I am from the Philippines and my dream is to put up a school five years from now, that is based on the Japanese educational system. Thank you very much for this video, I am more encouraged to work on my plan.
I will definitely support you because most of our people aren't disciplined because japanese schools use discipline first I agree that this should be here in ph
Japan is 20 years ahead from the rest of the world.... Politeness Respect toward nature and living being Generosity Sympathy Honesty Disciplined Are missing nowadays in people but in japan it’s still intact
With UTMOST respect for the values Japanese schools bat for, may I get just ONE clarification - children are taught respect towards nature and living beings you say. But, are japanese people vegetarians ? Aren't they predominantly meat eaters ???
The key to all these statistics lies on the idea of 'Manners before knowledge'. When I was in college, I had a subject in Psychology. There, I learned that your attitude and character were built from the age of 0-9 years old. Now, Japanese applied this and took time to nurture discipline as it is the very foundation to excellence. Hats off!
but you can always change your attitude and character later in life. You're not stuck if you didn't build it before you were 9. You can rewire your brain at any age, it's scientifically proven it's called neuroplasticity.
TIWIN JOSEPH Yeah right that is why the Japanese kids have the highest suicide in the world. Also their text books lie and in some cases hides about the Japanese war and occupation especially in the Korean nation.. hey the war impacted India too
Hmnn.... just sharing✌ I have fun in school today My teacher cried in front of the class and told us about how hard for her to get mad on teens she just want respect and want us to learn something through her PERSONAL development subject... and then we all shared our problems and depression it feels good when the whole class just listening to you quietly and your teacher too and giving u some advice, comforting u☺ sometimes we hangout in the teachers faculty😂😂😂😂😂
I'm not hating on Japanese people or anything cuz they make a lot of fun and cool stuff and toys and games....but basically this video can be summed up in like this.....japanese people are nerds.
I really admire the work of educators, it's a bit tiring task, but it pays off in the end to see the affection and the result of the child's learning. I loved the video, so cute 😍
@@fahadnaif3519 bro u are right main reason of failure of India is it's corruption but it is very hard to remove but it will happen in next 70-75 years but I'm could bring in 20-25 years but corruption stops it
There are different categories of hackers,if you go on-line and Google, you will see the list of hackers with grades and there functions, hacking has been in existence before technology and globalization uprooted and en-route the web as we are living in the millennium era ,i think good hackers that are highly recommended are found in Japan,Russia,China and some parts of America,if you follow my post very well, you will get recent list of the best hackers across the globe. As a young and efficient students,it is not advised to hire an hacker for your university grades because if you fall into a fake/scam hacker, they might temper with your grades and this will reflect in your school portal, you might have a spill/expelled from the university/school or college,so with this,it is best advised to know the right hacker and contact them when appropriate. Again, face your studies,do your assignments, read your books, visit your librarian, ask questions when necessary even if you are not making the right sense, its better you air your view,a problem shared is a problem half solved. When wealth is lost, nothing is lost When health is lost, something is lost But when character is lost, everything is lost. I wish something like this happens in our land just like it is happening in Japan. 😭😭
I am 60 years old, I was born in the United States. The best education system starts before the children leave their homes. It's called parents. Parents who are a team and help their children adapt to the world and have values are the key to every society. I worked for 32 years in major corporations, then 5 years in my own consulting business, and for the past 3 years I am teaching. I first thought the key to any school was the quality of the teachers. Now I think this comes second after the quality of the students. Recently, my high school students complained about teachers not being focused and doing their job properly. I told them, great students can easily get rid of poor teachers. I so wish I had motivated students who were ready to learn everyday. Instead, the vast majority of students come to my school to learn what will be on the tests and get grades. I get in trouble with parents and students because I bring in topics that are current and cutting edge. Having worked as a sales director, manager, financial analyst, operations manager, accountant, and competitor analyst, I bring real world case studies to my students. I help them see the connections between the course work and how to create something new and exciting. It's hard work. I think the video shows us one approach. I commend the Japanese for helping their students become proficient in so many ways. I really like the ideas of the students cleaning the school, control of school meals, and respect for everyone in the school. I am ashamed when I think about how bad schools have become in the United States. We once had a good system even in the central cities. I am a product of public schools in Newark, New Jersey. I learned how to compete with the best of them, and so did my classmates. Even the bullies of my day were educated well. But new times, need new strategies and a vision. After more than 50 years of neglect it looks like Newark is making a turnaround. Sadly, it will likely not include the people who suffered from the disinvestment in public schools and the investment in youth incarceration. Schools are no substitute for parents, that is a problem a school can not solve. Schools can not solve the problem of poor leadership and the lack of vision. I thank President Eisenhower for having a vision and making the country move forward when I was a child. He started the idealism that drove the United States forward. Kennedy tried to keep it going. We know how that ended. Now, parents and teachers need to push aside the poor leaders and figure out how they want society to be in the future. We can't wait for a president, governor, or mayor to lead us, we have to start working on future leaders. It's a lot easier that we might think. Our parents did it, why can't we do it now?
