first of all I want to say that this is the first video and the best of best describing obd2 j2534 never seen in RUclips and internet.
for me as beginner in this domain; I was confused between vcx se and scanmatik2
I was inclined towards sm2 because you will have pcm flash as plus for reading and writing ecu's.
I think vcx se and tactrix is good combination for work.. Or you suggest anything else?
And another question :did you ordered vcx SE with hard driver or just the interface?
Does it require annual activation for programs ?

I'm going to explain the difference between Scanmatik and VCX.
Used for Tuning by reading OBD both give the same performance, but VCX cannot be used for reading Boot or Bench. I recommend buying the original Scanmatik for Tuning ,if you are going to read Boot or Bench, if you want to install different programs for diagnosis, VCX is clearly superior because its drivers can emulate any of those original testers used for diagnosis.
It has licenses valid for 10 years from the moment you buy it, you don't pay anything annually and you can update the Firmware and licenses for free.

because it has a connection problem.It has problems when you read on bench, it is often not recognized by the programming, I have a video posted some time ago where you can see this problem live.
You noticed in the video this is also a Scanmatik clone that I got from a friend to repair. I've run tests with it on a few ECUs and it's never had a connection problem. It is much superior to this PCMtuner and is 200 euros, so 400 euros cheaper than this one.
how is possible for this unit to write if the FEPS is 18 v and the car use 12 v(2006 for escape)

I just picked up a VXDIAG VCX SE 11 brands version with 2TB SSD
I am wondering if anyone has experience in using the VCX SE with ECU flashing utilities such as romraider and ecuflash do these program work with VXDIAG VCX SE?
vcx can communicate in bench mode, there are people on the internet showing this
If you connect an ECU that is not mounted on the car, it does not mean that it is Bench. Maybe I'm not explaining well what I'm about to write, but those ECUs that can be read with VCX are only those that work via OBD. If I connect those EcU to 12v and ground and to CanH + CanL it is the same as if I read it via OBD. To read / write in the Bench module You need GPT 0+ GPT 1.

it is compatible with 16 original software used by dealerships. The ones you mentioned are compatible without problems. It is a perfect J2534 for its money.
p.s. same thing on xentry. old cars dont work with j2534
for most of these brands it works on models after 2004. That means those cars are 20 years old. For me it's ok since i have a 20 year old car once every 3-4 months.

I tried with Toyota software and it didn't work. After I bought all the licenses it worked. At the beginning I only had 3 licenses: VAG, BMW and Mercedes. After I activated them all. I think it was a good decision. At the beginning, a full one cost around 1300 euros, now it is half the price.
Another decent ori tool, is tactrix openport, genuine. Its around 200euro, or ori scanmatick 2pro , around 700 euro...

I recommend Dell Latitude. because the case is made of hard aluminum and does not break. They are made to last. Looking for something with i7 Gen3 or Gen4 and +16GB RAM is more than enough. And the HDD can be replaced quickly, you unscrew 2 screws and remove it from the side, you don't have to disassemble the laptop. The battery with 6600 mA uses it for about 6-7 hours without charging it.

if you buy the one dedicated to BMW, you will not be able to buy other licenses.
My advice is to buy the one with licenses for VAG, BMW, Mercedes and then you can update.
You can buy what license you need.

in the internet you have several options with licenses. if you choose a programmer with the name BMW, it means that he has a license for BMW.
If it has the name BMW+Mercedes it means that it has a license for these two brands. The price differs depending on which option you choose. the programmer's license is for 10 years free update

Can it really replace Can CLIP? J2534 with can Clip only works with can bus cars (2006 and above). On old cars it need dos version of can clip which works different.

if you only want to scan then I recommend something cheap like Thinkdiag, Xtool A30M, or Launch. If you want to program then I can honestly tell you that I cannot recommend anything because I have no experience with this brand of cars.
