People devote 30+ years to understand these concepts in depth. As Einstein said, “if you cannot explain it simply, you do not understand it well enough”. Be impressed with how simply he can explain this in 4mins.

Did not Richard Feynman say that if you want to explain something that you should make the explanation as simple as possible? Granted, I don’t think there’s really such a thing as simple quantum physics or simple string theory. My point is, I would prefer if that learned professor Made a somewhat longer video and gave some explanation, albeit in layman’s terms, Of the observations and empirical evidence that support this theory. But then again, I’m just an attorney so what the hell do I know.

***** You cannot follow a religion and subject its basis into your own interpretation and single out which parts go along with your personal beliefs. If one part of the bible is subject to elimination (i.e., creation) that must leave all other parts equally susceptible for elimination as well. Also, Einstein wasn't Jewish. He was probably born one but did most certainly not follow it nor he believed in it or any other religion. Although, he understood that there must be something that, for now, only our imagination can explain. Even if string theory was to be true, in which fabric is this multiverse to be found, or even much more fundamental questions, 'how?' and 'why?'

In fact, the god of multiverse (not literally, figuratively) gave us 2 billion years just to escape earth before the sun blows up, and who know how long to escape the universe.
The real challenge is not rekking earth ourselves before the sun does.

Lord Nutfork except he wasn't being a troll or sarcastic...string theory is the theory of multiverses, and of big bang, which would be the creation of our universe through the collision or fission of 2 universes...and String Theory for Dummies is a real book authored by Andrew Zimmerman Jones and Daniel Robbins... the wormhole explanation is a side-note about the relative nature of our universe and thus, the relative nature of all universes, if such a multiverse exists as depicted by the string theory.

TForwardLeftR1 L2R1 you need bit intelligence this is all.sience believe that everything is coming from material ingredients .this is fine but where is pruf for this .it is very simple you do not need any practical education for this.sience give this theory that life coming from material ingredients .fine give me prof . practical experimental pruf.we can see that any life is coming from life .not from dead material elements.even small things like viruses has virus before like this life is coming from life .can sience mix 2 matherial ingredients and create life . answer is big No.lets sience give us even small ameba , virus or bacteria from dead material ingredients .no possible . therefore all this sience is just ridiculous . sience believe in theory what is not practically experimented. Similarly sience believe that everything is coming from nothing . what is this stupid filosofy .fine you may believe .but where is practical experimental truth .we see everything is coming from something .you have father , your father has father .there is no even one thing in this universe that coming from nothing .you can go all around universe you will not find even one thing coming from nothing .but interesting sience believe that everything is coming from nothing .so funny where is practical experimental truth for this believe . there is no . practically sience is became modern religion.everithing what is not like modern science believe is considered stupid and mad.situacion is like in dark age middle age in europe.curch have complete pover any man thinking different will be considered stupid ,mad and killed.modern sience is similar like Catholic church in middle age .any professor or sientists thinking different will be not killed but fired from job.in modern living if you no have job is very misfortunate situation.therfore all this professors are very misfortunate people .this people has exactly listen what sience has to speak.for example if any sientists or professor find any old thing or artifacts .if is older than modern science believe .he can not do nothing he can not publish or speak about .if he do he will directly lost job .he will be considered mad . like in middle age church .if any cardinal or priest think differently this cardinal or priest will be dead.same things is with modern science.another thing money for sience is coming from military or industry .this means sience is playing like military or industry like . like gypsy he must play what people demands because people give money . similarly with sience , sience must play what military and industry demands.example is motor car industry .why Sience not produce car without need of using petrol . sience is forbidden to do this.everybody is familiar with example of American man he invented car for going without petrol . monsters instantly try to kill him.first time he was alive but this monsters try second time and kill him.i find this like anyone else horrible .he is normal man he try to make better for this world .but this monsters kill him.all this is what I wrote is because for great pain I feel for that man.another example 2 russian sientists discover similar car without need for using petrol.and this people was in Paris to present discover.instantly french minister for energy speak to them .you have go from from Paris if you like to stay alive .and this 2 russian sientists have to run for life . what is this madness . french minister speak in this way . minister speak like mafia man .if french minister acting like complete mafia man this means french president actually doing same and all other presidents it is horrible if french minister like to kill this inosent people president is same .. when this people go back to Russia .this minister contact russian ministry and russian ministry speak to russian sientists to stop this project or this people will be dead .this is what is going on . sience it self is very difficult situation and plus sience is belonging to very very very mad people . people use your intelligence . understand what is going on.things are very very very wrong .

