    Really looking forward for this build! Looks like you will try to only move the chair again. It would be really interesting if you think the motors are even strong enough to move a complete rig including wheel and pedals like in your main rig.

    • @DMAX_DIY

      Thanks for taking a look Deniz. Hope to get some good usable amperage readings this time for all of you out there. @@d_yalcin Thanks my friend! Yeah I'll remember to do the same for other motors I test on the Mule Rig.. I could not find the specs on these motors, but they are cheap so there you go.. This is my first attempt at using AC to DC converters so I need to know if they will pull too much for the 25 amp converter. I'll do the same from now on so people can see what motors may pull. Upcoming episode this weekend hopefully Dave

    Wow Dave this build is amazing ! and the music I loved it perfect choices I could listen to that all day.Now the question of the day,,,,,,,
    Are motion rigs worth all the trouble of building them ? Do they add enough to the expieriance at days end ?
    I know it sounds like a stupid question but it came to mind. And lastly could you build a Mini Bike in a future video ? :>)
    At 14 I had a mini bike chopper I loved but the back wheel was not aligned propperly and the chain kept falling off or breaking.Cheers Buddy :>)

    • @DMAX_DIY
      @DMAX_DIY  2 года назад

      Ok..humblegeorge.. I never even got notified that you commented.. (THANKS UTUBE!!) YES.. YES YES they do.. When I get in the "RIG" it's transformative. like a mini super immersive vacation.. I'd drive it all the time If I could. I'd pack it up and take it with me on trips.. Absolutely the best thing I ever made.. 2nd question answer is.. unfortunately no.. I did have a purple minibike chopper back when I was collecting pre-war (uh.. pre 1940) bicycles and motorcycles.. That thing was a bit dangerous.. I traded it.. So.. I did look into building a motorcycle motion SIM but I'm still confused on how to do it correctly.. so I put that 'thought' on the upper shelf.. Be good.. Be cool my friend! Dave

    Good Day Dave. On this size footprint with those motors, is it possible in your opinion upgrade to additional DOF, ie.. traction loss?

    • @DMAX_DIY
      @DMAX_DIY  2 года назад

      I would say it's possible.. there is a guy in Australia that made 2DOF seat mover with traction loss. I really liked it and ended up designing my 3dof full frame rig in a similar way. Take a look at my newest series.. the footprint is the same but it's 3dof.. I just finished building the TL section in video 6.. ruclips.net/p/PLO8l70qEp71MER1P0D-BBZza_gqzzmgp_

    I built a rig very similar to this with very similar motors but couldn't for the life of me get it to stop shaking. After many hours of tinkering I realised its because the motors turn freely when not powered, so the software is constantly trying to get the chair into position causing it to shake non stop. Curious to see if this rig does the same or not. Good luck mate 👍

    • @DMAX_DIY
      @DMAX_DIY  2 года назад +1

      Good comment Jason. Thanks! Yes these motors and my crab pot motors 50:1 on the 3DOF can be backdriven while not powered. I think you have to step up to a 60:1 motor for them to be too difficult to backdrive. We will see.. It depends on the potentiometers and connections too. The Hall effect Pots create a very stable signal so I hope the seat stays where it's supposed to be. It has before. But we will find out soon this upcoming weekend! Dave

    man i wanna build one of these but i dont know how to weld at all. and i refuse to make it out of anything but metal honestly. because i want to mount a big display/tv or triple mount monitors that id like to move with the system. doesnt need to be alot of movement.. whats the cheapest motors we can use for this.. keep in mind. i only weigh 150 lbs MAX

    • @DMAX_DIY
      @DMAX_DIY  2 года назад

      Hi NoLimit413 Gaming! yeah I was similar to you when I first imagined I could build a motion sim.. Metal is the best, it's stong, never let me down after 3 years in my "BIG rig 3DOF".. I did not know how to weld or any of that but went in anyway cause I did not want to spend like 4k or more on something.. I have a video on 'how much it cost " Plus I'm just starting my new series on 3DOF motion sim for compact spaces.. I'm on episode 3 right now.. lack of weight is your friend.. in both real racing and motion sim racing. I'm clocking in at 200 or 205 .. so you should be able to use most of the cool sim rig stuff like V3 or Heusinkveld pedals along with a moderate CSL or DD wheel setup. the key to the whole thing is having strong enough motors to move the seat frame and the u joint supporting the weight.. Tune in for more.. I hope you can watch my new series.. Thanks again for your comment DMAX

      @@DMAX_DIY any experience using like maybe a way to hang the frame from above as well? as to take even more weight off? im guessing less weight = less power smaller motors and so on an so forth..
      im a get a 3d printer. .so i can mod my thrustmaster TLCM pedals. i found software to control the force feedback on a shifter . using an old logitech flying joystick that has ffbs guts. got the hand brake with a mini bass shaker on it. motors on the pedals. and another shaker on my seat as of now.
      whats the cheapest way to go about being able to learn how to weld i been working with electronics and on cars just never learned to weld. if im going to use metal id rather weld it than drill holes and bolt it together. even tho im sure having some of it bolt on and some permanent could be a good thing for movement. what i really need to know is . whats the cheapest motors i can use and any idea where to get the cheapest solid metal for this job?
      i been thrifty so far. saw a weight bench made of a serious solid base.. so stopped grabbed it. took it apart so im really seeing how cheap i can do this. cause after back surgery failing working has been tough . luckily i saved enough for a while but i dont need to move too much cause my back but id like to be more immersed cause i am upgrading the pc. and trying to build one of these .. cause i grabbed VR headset and all this equipment broken. shifters. a few thrustmaster tx and t300s. pedal sets. handbrake. and i just fix everything and then sold some of it back on ebay to get other stuff i needed. plus honestly. ive been like this my entire life. if i see something i think i can build and im confident that i can build this because i built a prototype and programmed everything im just trying to find cheapest motors that willd o the job well

I did not know how to do welding either so I just went for it.. Now here's some confidence.. it's 120 v and maybe runs around 9-10 amps so if you have it on a standard 20 amp breaker your good to go.. Just practice a bit.. I just started a new series *compact 3dof motion sim* I'm on episode 4.. take a look.. in fact watch as many of my vids as you need to..
