    Kids have no respect!!! Look at all those kids laughing and thinking it’s funny. The teacher should have not hurt that student, but this probably goes on every single day! The public school system is getting worse. Kids are given so much room to do whatever they want with no consequences for their actions. It needs to go back to old school traditional discipline. This is so sad because this is our future. No respect.

      Renee Benavidez I went to private school (Catholic) and never encountered these circumstances. If this happens. The student is expelled. The parents are then held responsible for the aftermath. LAUSD does not really care for the well-being of both the students and teachers with current policies in place. Hard changes need to be made, but no one has the backbone to do so. Changes that will benefit both the teachers and students

    • @reneeb6411

      1 truth and Humberto- first of all this is an all race thing. I see Caucasian kids acting out as well. My kids go to an elementary school where there is a “white” kid that is acting out in violence and they do nothing until another second graders head almost splits open. Close call , so now let’s do something. Think about this, most of the school shootings are from “white” kids. Kids are being taught to have no respect for another human. It doesn’t matter the age or race. I bet these kids all discussed this, so they could be on the news. Isaac’s acting skills were horrible. I am actually touring Catholic schools for my sons. I went to one this morning. So thank you for that comment Humberto. It’s this liberal BS... where we need to listen to them, give them choices, no spanking and time outs. Doesn’t work! I am a liberal and I tried all of that. I am finally getting the boys in line. I went old school. Kids want boundaries and rules. But they also need love. These kids are clearly not getting any of it!

    • @tonyt5609
      @tonyt5609 5 лет назад +1

      Hi Kacey, yeah I can understand being for the teacher but we can't solve all our problems by punching and using violence. It may seem good at the moment, but when the actual victim of bullying and verbal abuse ends up in jail, loses his job and his livelihood what's the point? Does it take all of that just to prove one punk kid wrong? It would have been better just to call the police and handle it like an adult. These kids aren't going to learn anything by adults flying off the handle and whipping there behinds. They may use situtions like this to start provoking teachers everywhere just to get them fired and arrested.

    • @KaceySimmons
      @KaceySimmons 5 лет назад +21

      I can understand your point and used to feel the exact same way. But as the father of a very unruly kid I've seen his school struggle with what to do when he is disrupting others in class. My kids go to what you would consider an affluent school district and have measures in place for this. But they could still lose 30 minutes of class time dealing with his antics. If I were the parents of the other students I would be outraged that my child's learning is being impeded by my son's behavior. I'm not saying that this is how every situation should be handled, but some of these YOUNG MEN need to learn that the world, including classrooms, are not their playgrounds. Violence is not ALWAYS the answer, but in some cases it's a necessary evil to teach those that REFUSE to learn from verbal instruction.

      I understand, I think we need to make some major changes to deal with kids like this poisoning the schools. This seems like a set up to me. The cell phones were ready and this punk provoked the teacher to fight. I wouldn't be surprised if he and his friends wanted to see if they could get him fired. As an educator for the past 11 years, I have seen students conspire against teachers they didn't like. I had one student try and set me up once but thankfully I was all the wiser to his intentions. I definitely feel for this teacher because being an educator in this day in age is scary and you put up with a lot of BS and disrespect. I would have told that kid that I'm not going to fight him because I'm not going to jail for assaulting a minor. Then I would buzz the office and explain that I am being threatened and need security ASAP. Easier said than done though.

    @Helen Belen - Thank you for this... you are 100% right with your thoughts IMO. If my kids talked to a teacher like this and the teacher beat them up, i would punish them when they got home. This kids mom will probably baby him and make him feel better about what happened. Poor poor parenting.
    Every news source is making out like the teacher is just beating him for "NO GOOD REASON" and that he just went crazy because of the dress code. But when you see the full video, the teacher is calmly asking him to stop, he tries to walk away, he tries to remain calm while this "wonderful child" just BERATES him and talks to him like a dog (sorry, i wouldn't talk to my dog that way, but maybe if my dog was trying to bite me..)
    This is a problem with children now-days. Parents don't hold their children accountable for their actions. This kids mom will probably end up suing the school system and bringing home a big paycheck and her son will probably be on multiple talk shows talking about the LUNATIC TEACHER who just beat him senseless when he was just trying to defend himself. But put yourself in the teachers spot and some kid was calling you "N***a" over and over again, i'm pretty sure that anyone would have a hard time not exploding.
    Parents, please, just listen to me... if you love your kids and you care about the future of our world, do not let your children get away with behavior like this. If your child disrespects another human, and that human decides to take action, do NOT protect your kid, allow them to learn a lesson because if you don't... eventually someone will teach them a lesson that they may not live through.

