I am from Wisconsin and I have a 2000 Toyota Avalon XLS. I agree with everything that this guy says in the video. This line from Toyota is a GEM ! Mine has 3 generations of owners. My Grandfather owned it from 2000-2005, who then sold it to my DAD who had it 2005-2021. Now, it has been passed down to me. 3rd generation owner. Very proud. ....I was considering selling it, but now, after seeing this video, knowing that they can last 366,000 miles and MORE., I might keep it. TOYOTA FOREVER ! TOYOTA NATION !!!

      YEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH RAHHHHHH!!!! TOYOTA!!!!!!!
My grandma had a Corolla and I don’t even know how many miles it hand. Oh, enough. The AC was leaking, the speedometer broke, it smelled horrible, but ran fine, if not a bit weak since 2 of those wheels drive.

I purchased my 2003 Toyota Avalon in 2018 it had 151,000 miles I have put 100,000 miles on it myself it now has almost 260,000 miles the main thing with this car is to change the oil and the timing belt also transmission fluid basically do all your fluids on the regular take care of your suspension and the car will last forever I do all of my work myself about to replace my timing belt in the next few weeks. I drive it almost an hour to work every single day. You said something about the leather and the sunroof that’s what I do for a living I work on cars for a living I have never had a single problem with my Sunroof or the leather know if you took a Ford or GM from the same year if it made it to this kind of mileage which I doubt it everything in the interior would be broken the leather would be shot sunroof wouldn’t work the American brands do not hold up as well as Toyotas

Dealership I work for had one of these as a loaner car for quite some time (which already says a lot LOL). We ended up selling it to a customer who just wanted cheap, reliable transportation. Far as I know, he's still drivin it! I believe it was close to rolling 300k as well.

Just cop'd a one - owner 2002 XLS with 296k on the engine and 56k on the transmission (damaged when driving through Petersburg). New suspension, spark plugs, tires, etc....with a touchscreen radio and backup camera (which I never use). Paid $2,500 for it and it's AMAZING 🤌🏾
I had a 2007 Cadillac DTS and 2000 DeVille and this handles as good as and it has enough pickup for the highway. Gotta tint the windows and maybe do something with the paint but the paint chips add character 💪🏾
Might have to get something done with the suspension and there is a VERY slight oil leak so I'll be getting the valve cover gasket replaced soon but it doesn't burn any oil at all.
I think I got a good deal 😁 Definitely the Japanese Buick 👍🏾

I have a 2002 Avalon xls. It had an engine swap that me and my grandfather did when he acquired the car.(previous female owner ran without oil). It reads 320k miles. It runs like a beaut!! The only issues it has are the drivers side AC blender door and the front suspension. I spent 160$ on the front control arms, ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, sway bar links, and the drive shafts from the transmission. Only the tie rods and left ball joint were worn out but it still rides fine as is. It isn’t hard to replace all these so I’m just doing it all since the parts were cheap. Once I fix these issues I expect another 5-10 years out of this car. It’s just a fantastic piece of machinery.

I have just agreed to purchase one of these fully-loaded with 199k miles. beautiful condition. The carfax I ran on it was dodgy in some regards, but when I went to look at it and drive it, the thing ran like a CLOCK and everything worked on it but the sunroof (couldn’t care less).
I hated to spend $3200 on a car, but having totaled my poor Lexus of the same vintage and miles in the lousiest used car market ever, I just had to bite the bullet and fork over the money. These days, you can scarcely find anything clean that rolls for under $3k, so I think getting this Avalon was a good decision. Besides, I can snag odds and ends from my Lexus to put on the Toyota no problem.

my grandmother bought an 04 avalon new in 03 and she had it until 2018 until someone hit her and totaled it with only 70k miles. she then bought a 2012 lexus es350 with 17k miles and it currently has 34k miles

Normally a Toyota wouldn't excite me, but hats off to this machine. There's just something cool about that!
My only question is -- if they have multiple newer cars, why are they still choosing the old beater? Not that it seems to mind...

They have a 2001 lesabre with 65k miles. Inherited from granny. They have a 2013 Avalon hybrid with 99k. Trying to keep it under 100k so they can do some trading for a tundra when they move to Alaska later this yr. they also have 4 Nissan hardbody trucks lol.

@@kiwiinterstates3190 yeah man it’s crazy! I think carvana will sell the car to the new buyer at there cost or maybe a little less and just make the money back on the interest rates and financing. Carvana and Drivetime (21% rate for credit challenged) are owned by the same guy.
