  • This is the Felicie Pochette in Epi Leather (Galet color), by Louis Vuitton.
    Overall, the leather bag construction was great and it's accompanied by good accessories. As always, the packaging was a pleasure. I definitely give points to Louis Vuitton for the attention to detail in the unboxing experience.
    Louis Vuitton's Epi Leather is heavily finished, and a good option for those wanting a craft with weather and scratch resistance. These kinds of crafts will stay looking new longer compared to minimally finished leathers. However, because of the heavy finish, it barely resembles more natural leathers and feels much too like plastic.
    In my opinion, there's not much leather to enjoy in this Epi leather craft. Similar options can be found for much cheaper.

    I love this channel. Holding them to account. Makes us real leather workers feel great knowing we use real leather and every stitch is sewn by our own two hands. Hand sanding the edges down to 2000 grit and polishing to a mirror shine instead of hiding the raw edge under edge paint that’s going to come off down the line. Prestige eh!! Absolute ripoff if you ask me.

    Yes buddy this is one of Louis Vuitton heritage pieces. This type of leather is being re-introduced to us at Louis Vuitton. Many of us. Don’t know that it is covered in a thick layer of plastic! I was Assuming that was all thick leather with the lines burned into it I did not know that it was melted into the plastic, not into the actual leather. Thank you for your education! People need to stop hating on him. He knows what he’s talking about. He knows that we pay more for designer goods because of the heritage of the brands. He’s just letting us know how much the materials actually cost and what the products are actually made out of so all the trolls need to leave him alone.❤

    Lv started as a travel trunk company so leather was never really part of their philosophy. They were always about weather and water resistant so your luggage won't get damaged. Everyone just seem to forget that (and Lv themselves) since they became a luxury brand.

    • @P0SHED
      @P0SHED Год назад +29

      Yeah, their heritage is canvas. But as far as I’ve heard the last couple of weeks - LV are pushing for their leather goods like crazy.. that could also be the reason why they are starting to discontinue some classic canvas pieces, that has been staples in the collection.

    • @sofypi7493
      @sofypi7493 Год назад +17

      They are trying to be more exclusive, how do u do that? Take out the less expensive pieces that are mostly canvas. In my opinion still absurd to pay that kind of money for something that is not leather and that has fake everywere

      coated canvas may be their legacy, but they are moving into more full leather bags. I think they realize that canvas is making things too cheap and accessible for the average consumer and they are a luxury brand after all. There's a reason why if you look at the current LV stores online and in-store, you'll see less and less coated canvas bags that are new styles.

    It makes sense that the vachetta leather burns differently - it’s a pretty much full carbon based natural product vs the other epi you burned - there’s really not a lot of carbon based product left to produce a carbon by-product because it has too much plastic/poly layer, along with the green chrome remainder as well. Thanks for the learning opportunities!

    You're a nice guy and I see that you just wanna build your channels quickly by making 'shocking' type of videos. It's OK. But there is a huge load of misinformation in them. Vuitton is no saint, they are a huge profit-hungry company, but delivering misconceptions and guesses as facts is just cheap, and certainly not OK. If you need help, just ask, if you need education about their products, there is a lot online. Their Customer Service is not the place to ask about the manufacturing process, but there is a huge community of enthusiasts out there who know a lot. And I believe we are happy to help you and answer your questions about what are these leathers, why are they like that, what is the history of each product, etc...
    My advice is that deconstructing these kinda bags as a topic is interesting enough on its own to drive the channel, without bashing the manufacturer or spreading misinformation.

    Subscribed! Please do a deep dive into Hermès leathers. I think many, including me, perceive that Hermès does leather different than other luxury brands and does not cheap out, what is your opinion on it, should we be wary as well? Would be awesome to see a video about it!
