- Joe Sawyer and William Tracy return in another wacky service comedy, Sawyer as the exasperated sergeant of a GI trainee (Tracy) who remembers everything he has ever heard. Their misadventures include reassignment to Korea, an enemy spy and the offer of a Congressional Medal of Honor for Sawyer-if he can control his temper long enough to get it!

Nothing like a good ole comedy movie 🍿 in black and white
I laughed all the way through the movie 😀
A cute simple film that kept me smiling , no deep twisted plots , just a lite predictable comedy easy to enjoy. 😊

you seem to be uploading many lippert picture movies. thanks for a couple i needed! i have now seen 143 out of the 152 lippert studio pictures made from 1945 to 1955. the 9 i have not seen are the prairie 1947, 2 russel hayden westerns Where the North Begins & Trail of the Mounties both 1947, harpoon 1948, Shep Comes Home 1948, Hollywood Varieties 1950, another don red barry western Border Rangers 1950, sky high 1951, and Valley of Eagles 1952 in case you can find any of these.
FYI in the US Army the Walkie Talkie was carried as a backpack.
The one carried in the hands was a Handy Talkie.

Joe Sawyer played plenty of "dumb" cops and criminals during the 30s & 40s. Nice also to see both The Skipper and Inspector Henderson in the same movie. The actor "pay" for this film must have been the coffee they were served to stay awake during this cheap exercise in mindlessness.
Now we see just why the Skipper left the Army and joined the Navy.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
14:45 Korea ???!!!??? Oh no !!!!!! He just might get stuck in the same outfit as Max Klinger and Frank Burns !!!!

I think the guy playing the captain did voiceovers for educational presentations.

I ffirst thought the 'walkie talkie' was a hand leld radio, I later found it to be a BACKPACK radio (quite large). I don't mind ADs at the start, but every FIVE minutes or so is Annoying.
Thanks for the movie. Really is not too good. Telegraphed routines. Obvious gags and the Sarge who never learns his lesson. Just started and hope it gets better.
