So I'm just assuming that they learned a bit more than just what was necessary for the movie. I don't know about the other actors though (but I'm sure they did learn sth as well)

Don't get me wrong, I thought the actress was terrific in the role. But why would the writers have an "eternal" that is hearing impaired. I mean, it really doesn't make sense. They are special beings with special powers yet one of them has a very human impairment.

Well, there wasn’t meant to be the best of chemistry in the film between them. Their whole relationship is meant to be strained, so it can explain why Ikaris chose Arishem over Sersei. The strained acting toward each other was completely deliberate
say what you want about this film but the cast did an amazing job at emotional scenes. In other Marvel films there aren't that many emotional moments to begin with and they only have like one serious character who would act out those things.
