    Hi Shaun , how much does it cost on average to have a coin graded with NGC.? Love the channel.👍

    • @shaunoliver1703
      @shaunoliver1703  3 месяца назад

      I think I pay around 30 quid but you need to be careful as different coins come under different tiers - I used Fleurdecoin - Matt has always looked after me but there are plenty of middlemen (and good ones) out there :)

    Wow - what a selection of golden goodies. Yeah, I'd be suspicious of any pre-33 one dollar's. Absolute ton of fakes around. You're right to have it graded, just to authenticate it properly.

    ..these are numismatic gold coins ... they are for collectors who can appreciate their beautiful history and minting and are paying high premium over their Gold content. For ordinary folks, better not to collect nor buy such coins ... instead purchase those 999.9 purity Britannia gold coin or the 999.9 gold Maple Leaf.

      I don't agree with you - different coins have different functions in different markets. Everyones situation is different and their coin portfolio should reflect that. Saying that it also depends where you live and what the market is like in your own country. As with anything buy as much of something as you understand :)

      @@shaunoliver1703 Unfortunately and also tragically, many people don't do their own research and findings, but rather can be easily influenced by rather smart & clever people, trading & presenting such great & beautiful coins and polishing-up the exceptional prospects about owning/collecting such numismatic gold coins ...where some HUGE Fortune to be have !. Myself also collects numismatic coins ... but NEVER once held the belief that someday, there is a GREAT & HUGE Fortune awaits. Personally, just collect such numismatic for their beauty and glory, of such rare and also circulated coins and for especially the fantastic histories, once-upon-a-time ... now held in my hand and fingers. That's why ordinary folks, interested in Gold Coins, should better just purchase those ... 999.9 purity Britannia and Maple Leaf, unless otherwise ... QED.

    Trying wearing gloves when you handle your gold. The acid from your fingers will kill the luster. FYI

      Hi Jody - I have been a professional dealer for the best part of a decade. I don't touch proof coins but currency coins would have been handled extensively prior :)
