- In 2021 I did a requested series focussing on playing Steve's parts from the In The Round concert, so this time I am following up with a series on Phil's. For any new subscribers I have gained in the last couple of years, I used to mainly upload Def Leppard content. From 2011 - 2017, I uploaded covers of pretty much the whole main discography, minus the Yeah! album and a couple of acoustic tracks (You can find here - ruclips.net/user/pl.... Looking back, naturally I think every video can be improved on, especially video quality wise. I always find I hear new things over time too and start realising that certain parts can be played differently and maybe more accurately. So I always like the opportunity to correct anything from a video that is numerous years old.
You can find my Steve series here - • Steve Clark - Live 'In...
You can check out the Phil series here - • Phil Collen - Live 'In...
I use a Jackson DK2 into a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X.
F.A.Q.
My headphones are purposely like that so the cable stays out the way.
I have a Patreon where I upload my notation notes for all my new covers and I am going through my old ones too. But I also provide custom notation and video lessons content there or at my bwmguitarlessons@gmail.com address. Please get in touch if you want help playing the music you love. / bwm5150

Not much changed when learning Phil's parts here but I did try to stay strict in copying his fingering and vibrato, although I find that quite challenging. Fun as always though! :)
Notation notes now available at my Patreon here - www.patreon.com/posts/def-leppard-phil-101178061
This has been posted for 26 minutes. My biggest regret is that I didn't see it the MOMENT it posted......25 minutes ago.
Excellent "Def Leppard" tone! 🎸🎶 The power chords in the intro to "Foolin'" me of "Starship" from their song "Tomorrow Doesn't Last Tonight" in terms of tone.
Steve had this gift of coming up with very simple riffs and licks that really carried the song. And also kudos to Vivian Campbell who's a very accomplished player as he shown with DIO to have practiced such a restrain in Def Leppard. And realises that the easy parts that Steve wrote and played are imperative for the song to sound like a Leppard song. And he just didn't whine or wanted to show off his massive abilities (surely surpassing those of Steve Clark perhaps even Phil) just to stay in service of the song and the band. That to me is great musicianship. And what an awesome band Def Leppard is and has been for the last 40 years, despite their heartships.
such a fun song to play. sounds simply incredible.
Great Job Ben on another Def Leppard Classic 👍
no problem. But I think the other Ben really deserves the credit........lol

Excellent work as usual, sir. 😂
Crushed it. As usual.
i was thrown off if this is in E standard or Eb standard.. either way Im gonna try to pull this off
This tour was all in standard. They started tuning down to Eb on the Adrenalize tour but only for the songs Hysteria, Love Bites and Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad. Then from the Slang tour onwards, it was all tuned down.
I hate tuned down songs. Much easier for me 😊
Niiice
Is that a stock impulse response from the Pdi-09? Cause it sure as hell sound like a Rockman :) World class everytime.
It’s an analog unit so there’s only 3 modes which I guess are basic EQ settings. I’m always on the ‘bright’ setting. I would say with my Boss Me50, this live tone has always been what I was striving for 😁
Wow amazing tone what amp are you using?
Thanks, boss me50
@@bwm5150 wow I never realized you could use a me50 like that.Thats actually kinda cool
What the model is the guitar and what pickups are in it?
Dk2 Dinky with stock Duncan Design pickups
@@bwm5150 Thanks for the info!