    Another MAJOR PROBLEM I observe with our schools (public schools in particular) is the classroom sizes or the teacher to student ratio. Often times the classroom sizes are overwhelming and perhaps even intimidating for some educators. So if/when there is a disruptive student (or a few) it becomes a power struggle because the rest of the class is then distracted and may also go off task. The teacher has to pause the lesson to address and redirect certain kids and the entire situation may go downhill from there.. "IT" ALWAYS STARTS AT HOME!

I mean, the student wouldn't shut up, as if he wanted something to happen. The student was bullying the Teacher and that is very wrong in the school district. Also, seems like another student went to go get security to. Overall, Mr. Riley tried to stay calm as should be, but that child, a freshman, kept running off at the mouth. Mr. Riley was being BULLIED. Parents need to raise their children at home and if they can't raise their children, don't send them to school, keep them at home with you. As I said in the video, some students are probably dealing with personal situations that cause them to have anger. I was one of those kids so I get it, but I have parents who supported the school to implement punishments when necessary and try to help me. Anyways, thanks for watching.

    I'm a teacher and we have to put up with way too much. We're human too. The kid threw a basketball at him for goodness sakes.

    If that was my son acting like that and disrespecting his teacher, throwing things and calling him out of his name I would have whooped his behind again when he got home!!!! Step up like you grown, get put down like you grown!!! Respect starts at home and clearly he is being taught racial slurs 🤦🏽‍♀️

    I am so tired of these disrespectful kids not receiving home training. Teachers and/or schools should be able to sue the parents for not teaching their kids proper mannerisms, at home. When a child is disruptive, they create a hostile learning/working environment for everyone involved, which means no one can receive an education. An education is received in a classroom environment, i.e. schools, colleges, universities and etc., and when this is interrupted due to a student, his/her parents should be held accountable.
    The state via taxpayers shouldn't allow this to happen. I know that I don't like my taxes being wasted.

    Abusing? I'm a former school counselor and I will tell you these kids are out of control. Physical violence? Of course not however at some point this teacher is also a human being.

    I'm a high school teacher and have been in situations like this. It's scary. I'm 5'2 and a 6'2 male student thought he was going to get up in my face. I faked my game face, but inside I was scared _hitless. This student was wrong as three left shoes. I hate the teacher lost it, but perhaps him being a victim 2 years ago fed into this situation. I hate that this teacher may lose his job behind a punk kid with no respect.

    - there was footage of the teacher calling for back up. It seems the teacher took his glasses off before returning to the student which should have been a red flag. The kid threw a basketball at the teacher- assault, and the teacher should have jumped in right then. Easy for me to say sitting at home though. Another interesting thing was that the teacher seemed disoriented after the fight. He was asking "Who hit me?" I wonder if he had some PTSD and just lost it? I hope for the best for the teacher. He assaulted a minor, but that student was begging for it as far as I can see.

    As a professional and a teacher Mr. Riley is out of control and should not be able to teach again. But as a man being provoked and being put in a situation where you are being threatened, disrespected and your buttons are being pushed any human being can snap! And it can end up being the both of you worse day!

    Mr. Riley is working under hostile conditions which means he is not being backed and supported by administration. Mr. Riley should be suing both attacking students and non-supportive administration.

    we notice that the student openly provokes the professor who moves away and holds to the end and "It's the drop of water that makes the vase overflow" - on remarque bien que l'élève provoque ouvertement le professeur qui s'éloigne et se retient jusqu'au bout et là "c'est la goutte d'eau qui fait déborder le vase"

    Isn't physically assaulting someone (throwing a basketball at them) and physically intimidating them while yelling racial slurs considered a hate crime?

    No, no, no! Nobody has the right to assault another person, let alone a ,”teacher,” over NAME CALLING.
    This so called adult teacher should be fired and sued.
    I don’t care what was said by the minor, the teacher is to set the example and rise above this childish behavior.

    This student harassed him continuously, he hit the teacher first. He sat there and asked the kid to leave. These kids are so disrespectful. These kid have no respect. The parents need to be parents and raise their kids to respect adults.

    He did not swing on him first! The video shows this disrespectful child lunging a basketball ball at the teacher. The parents needs to be charged for not being able to control their child. Respectful children will take a situation with a teacher and let their parents handle the situation.