I agree with you that parents are the child's first teacher, yet, society has broken down, and respect is no longer valued anymore. I am soon to qualify as a kindergarten teacher, and having done my university placements at long day childcare centers, I am horrified to see the low standards being tolerated at this level, and the majority of the problems start from parents don't raising ill-mannered children. I am sure this is a first world/western culture issue, as I do not see this in countries such as asia and Japan.
THE LLAMA SQUAD NATION Not entirely true. All my life, I've been going to private schools, and have been wearing uniform ever since. Probably depends on the school, but most private schools require uniforms. And I have seen students who go to public schools and wear everyday clothes. So yeah.
In the Ph, school starts at June (but they're starting to change it to August). The standard/common call time is 7:20 a.m. until 3:40 p.m. on Mondays for a 10 minute flag ceremony and 7:30 a.m. until 3:40/4:00 p.m. from Tuesdays through Fridays. We wear school uniforms, we have cleaning personnel and the community is quite mixed up- there are Filipino students who only speak English, Filipino students who only speak Tagalog and Bisaya, depending on what their local language is. You naturally learn colors, basic numbers, and basic speech before primary school. During primary school, you will only polish or learn what you haven't as preschooler. Preschool call time is 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 am everyday. When you get to grade school, school hours are extended until afternoon. Buy/Bring your own lunch and recess food, and some classes allow their students to eat while the class is ongoing. You have to wear your uniform, but you are free to wear hoodies, jackets, that sort of thing when you need to. I wear them everyday, regardless of the weather. You can wear caps, but not while class is ongoing. Some students listen, others are stuck in their own world doing their own stuff (drawing). Some teachers love to make their students laugh, others are very kind and give you many chances, and others are slightly strict, but still like to have fun with their students. One of the very memorable times of a Filipino's grade school years are the Sports Fests. Every year, the school picks a trending theme and creates teams based on the theme (we did Pokemon GO last year) and divides the students into a specific team. There's also a Fiesta, where you can basically go around anywhere, shop in the booths, or hang out in your classroom and party! (We did a pellet gun war last year with toy guns we bought from the booths) And it's really fun! A lot of rivalry, drama, emotional moments, but so far, my grade school (Yes, I am just a 6th Grader) has been really fun! (Although its not all rainbows and butterflies) In my opinion, it doesn't matter where you are born, it's what you do with where you already are that does! Make do with what you have and you'll end up with no regrets! (Quotes from a 6th Grader)
iKeyStar I'm Filipino too but moved to the UK after Grade 3 and the system is so different here. Classes are shorter and there's no such thing as 'raising the flag and singing the National Anthem'. Growing up, I wished there was some sort of Fiesta though since there weren't a lot of time Students could fully unite together and do projects for an event. We do have a sports day were everyone does sports but the teachers organise it and that's only a day.
Ikeystar sadly the things you learn from Grade 1 will still be thought until grade 6 until 3yr of highschool, come college they will still teach what you have been taught in Elementary... you are only on 6th grade? I'm sure in high school you will repeat the same lessons in 1st year and half of 2nd year in almost all subjects.. come to college you enrolled on a 5 year course but the real course and major subjects will start on your 3rd year your 1st and 2nd year in college is just a review or a redo of what you have been taught in elementary and high school... that's Philippine education for you..
+Marvin G. It doesn't literally mean like that, it's basically a spiral system where your lessons gets harder and adds as your grader level gets higher. And they teach different lessons depending on the grade level you are in. We just have an introduction or an encounter with the lessons we might take on the next grade level because the teachers believe that we can be prepared for it.
iKeyStar .......and all these to equip you to aim to entice a white foreigner to marry you and hope for a better life as most Filipinos are desperate to live their country due to poverty or maybe they don't find their men attractive!
I really do like the Japanese idea and principle of their education system. Japanese people just really want to develop well-rounded students and citizens for the future of their country and I really admire the logic of their principles.
Truly, Japanese are taught how to consider others' feelings, manners and not to give others trouble at home, in anime s, in TV dramas and in society, not just in the education system. Collective good is part of their culture.
im from israel, we have almost nothing in common except the exams that determine our life. after those exams we have to to the army for 3 years. after that we can go to university or start working. no one can survive without graduating college or something that will help you get a work
We are also cleaning our own classrooms 😂. Here in the Philippines, Morals are considered subject, From kindergarten to Senior High School are required to wear uniform. Suspensions for multiples absences and tardiness, for improper haircut (for boys, some schools like RTU 😶) We have three tests for our future (NATs, NCAE, PACT). June is the start of the academic year. 10 weeks of Summer.
