Thank you for the great insight on the Dallas area. Wife and I are flying out on 9/11 to spend 10-days driving the area to find the right town; Flower Mound and Rockwall are the front runners. Great tip on getting pre-qualified! Thanks again!
The best part about living in flower mound is pricing out the trash you don’t want to live near! I pray to god everyday the area doesn’t flip. Texas is really starting to look like California 😞
Hahaha, I like you videos and seeing the suburban communities. I grew up in Highland Village, waaaay back in the day, so seeing your videos is interesting. I remember when these suburbs were small, cotton towns, without the freeways and expressways....smh.....I remember when there was 1 road that led into Flower Mound, and it was a 2 lane street (Cross Timbers?). But FM always was considered the rich or upper middle-class suburb of Lewisville back in the 80's and 90's. I think the building boom in the '90's skyrocketed FM's population from 15K to over 60+k or now close to 80K? FM seems to have kept its real-estate value unlike many suburban & the inner ring communities over the decades. Its interesting to see the price points and home values in Dallas. It seems all the communities are generic, no character, cookie-cutter homes that visually appear to be the "same" home but in a differently named community? LOL. You see the same style in all the burbs? I guess that's why I love the city area. But the school system drives the real-estate prices $$$ in Dallas. But I think Flower Mound was always laidback, quiet, professional family oriented place. Not the ritzy, keeping-up w/the Joneses, flaunting of a new money types in Plano or Southlake or even a Coppell or Frisco type but just a low key, quiet, professional type crowd, subtle type folks, very laidback not in your face money, family oriented.
Its funny how I bumped into this comment. yes that is very true. Back story, my fam tried many many times to buy a house in the Plano area in the late 90s but somehow drove out there to FM to look at house due to a newspaper ad. They were looking at one house they could barely afford, but the lady to had to sell her house quickly and gave my parents a good discount and so my parents signed on the spot. But what you say how FM is laidback, quiet, not ritzy is so true. My parents neighborhood after many years are the same people, driving cheap cars, living a very simple life. Just middle class level income. But I guarantee they all got real cash money because majority live very frugal, ( boring, yet simple and peaceful) easy going lives. Instead of getting excited, my parents always get mad when our house prices increases because they don't like their property taxes going up. Ha, that is the mindset of old school FM folks.
