Cast Me Not Away (Al Tashlicheni/Yimale Fi)

These two weeks are the modern “Israeli High Holidays”, including Yom HaShoah, Yom HaZikaron, and Yom HaAtzmaut, and so we bring you a song from one of Israel’s most renowned composers. This song bridges Yemeni musical heritage with a western sound world, an Eastern melody with orchestral accompaniment. The song also resounds through the generations: My grandmother taught me the meaning of this prayer, which I now sing with my son, whose Bar Mitzvah I look forward to this Spring. Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom and happy Yom HaAtzmaut

Sorry to be commenting again so soon, but this is wonderful in so many dimensions. Your son is growing up so quickly, and it's wonderful to see a son and father performing together so wonderfully. It's amazing that he can sing such a complex melody so perfectly at his age. I doubt there are many young people growing up in America who could do lest than a half step in a melody. The products from Park Street Synagogue are always so artistically done, All of the musicians are world-class. It is so generous of you to bless people of all backgrounds internationally with such amazing music!