Young Lady Caileigh, and also the, "Don't chew gum, you look like a goat." Which is EVERY teachers' favorite line every time they catch you chewing some gum (which you probably asked from your seatmate LOL). :')
Young Lady Caileigh Still I believe the Philippine educational system is rotten and needs to be re-evaluated. Methods are outdated and are too focused on grades and standards rather than motivating students as unique individuals. So much is also crammed in an academic school year with lessons and methods that are not really useful. Those NATS? Hahaha. Some results are even rigged because principals and other district officials care more about their school's rep than actual teaching. The Japanese and Northern European systems seem to be the best so far.
+R Gonzales I believe that the education system of the Philippines is not rotten, because most of the best students comes from the Philippines, not only when it comes to academics but the talents of the students and the culture of the country, students are taught to have proper etiquette and character is still one of the focus of the schools. You have the point that it needs to be re-evaluate but I don't believe that you only get high quality education in best private school because some of the best students come from public schools because the pacing of the lessons are much faster and some public schools have what they call science class which includes advanced study for the lessons of which subjects the students will take.
Rachelle Jeremy Rachelle Jeremy Admittedly, perhaps I have gone too far by saying it is rotten. I never said private is superior to public. I am a product of both private and public school systems in the Philippines (they're basically the same) and I know what they're like. The overall educational system is okay but it can have great leaps of improvement. I graduated from this science program you're referring to (Special Science Class, it is called). To the Department of Education's credit, they have in fact created separate programs for the arts, journalism, sports and science to cater to different interests. I guess I am just frustrated how much of the system is based on America's, and that it sucks compared to the type they have in Europe and Japan, and that the previous commenter make it sound like it's flawless. There are thousands of students here who are underprivileged and the system fails to cater to their learning needs in so many ways. I also dont like how schools cease to become fun because we cram too much and that we have a general mindset that education is primarily about getting high grades or salaries rather than learning. Probably that's a cultural thing--we're third world after all. We've recently implemented a K to 12 program (middle school), so we'll see how this one goes.
It is most advanced... Asian people wont use their brain, becouse they have never got their placed using self on thinking... Finland we have so many laws, and rules, becouse we allways go around the rules by improvising. asian people come to finland retry 20-30ppl and 120 000€/year income
as an indonesian, we go to school at 6 a.m, and go to home at 4 p.m. but most of us, didn't go home, we have to go to after school courses, until 7.30 p.m. and there is bunch of homework, and we have more than 11 subjects that we have to learn at school.
bagas wibowo but when the exam coming, teacher would gives you all the answer, or at least let you cheating with your phone. coruption coruption coruption....
Mimi Mituno the coruption that happened, because we as indonesia already have to go to school start at age 4, and the teacher not to concern to teach us manners.
My Country is Pakistan. Here teachers put a lot of effort in bringing up a child's interest in it's knowledge and study from age of 3.5 years. The start of going to school is marked by Early Education at 3 to 4 years. Then Montessori and KG. A 12 year of education completes a student's effort to enter his/her Professional carrier. There is a lot of competition in private public school system. Unfortunately learning through nature is not in practice and schools have no plans for fostering creativity and developing a pro-social behavior.
i like the cleaning thing, in my country kids leave their trash all over the place if they would have to clean up after themselves, maybe they would learn to actually use trashcans
Whichever country is following this it's really good ;atleast some of us in the world have meaningful education because a child needs right guidance and we will hope most of the countries should know the importance of this and adapt it in the near future
Even though we in India feel we lack something in our education system, we have consistently produced some of the best minds in the fields of science, arts, technology and healthcare. I like what japan is doing but believe each country has her own ways to achieve success.
"We" haven't produced such great minds...those minds have emerged by themselves by breaking from the shackles of monotonic education systems...until things dont change only a few extraordinary can emerge...their will be no production of more greatness!!
@naveen viswam .... I agree with u. India is the land of intelligent people. I live in Canada and I can proudly boast about my country's education system for what I'm today and I am competing with the best minds. Its every easy to blame a system and mostly unsuccessful people do that often...
naveen viswam Yeah right that is why the Japanese kids have the highest suicide in the world. Also their text books lie and in some cases hides about the Japanese war and occupation especially in the Korean nation. Japan also impacted India too
80% of the comments: Indians mocking their Ed system 18%: Japanese ppl saying how this vid is wrong 2%: acc responding to the vid I hope I just saved some time scrolling through comments
Japan is the best place to study. It doesn't only educate people but also teach them extraordinary things. In India we have only homework load................
