Hang on a minute, Ipswich spent just £4.7M in 2 seasons. Yes, they were one of the richest clubs in league 1, but their wage bill was only around 16th highest in the championship. And I'm sorry but Luton/SheffU/Burnley are not the same level as Leicester/Leeds/Southampton. What on earth is Danny Murphy talking about? Utter bullshit. BTW I have a lot of time for Paul Warne, one of the good guys.

Ipswich didnt spend lots ! They sold players and just reinvested! There budget in league1 was not the highest and in the championship was one the lowest !
The main thing with ipswich is that, most people miss is the running of the club ! The owners completely transformed it and generated more income so they could invest into the team and staff.

No superstars, no egos, just a team that works hard and support each other no matter who plays.

Derby fans don't need Danny Murphy, or anyone else outside the club, to tell us what we need to do. We're going to be very aware of how close we went to folding up, the points deduction, and that promotion was unlikely, for some time to come. A couple of years ago, there were five registered players reporting for pre-season training. It's great what Ipswich achieved. It shows what's possible, knowing it's not probable.

As an Ipswich supporter, I am afraid to say that Danny Murphy is talking absolute nonsense, we have not had a big spend at all, and the wages budget was 14th I believe.
Mc Kenna is different gravy, and what we achieved will look even better with time, as opposed to weaker, with just ten defeats in 92 league games, and last season we sold out home and away, with a 97% stadium occupancy rate, the highest in the Championship, as well as being top scorers, and the fittest team.
I was pleased to see Derby and Portsmouth get promoted, and Paul Warne is a decent manager, who will do a good job for them.
The clubs promoted to the Championship are stronger than those that got relegated, although I think the three who got promoted last season, are stronger than the three coming down from the PL.
So could be even more competitive this coming season, and the relegation fight will be brutal.
