      Hi, I'm from the German village of Aham where Ballistol was invented. Over here it is very famous and people use it for almost anything. You can even treat injuries with it as it is antiseptic. I know some guys who use it as aftershave and people say they smell like a brand new German tank😂😂😂

    Just started using this oil on my firearms that have wooden stocks. I havent seen the "pen" applicator being sold here in the US but I will keep looking. Thanks for the helpful video. Hello from Texas.

      Hi William, I hope you are keeping well my friend :) I bought the pen applicator from Amazon. I have found a link for the pen on the UK Amazon website. They may ship to the US, or it may be on your US Amazon site. Here is the link to it: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ballistol-Universal-Oil-Pen-Roller-15ml/302960939487?hash=item4689e111df:g:wK0AAOSwQwFb7u9c:rk:38:pf:0 I hope it helps :) Have a great day, all the best, Mark :)

      Hi Josh.... I hope you are keeing well. Many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Oilve oil is great to use. I think it has it's places over Ballistol, such as cooking alongside the other uses. But then I would prefer to use Ballistol on things like belts, straps, sheaths etc. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday (I have been at work all day!!). all the best, Mark.

      Isle of Wight Bushcraft go to the Ballistol website. There is a thousand and one ways to use Ballistol. I put it on my auto battery terminals to stop corrosion. Clean the terminals then squirt the Ballistol on them. No more corrosion. Always have a good connection.

I think it's because you expect it to smell like WD40 or something similar, but it is totaly different as you well know. Thanks again Ed..... enjoy the rest of your weekend brother. All the best, Mark.P.S If I ever meet up with you I will buy you a pint of it and I'll have cider LOL.

      Yeah all going alright at the moment, hope you all good as well. And if you're up for a meet up sometime, we'll go for a pint (of booze of course). Cheers.

    Ballistol is basically just White mineral oil with a few extra ingredients to help with corrosion, lubricant, and rust protection. Which are also basically 100% natural. Formulated White Mineral oil. The ballistol company is going to hate me now!

    • @barlow2976
      @barlow2976 4 года назад +7

      Why? You don't list the extra ingredients, which are the key. Also, explain why Ballistol doesn't behave like white mineral oil- try adding water to both. It is obviously not just W.M.O, so don't worry, the Ballistol Company couldn't give a f**k about you.

      I am here, wondering that myself when reading the documentation, he said something about odorless products and I’m trying to confirm if this is it I would imagine that this is the odorless version of the original. Have you confirmed that in anyway?

    Thanks for taking the time to make this Video, it's very informative. Personally I've been using a precision oiler with ptfe in it, but it was running out and needed refilling. So I've bought a small bottle of Ballistol to give it a try. Have you personally had any problems with Ballistol and Brass or Copper? I heard it reacts to them? I have a Casstrom Lars Falt with Brass Rivets, and don't want to spoil the look. Atb Wayne

    • @markbailey2981
      @markbailey2981  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Wayne, many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment :) I have been using it for a while without any problems. I know Ballistol makes a large selection of oils for different applications. But I'm sure I read somewhere that it can be used to clean brass. The brass pins on my knives seem fine. I haven't had the chance to try it on copper, so I am unsure about that. I like its multi purpose uses. I tend to carry one of the pens in my shooting and fishing kit, as well my general outdoor and camping gear. You will have to let me know how you find it on the copper. I would be interested to find out. Thanks again Wayne, all the best, Mark :)

    I can honestly say, I believe you guys would really enjoy cleaning firearms with ballistol, what does it take for a guy in the UK to own a firearm?

    • @markbailey2981
      @markbailey2981  6 лет назад

      Hi Rebecca, many thanks for watching, It depends on what type of firearm you want. If you were looking to get a hunting rifle, then you need to prove that you have the correct type of land for the firearm, police back ground check, then they come to your home and see where you will keep the gun safe etc. To keep shotguns it is pretty much the same, but you don't require any shooting land as we have a lot of shooting clubs. Shot guns and air rifles are the most popular types that people shoot. Handguns were banned back in the 80s I think it was. Thanks again, all the best, Mark. :)

    • @rebeccamarcus6631
      @rebeccamarcus6631 6 лет назад

      Mark Bailey thanks, I really didn't know that, we in the US seem to think they are completely out of the question for you guys. I'm terribly sorry that it is so limited and difficult. If I could change that for you guys I certainly would. Just last week I bought a brand new Glock model 17 9mm pistol for my wife to keep while I am away. And I blew up a buddy's gun last month and ran straight out and bought him a replacement ar15. Took about 5 mins and was otw back home with it in my trunk. I couldn't imagine life any other way I just don't think I could live life happily without the second emendment . Ofcouse it takes more time for anyone that doesn't already have a concealed weapons permit but since I have already gone through finger printing and a stringent back ground check to get it, it's almost no different than buying a new lawn mower here. I like you're video's my friend and if you ever have any questions for a free American on laws or anything else just ask away. Have a great day.

    • @rebeccamarcus6631
      @rebeccamarcus6631 6 лет назад

      Oh and one more thing, if you listen to popular left leaning media in our country then you would believe that there wasn't any gun laws at all lol, I assure you that no one can buy a new firearm without a thorough back ground check and a short waiting period, even at gun shows. That is probably the biggest load of dung that they spread.

    • @markbailey2981
      @markbailey2981  6 лет назад +3

      Hi Rebecca, I think what we lack is the land to hunt and shoot on. I've seen a few shooting videos across in the states where they have shooting ranges as large as some of our counties. The only land that we can get to shoot/hunt on is Farm land and heathland with the owners permission and small firing ranges. So not many people that I know buy centre fires, most choose the smaller rim fires, shotguns and air rifles. Plus we don't have much large game left anymore to shoot. There are a number of deer estates up in Scotland, but it can be expensive for a shoot, and with todays economy we leave that to the rich folk. We killed all our large animals centuries ago. We had the wild boar (now been introduced again), large deer herds, bears and wolves etc. Now it is more like foxes, rabbits and squirrels. I like to use my PCP air rifles. I like the skill involved, just like with a bow and slingshots. Yeah I do envy your gun laws. I wouldn't want any idiot to be carrying a gun, but I would like more choice and freedom. Have a great weekend Rebecca, all the best, Mark. :)

    Great informative video mate. I wonder with it being skin safe and fights fungus if it would get rid of athletes foot ? I used to suffer bad a few years back until I switched to leather boots and wool socks. I'd of soaked them I acid if it would of done the trick lol. 😀

      It's so good for guns, just spray down the parts and let it soak for a few seconds and before you know it even the most baked on carbon just wipes right off, plus the fact that it's non-toxic makes it really nice for gun cleaning indoors during those cold winter months.

    • @bluewater82

      Sergei Ivanovich Mosin Yeah my wife absolutely hated it when I cleaned my firearms indoors with other products due to the fumes. Ballistol has that super strong anise smell but we find it much more pleasant than strong chemicals.

      Hi fafafagat i hope you are keeping well. The oil in the video is food safe. I wouldn't recommend swigging it from the bottle lol. They make an odourless version which a lot of the large food producers use on their machines as it is non toxic. I'm not sure it is a mineral oil, but it works well on the things I use it for. Have a great day, all the best, Mark :)

    The material data safety sheet on this product makes for quite an interesting read. A petrochemical with 33% VOCs. "In experiments with rats and rabbits the animals' entire intestinal tract and stomachs were filled with Ballistol." Lovely. There are plenty of single ingredient organic oils with 101 uses.