Homework loads, especially in high school. and in my school, near big exams. like, we have a wave of homework near our final. I moved continents, and in my other school, the teacher told us to relax, and take it easy. My dad still said, "STUDY STUDY STUDYYYYY"
I have a high respect for the Japanese culture, because they focus on teaching students about respect, responsibility, and creativity. In addition, when compared to the American school system they are not consistently drowned with testing that frustrates students and blocks their creativity and uniqueness. Most importantly, as a teacher I know the importance of children having respect, because I have students that disrespect the learning environment daily and I have to make sure that I model and teach them the value of loving themselves and caring for others.
I started my first test in grade four. But that's because I transferred there in grade four; in my district's school system, you start your first test in second grade.
Which is actually the BEST part of the Japanese education system if this video is accurate. After that, it begins to go downhill to where the kids end up getting classified and labeled like the residents of a beehive.
This is so true. This is why my kids have to play at least half a day. Somedays, it is even longer and when the weather is nice, we spend much of it outdoors.
Lots of nonsense... I live close to Tokyo and I know a lots of schools that have exams from first grade... Also a child's creativity is often discouraged because it is viewed as the opposite of discipline. Just my experience.
cutekaji There's also the view that the ultimate goal is to get hired to a large Japanese company which doesn't really require a lot of creativity (but I might be wrong).
cutekaji i also think the pressure is really high there, I am a tescher in holland and the system is so diffrent here and like it better because most shool do develope creativity and school presussure isnt that high.. if we cant go to univirsity then we first got to college and the uni.. and like there is ALWAYS a way to do what u love
I went to school in Norway and thought I received a well-rounded, high quality education for sure! Plus low/non-existing cost of education is a massive factor, of course. It sucks how most countries don't get the funding they need and deserve... I also think education pretty much everywhere needs a bit of a reform though, the system is out of date - if I could have spent the hours I spent cramming for advanced tests etc. in subjects I knew with 100% certainty I would not get future use of to instead focus on my strengths, that would have been so much more beneficial in professional life. That's where I think Finland is doing well, they're reducing workload in terms of homework while simultaneously experiencing a boost in productivity and results, and experimenting with letting younger people specialise (almost major, I guess?) in certain subjects from an earlier age!
ml yesoof idun i TOTALLY agree... when i was going to 3rd year of high school i also kinda specialized already but i could go every direction if i wanted... i mean i am not officially a teacher but doing the study to become one... but education is a huge rile if my life and i think it’s so important as it shapes you who You will become :)
I live in Malaysia, the school here have timetables and show us what books we Need to bring, in Malaysia we don’t say “grade” we say “standard”, so standard 1, 2 and 3 goes to school in the afternoon till evening and 4,5,6 in the morning to afternoon!
Clorox Bleach nice but I love Japan because of its behaviour of people, rules and regulations and the responsibility of people towards their nature and surroundings I wish I could ever visit Japan country and it's people......
In Australia, our school days are from 9 to 3:30, and we start from about 5 years old until Year 12 (17ish) - it's compulsory to finish Year 10. School years are from February til December for primary school kids and most schools require uniforms. I think we need to do tests from grade 3, can't remember... It's a very academic system, and life skills like cleaning and moral teachings aren't really emphasised and I wouldn't say schools here are very strict. In order to get into high ed Uni courses, like Dentistry, Sciences etc. you need a high score from exams in Year 12. Most people though will end up doing courses that only require a year 12 completion.
1. We clean classroom and toilet too. We would take turn like on monday roll no:1-10, tuesday 11-20 and so in. It's pretty fun. We would chat while we work. We would volunteer to clean toilets😹 Sound crazy ik but it is so we would miss class lol We get away with it. 2. We have uniforms too. 3. We bring our own tiffin or buy at school cafeteria. (We finish our tiffin before lunch break😹 Eating during class) 4. They are strict. We live under decipline. We are not even allowed to date in school😹(We do but we don't let teacher catch us) 5. From 11th grade, we have two choice. Arts or science(PCBM) So we basically seal our future by 11th grade.
I'm from Bulgaria. We are at school from 7.30 to 12.30 when it is second term. But in first term we are at school from 13.00 to 18.00. We have 6 lessons every day. Lessons are 40 minutes.Breaks are 10 minutes, but the big break is 20 minutes. Sometimes we have a lot of homework. We have summer holiday 3 months. The school year starts at 15 September. Every summer vocation we have many books for reading + homework in Bulgarian and Literature
Most schools of Nepal provide foods in a schedule. Many too have a 10 hour school. All the Nepalese students study in vacations and weekends. The session starts from April... Feeling proud to be a Nepalese...