Not quite particles in the sense I think you used it. To us they would just look like 0 dimensional particles we are used to. They are vibrating, one dimensional objects that are open or close, and they CAN split. Assuming they are real, they help with a lot of the mathematics we need to help unify all physics.

What if, we cannot travel into other universes. Since we are made up of atoms, lets say another universe is made up of other different materials, and that other universe has different laws. Us going into that universe would be impossible, since the other universe does not have the laws that we need to exist.

    • @wav3chaser

String theory indicates that there is an infinite number of universes all existing at the same time, meaning there are other universes where the laws of physics and the building blocks of matter itself are different. Lets go to one where there everything is the same except one atom.

Well if you want to actually learn physics and the mathematics behind it you will need to start somewhere, and that somewhere definitely isn't quantum mechanics, or string theory, or anything of that sort. You will want to start with classical mechanics. (Kinematics, Forces, Energy, Momentum, statics electromagnetism, thermodynamics, optics, etc.) and then once you have a solid understanding of that to the point that you can dive into pretty much any classical mechanics problem and solve it you'll probably be ready for the crazy stuff such as relativity, quantum mechanics, and string theory. But before you even get started in classical mechanics you will need to have a solid understanding of algebra, trigonometry, and calculus, so make sure you have those on your belt.

    • @Arkturium

goldenthroat86 A theory in science is an explanation for a broad range of related phenomena that is supported by observational (and in physics, mathematical) evidence, and has good predicting power for future observations.
You can technically have competing theories, however, there tends to develop an evidential bias towards one particular theory, this theory becomes the primary theory.
Evidence that absolutely went against a theory, or could not be explained by a theory would invalidate it. For many of the long-standing theories today, this has not happened.
The theory of evolution, the big bang theory etc, are all theories that have the most evidence in their field.
Science is the best tool that we have to gather information and understand how the world works.

Scientist have a thirst for knowledge, unlike religious folk we ask questions about the world then seek to find answers about them. Religious folk leave their why questions at "We'll never understand gods will, we just have to accept it". Without science, who knows where we would be today?

I see a lot of people in the comments who just shrug this concept off and say it's bullshit. Impossible. Well it very well may be... but it's extremely ignorant to deny something without understanding it, and this video does NOT explain string theory.
I always have a problem watching Michio Kaku explain things... mainly because he doesn't. He just talks about the effects and benefits of the topic.
For example.. here's how a car works. It gets you from point A to point B, you can put stuff in it, and eventually you will have to get a new one.
This does not in ANYWAY explain how a car works...
String theory. Well it explains what happened the before the big bang, it explains multiverses, and it explains concepts beyond Einstein's equations.
He's just talking about what string theory explains. Without giving any insight into explaining the explanations that he's trying to explain!!!

Similarly , Universe is just a summation of zero on a flat plane of our 3d world. In the end of time , It would be ended and become Zero once again as it was once ( Before Big Bang).

+Ohm My Vapor Ejuice I will not claim to understand all of this stuff; I'm working on my undergrad in chemistry. But I might be able to answer your question. Naturally, it's not as if the equation spits out yes or no. It's more like if the numbers come out to make sense or not.
Let's say you wanted to do a process, and you have an equation that accurately describes that process in mathematical terms. Well as with any process, you're going to need energy. That energy will be accounted for in the equation. If you crunch the numbers and find that your process requires more energy than the amount of energy estimated to be in the universe, then your process is impossible. In other words, the equation said no. The difference between this example and the equation in the video is that their equation isn't just crunching numbers. It's a lot of calculus and higher up math that can be very difficult to solve correctly.

Maybe a stupid question but still: So from my understanding the universe is literally spacetime + All forms of energy. So spacetime + energy. How can the multiverse exist and be like bubbles going into each other or splitting if there cannot be room between that universes cause spacetime is only a property of a universe. So there is no space outside a universe and no time, so there is no space for universes to collide with each other and also no time for universes to collide with each other. Or they should collide everywhere at every possible time.
So my question is how do I need to look at a multiverse if it is a possible idea?
