Jeremy Daugherty That's what I was thinking. These guys saying it wasn't about where to put your stand, I got what the video was about in the first 45 seconds!! Great video.

The article was titled treestand placement. Wasn't a single thing about putting up a tree-stand!

1234tric Putting up a tree stand and treestand placement are two very different things.

I'm still learning about stand placement its probably better too seek out a teacher too show & learn about thermos I have hunted in a built blind and haven't seen anything last year in Gaylord MI, I hunted in a Popup Blind next too two Roads there was one along side of me and where I was looking out towards a road my Blind was up against a fallen Oak tree that gave me too best opportunity . Around 5 pm a 4 pointer came in towards my left about 65 yards away he didn't see me or smell me unfortunealey I couldn't get a shot off because my Remington 30-06 wasn't working so I missed the opportunity hopefully this be a factor this year , I bought a 18" ladder stand Now in MI its Bow season since October 1st and I'm still sitting around waiting for my friend too do his thing before we head up North I'm always waiting for someone my whole life I know that if you want something bad enough you need too do it yourself or it will never happen.

I had a bad experiences with mibd in 2016 i had the opportunity to kill my first buck and my 30-06 didn't do what it was suppose to Shoot. I clean it i oil it and i shot it 4 days before in went into and area where i saw my first buck, Know luck for me but now i don't own it know more i sold it and bought a bolr action Rifle , Since that episode i have killed 4 deers , I would assume my old rifle was haunted.?

Move your stand buddy, walk around and find the trails and scraps and rubs. Dont set up lesss than about 20 yards from any of this, you'll see them.

@@michealhawkins8813 this is my first full season bow hunting. Thats exactly what I've been doing & seen deer both times I've gone out. It's not easy to get 1 by on a mature animal. But I'll get there eventually. I am finding buck sign in the swamps where there are no other hunters. I love it! Go where others are too lazy to go and you'll dee the deer IMO!

Well you are correct, I did not say right, about the wind, heat, and cold. I have hunted for 50 years now and I do not use scent cover, or any of these new gadgets they have on the market. I still hunt the old way, sit down and be quiet, and I smoke while hunting. I have found that deer are alot like coyotes very curious to sound and smell. If a deer comes in on you left and he bust you, don't give up, hell circle you and show up on your right. I get busted alot, but I also come out of the woods with my kill. Every time I go, I get my deer, 9h and yes they are legal and tagged. I've shot deer wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, trick is spot him before he spots you.

Michael Hawkins, I smoke my good old Cuban cigars when I hunt. The basic stuff still works today. I’ve never used those catchy new gadgets either I think they have it to get the new generations suckered in. :-)

TRY A 12X12 CAMO TARP TO CAMOFLAGE YOUR TREESTAND,USE HAND AND BODY WARMERS,ONE IN THE FACEMASKS,GLOVES SOCKS AND CHESTS.TO STAY WARM,AND ROPELADDERS ARE MORE SILENT.

Don't worry about scent. Me and one of my dad friends went hunting yesterday. (He sees at least 10 deer every hunt on a soybean field) and we saw 15. And he smoked 5 cigarettes and drank 2 Pepsi-Colas during it

Far too much science in this. My granddad was a mechanic. He didn't own a stitch of camo, had no idea what the hell "thermals" were, didn't give a care about wind and had no clue what scent control was. Yet, he would go out after work, in his grease and gas covered coveralls, smoking cigarettes, and bag a buck every year. His advice.....You want to shoot a big deer? Sit your ass down, and shut the hell up.