Wow💕 its so very interesting..especially the children that they need to explore, expose and experience first, and all the culture and tradition of japanese education system.thats why the tradition is so very strong..
Japan is really the best country you'd want ur kids to grow in !!! I'm from Morocco and trust me, u don't want to know what the educational system is like here !!!
I live in America and we rank something like 49th in education in the world! My granddaughter is home schooled and she is learning more than she ever would in an over crowded classroom where special education take the teachers time up. American schools only teach for the "STANDARDIZED TEST" and that's not education, it's dumbing down! American schools are suffering!
I really hated school all my childhood, I felt discriminated since I didn’t adapt to the norms of the time, I didn’t talk to any adult thus any teacher just my school mates, and today reading my reports all was negative all the indicator were the last tick, the worse. Apparently I wasn’t following the “normal” path. I had to do 1st year twice. Left my new friends. And that was a load all the way till I finished school since I was the older. And today I feel that school was a really agresive place a place where the only thing I wanted was to finish the day and go home. It wasn’t a fun place, was boring, and without contention. Today I am proud of my self my carpentry career, I am good with my hands and i have plenty of fun. But I don’t want to recall those time of torture and I wish my kids have and open minded place to study where they can have fun. 1 second ago
Just sayin' In the Philippines we usually start classes at 7am and finish at 5pm. Some fortunate students do private tutorials or acquire special classes after school (like maths and arts). SY usually runs on June (but private schools assign their opening of classes any time they want as long as it is in the prescribe period) 'til March but sometimes may last on April because of some causes. We too, do clean our own classrooms. And also we are required to wear proper uniform always. Starting from kindergarten exams are implemented and practiced. We do have Good Morals and Right Conduct (GMRC) subject for elementary. And Values Educ for secondaries. And religion classes, (which Catholic & Born Again Churches here usually do esp in public schools) it is not a school subject but it is provided for us to gained more faith and to have a strong foundation on what we believed in.
I've been teaching in Japan for almost 10 years, and I've never even heard of or seen the paint thing in the beginning part of the video. Yes, they got the parts about cleaning the classroom and eating school lunches in their classrooms. Yes, students do learn basic calligraphy and haiku, but I'm skeptical about the way they presented this... And it is true that most schools from JH and up have uniforms. And I have heard some people say that universities in Japan can be quite easy and are the best time of their life (though, even in the US college years are thought to be the best years of a person's life). Pretty much everything ranges from completely off base to mixing a dash of truth with a lot of misunderstanding. And a lot of the images used were obviously from China, not Japan. This was very poorly researched.
I've been teaching in Japan nearly a year and I can tell you that most of this is fluff. The imaginative color set may be used in some private schools but it is not representative of public school teaching in Japan. Primary education makes an attempt at moral character forming but the nation-wide bullying problem shows that it is not effective. Come junior high, everything becomes about rote memorization and testing. Kids don't learn to be effective problem-solvers, they learn that class is boring and that every subject requires a grade to pass and that's it. Just memorize. Japanese pedagogical methods are stuck in the 1930's.
Robin Fox thats is why they are technologically most advanced nation in the world, and probably people.with highesg IQ level, and probably most healthy people in the world, with poor education as you described they have gone way far than expected
Japan is NOT the most technologically advanced nation in the world! Have you ever been to Japan?? Japanese technology is stuck in the 1980s. Businesses still use fax machines in Japan. Manga and anime does not equal technology
i dont think that using fax is something describing technology development index. Cars, Electronics, people i have been communicating are telling me more than your faxes :) sorry
Here in Singapore our education is fast. Not sure if our education is harder compared to the rest of the world, but we start at the first Monday of January (Primary school and Secondary school). Usually, we have to gather at 7:30am and sing national anthem. My primary school ends at 2:00pm while my secondary school ends on 4:30pm on Mondays, 3:30pm and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday, and 12:30pm on Friday (I think every Government Secondary school in Singapore on Friday ends at 12:30pm). Yes, almost every weekday is an education acedemic focus day, but my school hold events like Fiesta, Sports day, Mass Run;etc Holidays are on Public Holidays, Marking days (typically a day after School Major exams like SA1/SA2), a week in March, 4 weeks of holiday at end may to 3rd eeek of June (Even tho first and last week is typically taken as consolidation week or revision week by teachers) ,a week in September, End of October to First day of Janurary (Secondary School) or mid November to First day of January (Primary school). If u would like to compare how fast education is compared to your country, let's compare mathematics. We learn simultaneous equations at Secondary 2 (Grade 8), even though we actually used it often in Primary 5 (Grade 5) to replace guess and check method. We learn pythagorous theorem at Secondary 2 (Grade 8). We learn basic calculus like differentiation (Power rule, chain rule, quotient rule;etc) and integration at Secondary 4 (Grade 10) or for some school, Secondary 3 (Grade 9). We learn logarithm at Secondary 3 (Grade 9). We learn prime factorisation at Secondary 1 (Grade 7). We learn placement of ones, tens, hundreds;etc at grade 1 (Primary 1). We learn tesselations at Primary 5 (Grade 5, even though I think grade 1 kids can learn this easily too). We learn coordinate Geometry at Secondary 1/2 (Grade 7/8). We learn Mclaren series at JC1/2 (Grade 11/12? Or some people call Higher 1/2??). Any other Singaporeans have similar education to me?
