My daughter is a elementary school teacher that makes about $50,000 a year. We have taught her to make the maximum 401 k, save 10% of her salary to put in a high yield savings account. She lives below her means and is frugal with her money. She makes most of her meals at home but still has some fun money to spend with her friends. - Make more money (getting higher paying job, having multiple jobs, etc)
      - Outside of your retirement accounts, also invest a favorable portion of your income rather than spending it
      - Live below your means until you can actually afford things (buy used cars, live in smaller/non-luxurious apartment with roommates, cook at home, buy things on sale, etc)
      - Start investing early on (retirement accounts, your own brokerage account, etc)
      - Learn and research how to invest properly (prob mostly buying ETFs with low expense ratio that follow S&P500, small percentage of ETFs that follow technology stocks, etc)
+ a lot of other things. Like someone else mentioned above, it takes a lot of sacrifice especially for people who don't make much money. Save and invest your money rather than spending it on fun stuff/activities (esp when young) and you'll be surprised how much it adds up after 7-10+ years. You can set aside some small fun money to still enjoy life but almost all should be going towards growing your net worth.

He is the healthiest fittest person I know and I know he’ll do so much during retirement and is gonna be overwhelmed by all the time he’ll have. He goes to the gym regularly to stay in shape, we do family holidays once a year and we always do family cinema/zoo/get together trips. We have so much fun cause (thankfully) he is in very good health and shape. We literally did a 10k race together last year. My mum is similar though is just shy of 60. I cannot get her to sit down and chill, she’s always busy. I don’t doubt that these retirees will be able to enjoy the rest of their life. Thank you for sharing, I must say, Melissa appears to be quite knowledgeable. After coming across her web page, I went through her resume and it was quite impressive. I reached out and scheduled a call.

Samaritan Ministries doesn’t cover any routine wellness care either, but the monthly amount you pay is very low compared to insurance. You should be saving yourself for preventative care. You are able to control what you want to pay for.

Easier said than done. Impossible to save and pay a mortgage on 50K. You can't even get a mortgage. The price of food and taxes and rent and a family, car payments, car insurance. This is not reality. Sorry.

You don’t typically get a mortgage. Usually, you are the mortgagor and the lender is the mortgagee.
