fallen.
You're not alone! Vice President Harris is my hero, I deeply love and respect all the good she has done for the people and for our country. Vice President Harris! Know that I have you and your family in my heart and prayers everyday
Welcome to the Senate, Senator Alsobrooks and Senator Blunt Rochester! A welcome addition to the Senate, and these ladies are going to do great things!
Sure hope current Senators and Representatives are remembering the oath to which they, too, swore allegiance. Amazing to have a President who has sworn allegiance and thinks it is not meant for him. Such a disgrace. Even my five year old granddaughter understands how important honesty and integrity is and what it means. Love Kamala. 💙💙💙💙
Grateful for these black women and all women who cross so many barriers and so much ugliness to get to finally represent us. Still NOT EQUAL representation. A step forward.
Let’s stop talking in code and sugar coating the conditions that’s held us to only 3 Black Women/Men in the senate in the now 250 years of this infant country.
- From the third until the 20th, there will be _three_ sitting or former Black female senators serving in the chamber, by definition also a historic first. - My surmise is that LBR of DE will be more likely to win and serve an additional 6-year term; Alsobrooks seems more vulnerable to a primary challenge - or even a general, in a strongly Republican cycle.
It’s so wonderful to see Carolyn sitting here speaking about the history of these two Senators serving at same time the woman who led the way for these ladies 💙💙💙💙💙❤️
Oh my goodness…I had no idea that Kamala Harris was actually the second black woman to serve in the Senate. This is 2025…it seems like we’d advanced further than that. Proud of them all. I know that Alsobrooks is close to VP Harris. Touching sentiment between 2 friends to have the privilege of being sworn in by your friend. So proud of all 5 women who either are or gave served in the Senate.❤❤
These amazing women are there because this is what we need NOW!! Some things do not stack up the way we think they should, but at other times, things are exactly what they should be.
@@Mike-bv1er you know what a woman is we all know what a woman is if you’re too uneducated to know the difference from a trans woman and a woman that’s not our fault it just shows you can’t have a conversation without repeating the same Trump nonsense
Ms. Sanders has always been one of my favorite reporters bc she ask the right questions. I am happy she stop smacking her lips when she speaks because that was a critical annoyance that some female reportors make.
@@Nini_bats But diversity is a threat to the cohesion of the United States. In a country with people from everywhere the last thing you need is diversity. This country needs unity.
As one whose maternal family is from Berlin, Maryland (Eastern Shore) and born in Salisbury, Maryland and raised in Dagsboro, Delaware and presently living in Millsboro, Delaware I am overjoyed that two of the four senators are strong Black Women. They are going to serve well and defend our nation from oligarchy, tyranny and dictatorship. Queen Esther and the Queen of Sheba are in the House!
the six= 6 days farewell honored President Jimmy Carter should have all the President there, President Biden, President Clinton, George Bush, President Obama, Trump, he touches so many people live America Moment salute him
A good accomplishment for a new generation of people in Maryland and beyond. Maryland’s had a great black history, which can be substantiated. The way in Maryland was already paved by our Maryland ancestors. We have been waiting to move Maryland forward, and go beyond the history of Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, and Thurgood Marshall. The new generation of Maryland blacks must go beyond Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass, the Maryland HBCU, and the over 24 Maryland Black towns and historic black churches. This is the accomplishment the older generations. They must create their own. Waiting to see how the new generation will defeat this unprecedented billion dollar deficit and defeat generational poverty their own in education, employment, housing, healthcare. Each generation must establish their own goals. The black descendants of Maryland must preserve and protect our past, without keep going back to it economically. I wish these women well with all future endeavors.
When the PLAYING FIELD Is OPENED, Black “WOMEN” will be represented in the legislature! Black women are NOT AFRAD of, or INTIMIDATED by WHITE men, in particular!
And this is why representation STILL matters! No matter how much they cry “Woke” or “DEI”, minorities still must continue to strive for their rightful seat at the table. We belong in all rooms!
Thats good!!! I hope they work hard to make sure That Black Americans have our reparations.Just like the jews and Japanese Americans received theirs!!!!
Things is starting to change for the good along side the bad. God is still in charge it’s time for people of color to rise and take their rightful place on this universe. It’s the season for us to overcome all this nonsense. People of color all over this planet it’s our time now.
If they represent their constituents to the fullest and fight for them then it's something of note. If they have no power or agency as the other senators and have to just do what the party and CBC says then it doesn't really matter that much.
Black women continue to be the consciousness of America. I’m so proud for these two women.