I heard the famous Chinese song "What a Beautiful Jasmine Flower" during the presentation, and Confucius figure appeared at the close of the end. It's so great Chinese cultural elements used friendly in a Japanese advertising video.
Well the very reason we have stumbled upon this video is that most of us are parents and that of children of about 5-6 year old at the cusp of school education. I feel what ever the education system in any school of any country may be , the extent of involvement of the parents (both) is a MUST. Parents are the ones who are truly concerned as to how their biological product shapes up . The focus of all parents must be to bring up a child who would turn out to be a happy healthy and one who could contribute to the society / country/world and whilst being that have sufficient money to live a decent full life. How to achieve that is the ultimate question. 'Doing our best' as per individuals strengths, by being involved 100% and believe that its going to be enough for their child is all we need to do. and rest is the SECOND miracle to be waited for and watched :) P.S ' A lot fo money' is a HUGE factor and is the crux of helping us to do our best.
Very interesting and enjoyable video. After reading all the comments, some from Japanese students, I wonder if this video represents all, or even most of the schools in Japan. I am an American who worked in industry as a chemist for many years, returned to college at 50 to obtain my teacher certification. I taught in two schools, first in an immigrant community public school, then in a urban Catholic (private) school. After seven years of teaching, I decided to leave out of frustration. In the U.S. I would say economic status and the quality of education are interwoven. A financial poor family can get a good education, but it is not typical. For any viewers that would like to read an excellent book concerning education "The Smartest Kids in the World" by Amanda Ripley is a great read. Now, I tutor / mentor mostly international students. I find they are much more motivated to do well.
Steve.....the U.S. education system has been so bad for so long that it is no wonder that almost all of the other countries have a better one than we do. When I was raising my daughter I found that the education system was hooked on only one thing.....the very most basic stuff. Little Music. Little Art. All because of the Federal FCAT requirements. I spent hours and hours of my own free time educating her using PBS and documentaries to teach her U.S. history, History of the World, science, writing, and other such things that the schools just weren't. It was well worth it to me and to her, but not every parent has the time, the energy, or the incentive to do this. I also came from a family of teachers so to me there was no question about my doing it. You are not alone in leaving teaching in the lower levels of school. My dad was a high school teacher in the 1950s and early 1960s, got his PHD in K-12 education, went back and tried to teach high school again, but it had changed so much he just didn't like it. He went on to teaching community college. He taught Geology and Physical Science at our local community college for 26 years. He's retired now, but still goes and volunteers at a local elementary school. Teaching the kids how to do science fairs. He's there every single day, and has won many awards for his volunteerism. It's nothing like the One room school house my Great Aunt taught in in Missouri. Back then an education was something to be striven for. To gain an education meant a much better job, and a better way to support your future family. Teachers were honored and supported by the community. Parents were part of their kids learning process. Enforcing homework rules at the kitchen table before bed. Sometimes double checking the kids efforts. Today our teachers are not, for the most part, respected. They are paid a pittance, have little or no control of their students in class, and many of the really good ones end up using their own money to buy supplies for the students of their class. Something has to be done about this...but what I don't know.
Primary education in Japan and other East Asian countries is based on rote memorization. So no creativity there, at least as Westerners recognize it. Though, one big advantage of such a system is that students are drilled in basic subjects from a young age. Perhaps this is why one sees many Chinese students in US universities; China has a primary education system based on rote memorization and students seem to have a good command of basic subjects such as math and sciences, but in high school and university more creativity is required, so this is one reason why many Chinese exchange students attend universities in North America and Europe. I think that in North America and Europe primary school should include more rote memorization, at least to allow students to have a firm command of basic academic skills, such as math and reading, in preparation for later school grades.
