Clifton id be really interested in more videos /detail or whatever on what you're doing there especially over hand style. I know you play primarily two finger picking but I'm only just getting to grips with over hand. It was this song that made me pick up the five string again after years of it gathering dust in the corner. I signed up to your patreon site yesterday some good stuff on their. Cheers Dave.
your video lessons seems to have come along way since you first started your patreon. it making me want to get back into the banjo a bit more seriously again, cheers for your work
So as soon as I started bending them strings I kept blowing up my tuning. I'm playing an inexpensive Alvarez flattop with the resonator off. Any recommendations on decent tuners that will handle bending better? I plan on incorporating this into my overhand playing cause I love this tuning and this style of playing.
Sawmill tuning has such a mysterious bad azz sound! I think yours and Lily May Ledford`s versions are more traditional and like them both. Pharis and Jason Romero do a Wild Bill Jones version that sounds like another song all together but I like that one too. Anyways great video!

Great lesson Clifton, you have that picking down to a fine art!
That sounds a lot like Bloody Bill Anderson, which is a song I love in a bittersweet way Clifton. Great picking.
Thanks for that great lesson, Clifton!
A lot of funny things to be played now on my banjo.

Buy some geared tuners, 5-star or Gotoh are pretty cheap.

hey man i know this was whole year ago but what it is that banjo i’ve always wanted to know
That was a circa 1910 Weymann "Keystone State" banjo. The 5-string models are very rare. I sold it a while ago after playing it for about ten years.