People need well training and descipline, not well education only, in the end skills, creativity, Manners and descipline matters the most. It will bring you to success. I love Japan😍
As someone who has been going to Japan for 25+ years, I would say not creativity so much, but more like impeccable social manners. The creativity part comes from the idea as long as they do what they are "supposed to do" socially, they can be personally expressive in clothes and what have you. That may be the benefactor to this creativity.
How to live with discipline, confident ,morality, ethics are the core importance of education system.Their education system is excellent and highly respectable.....We have to notice another thing 💐💐💐💐Teachers eligibility and training would be intensive and fantastic moreover learning in the same curriculum it’s easier for teachers to be a great role model or example....

Aint that the truth "manners" really do matter.
But people already born with with developmental script... Nurture is far from being absolute.
Your attitude is the first thing that people see coming.
Right it's the first step to everything

When wealth is lost, nothing is lost
When health is lost, something is lost
But when character is lost, everything is lost.
Japan is such a beautiful place. The mythology, places, and history. Anime is one of my favorite things from Japan.

Stella Chan fuck that school anf my school too god I wish I born in japan
Stella Chan HI NOOB PERSON
Stella Chan lol u know in the Philippines... Public schools wear the uniforms and Private schools wear normal everyday clothes
THE LLAMA SQUAD NATION
Not entirely true.
*grade level

.......and all these to equip you to aim to entice a white foreigner to marry you and hope for a better life as most Filipinos are desperate to live their country due to poverty or maybe they don't find their men attractive!
Collective good is part of their culture.
im from israel, we have almost nothing in common except the exams that determine our life. after those exams we have to to the army for 3 years. after that we can go to university or start working. no one can survive without graduating college or something that will help you get a work
asaf eliezer make peace with your neighbors .. education starts their first
It's a very practical educational system, which teaches the child to grow as a good human being. Respect Japana!!!
To change the education system for better, the need to change the people mind first.
R Gonzales I agree with you. NAT is useless.

Whichever country is following this it's really good ;atleast some of us in the world have meaningful education because a child needs right guidance and we will hope most of the countries should know the importance of this and adapt it in the near future
That's why i like japan.
Even though we in India feel we lack something in our education system, we have consistently produced some of the best minds in the fields of science, arts, technology and healthcare. I like what japan is doing but believe each country has her own ways to achieve success.
Dude, the last time someone won a nobel prize from India was Ramanujan. We have not won any since then
But if we can change our educational system then more great minds would be produced by our country..

Japan is the best place to study. It doesn't only educate people but also teach them extraordinary things. In India we have only homework load................
they also have homework. but in our country ony exam and only exam

Most importantly, as a teacher I know the importance of children having respect, because I have students that disrespect the learning environment daily and I have to make sure that I model and teach them the value of loving themselves and caring for others.
i started my first exam in age 5 years old😂😂

I agree kids need to first learn how to be kids.
Which is actually the BEST part of the Japanese education system if this video is accurate. After that, it begins to go downhill to where the kids end up getting classified and labeled like the residents of a beehive.
This is so true. This is why my kids have to play at least half a day. Somedays, it is even longer and when the weather is nice, we spend much of it outdoors.

cutekaji There's also the view that the ultimate goal is to get hired to a large Japanese company which doesn't really require a lot of creativity (but I might be wrong).
cutekaji i also think the pressure is really high there, I am a tescher in holland and the system is so diffrent here and like it better because most shool do develope creativity and school presussure isnt that high.. if we cant go to univirsity then we first got to college and the uni.. and like there is ALWAYS a way to do what u love
That's where I think Finland is doing well, they're reducing workload in terms of homework while simultaneously experiencing a boost in productivity and results, and experimenting with letting younger people specialise (almost major, I guess?) in certain subjects from an earlier age!
ml yesoof idun i TOTALLY agree... when i was going to 3rd year of high school i also kinda specialized already but i could go every direction if i wanted... i mean i am not officially a teacher but doing the study to become one... but education is a huge rile if my life and i think it’s so important as it shapes you who

(We finish our tiffin before lunch break😹 Eating during class)
4. They are strict. We live under decipline. We are not even allowed to date in school😹(We do but we don't let teacher catch us)
5. From 11th grade, we have two choice. Arts or science(PCBM) So we basically seal our future by 11th grade.
Everything is great but 1 test to determine future is the worst thing ever
hahaha, we've got smth similar here. The tests' names are ОГЭ (Basic State Exam) and ЕГЭ (Final State Exam)
Илья Крамаренко oh I didn't know that
*histeric laugh* btw, I have 6 months 'til my ОГЭ *histeric laugh*
All the best
I hope you'll do well🙂
Business Talk it's something me and my friends say frequently during exams😂😂
Wow💕 its so very interesting..especially the children that they need to explore, expose and experience first, and all the culture and tradition of japanese education system.thats why the tradition is so very strong..
this Japanese method of develop Creativity in kids is awesome .. thanks for your content so much
Japan is really the best country you'd want ur kids to grow in !!! I'm from Morocco and trust me, u don't want to know what the educational system is like here !!!
Sha My Yeaaa, and it has the highest suicide rate among students in the world, because they are so stressed out in school
i agree i m from Morocco too the system eduction here is horrible الله يدير الي فيها الخير

Just sayin'
In the Philippines we usually start classes at 7am and finish at 5pm.
I like the nameless paints!!
It helps us understand what shadings we'll get. 🙂🙂
By watching the video, I got to know and learn a lot about the school and the teachers. The video is really beautiful. I like it very much
The best nation.
I'm grateful I watched this.
I'm happy to see some ppl have good start-up in life on this planet. It means IT CAN BE.
Mixing China, Japan and Korea is so frequent. Don't worry. The Asians mix English, Irish, Scottish, French, Germans, etc are all the same.
Maybe Japanese universities are easy, because students have learnt how to do chores?
You guys rock.... RUclips is meant for you people... Keep sharing Infos like these...
Cars, Electronics, people i have been communicating are telling me more than your faxes :) sorry
look, Ahmed, I don't know where you are getting your information, but the idea of Japan being technologically advanced ended in the early 1990s.
Why don't you leave Japan then ?
Here in Singapore our education is fast. Not sure if our education is harder compared to the rest of the world, but we start at the first Monday of January (Primary school and Secondary school). Usually, we have to gather at 7:30am and sing national anthem. My primary school ends at 2:00pm while my secondary school ends on 4:30pm on Mondays, 3:30pm and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday, and 12:30pm on Friday (I think every Government Secondary school in Singapore on Friday ends at 12:30pm). Yes, almost every weekday is an education acedemic focus day, but my school hold events like Fiesta, Sports day, Mass Run;etc
Holidays are on Public Holidays, Marking days (typically a day after School Major exams like SA1/SA2), a week in March, 4 weeks of holiday at end may to 3rd eeek of June (Even tho first and last week is typically taken as consolidation week or revision week by teachers) ,a week in September, End of October to First day of Janurary (Secondary School) or mid November to First day of January (Primary school).
That's why I am a fan of Singaporean education. I salute it.
lightningstrike2001 I am Singapore I am p6
Same standard in ICSE board schools in India.
Manners before Knowledge 💖👍🏻
The reason why I really Love Japan💕
I heard the famous Chinese song "What a Beautiful Jasmine Flower" during the presentation, and Confucius figure appeared at the close of the end. It's so great Chinese cultural elements used friendly in a Japanese advertising video.
Really vry nice like it 😊
Well the very reason we have stumbled upon this video is that most of us are parents and that of children of about 5-6 year old at the cusp of school education.
'Doing our best' as per individuals strengths, by being involved 100% and believe that its going to be enough for their child is all we need to do. and rest is the SECOND miracle to be waited for and watched :)
P.S ' A lot fo money' is a HUGE factor and is the crux of helping us to do our best.
Education is a type of business today in India no matter what's creativity
Exactly
awesome!
I think these style of teaching should be adopted here in the Philippines!
Philippines’ academic year starts on the month of June but sometimes college students start at the month of August😊
School bags.
Design may be modified based on shoulder movements enable free blood circulation.
A very commendable ... Shape the future citizens of the country !
@Steve T -- Kudos to you!!!
Steve T hI. I wanted to be a chemist, infact I enrolled but only until first yr due to lack of finances. happy to hear abou a chemists comments here 😬
Visit the paris city
Please can you help me with the book "The Smartest Kids in the World" by Amanda via andowfredrick@gmail.com?
I too love Japan and japanese, Japan is a cool and amazing country, no dought...
Very nice video, and they work until they die at their desks
As someone who has been going to Japan for 25+ years, I would say not creativity so much, but more like impeccable social manners. The creativity part comes from the idea as long as they do what they are "supposed to do" socially, they can be personally expressive in clothes and what have you. That may be the benefactor to this creativity.
Yes, In the India also academic year starts from April 1 .
I soo much love Japan! :) I am from India :(
Arefa Ahmed same I luv Japan
Pramod Nayak weeb xD
Arefa Ahmed same
Saniya 7087 even though japan killed Indians during the war and ignores it in their text book
I am a Japanese. Thank you for making this cool video!😎☺️
ピカチュウ but I see a lot of Japanese people say this is not true
@@awilliams7607 what do you mean by not true 🤔
