- Fighting games are hard, thats true. But respectfully I am built different... or am I? Today on the channel we are going back to Guilty gear strive to try out the brand new dlc character Bridget. Will we be able to get a single win after a long break away from the game?

Guilty gear strive was the first game that made me get into traditional fighting games. I really hope you make a couple of more videos for this game!

Dude I always forget the DP in particular lol. Bridget is the only character I have this issue with too, I don't really know why.

@@IM_ZAANX True! i got to 10 Floor really easy just by catching with Nago (Who has great convertibilty) all the over extensions, and pressuring with simple frame traps all the people who instead were too passive. Learning simple combos and which moves are punishable or leave you safe does wonders!
Any tips for Bridget vs Axl? I had no problem with him as I-No, but learning Bridget I can't wrap my brain around how to get in. And staying away seems to play too much in his favor.
I don't have enough experience with either character but ill heart this in hopes somebody more experienced sees this!
i'm strugglin with bridget vs zoners too but i've been playing these MUs nonstop as of late so i can try to give some tips!
1st, axl 5P is one of the most problematic buttons in this MU for sure, as we're one of the few characters that can't reliably run under it. but if you're at around midrange, you can actually duck a 5P by doing a running 2S. it's obviously a guess but if you find yourself just at the tip of 2S range and your opponent has been throwing out 5P a lot, that can help you snag your turn. since you're an i-no player who has no problem with axl, think of run 2S as kind of like stroke in terms of low profiling 5P. from there you can do a gatling into 5H into 236K, or just directly use 236K from there, and then you're in! run your offense and make him pay.
related to that point; if you make him block any of your moves at all, even at max space, you're basically guaranteed a way in if you have meter, because you can do 236K (hold forward so you get the fast version), a follow-up, RC on block, and then you're in. as far as i know, the only way he can actually counter 5H into 236K on block is if he has super, but otherwise the gap is too small for him to actually mash with anything. this is one of the most important things to remember for the MU.
2nd, react to his command grab (the one where he sticks the sickle into the ground) and airdash over it to get your turn. it's very committal, so watch out for it and work accordingly.
3rd, dash block is your best friend. a unique thing about strive is that you can use the dash macro to dash forward, and then almost instantly start holding down back so you auto-block anything while you're dashing forward. this is scary for axl because it gives you a safe forward movement option that he can't easily stuff-- he has to get a pretty awkward timing. don't get antsy, keep chipping away at that wall and you'll begin to close the gap and get him to start picking more panic options.
^^ related to the point above, jump airdash is a strong tool when the axl is doing options that are committal, but otherwise try to refrain from getting antsy and airdashing, because good axls who aren't in some kind of cooldown will almost always nab the reaction anti-air. unlike with some more hefty characters, bridget has pretty low health, so you really don't want to gamble your health away. every decision counts. hold your ground and only jump when the axl is focused on keeping you locked down on the ground.
4th, an axl who's been approached is like a cornered animal. he'll do everything he can to get you off of him. he'll mash 2K, he'll mash throw, he'll mash super. just be aware that his defensive options aren't that strong, so keep your cool and run your offense-- just don't leave gaps that are too big in your offense. (oh, and also, punish super by blocking the first hit and then jumping over the second, because the second hit is safe.)
5th, if he tries to cancel into snail (the move where he tosses the sickle somewhat circularly, sort of like the shape of a snail shell), know that that move is super minus. unlike most characters, who get to take a turn but not a punish, i BELIEVE bridget can actually punish on block with 5H or 5S or something of the sort.
finally, and this is more of a bonus because this option is admittedly kind of jank and it's just nice to have more options-- the roger projectile super (hcb-f HS) has crazy priority-- if you catch the axl doing something committal you can get a knockdown and chase him no matter where you are on the screen. you do already have to be buffering it to get a punish, but it's a nice hail mary if the going gets rough.
the zoner matchups are tough with bridget but it can be done! it requires patience and experience, good luck, and may you be blessed with correct guesses on every knockdown.

No Mercy soundtrack for Guilty Gear X (1:05); pure legend. BTW Bridget's yoyo follow-up dash is easily punished when blocked and you're not safe while travelling (not the same as a super dash in DBFZ)

Watching Guilty Gear videos makes it hard to pay attention, cause the music and visuals are so good you forget what's being said and done.
Also, in terms of characters, you might like Sol as he's really strong and built around rushing in so defense isn't as much of a worry.
I know nothing about guilty gear but bridget and that theme make me wanna play it. That song goes hard
As a little tip, you play Bridget really aggressive even against characters like Pot and Baiken. Try to use her huge normals to zone and play keep-away against them

Gotta respect when people post their losses. I always feel like what stops new players from getting into the genre is that they think that they will always lose cause the people who play fighting games are untouchable gods. To any other new players I promise that most of us are not that good.

So fun fact: floor ten is nightmare zone of hell. After getting Celestial once, you can no longer fall below floor ten. It kinda seems like floor ten is almost turning into celestial in a way. That huge power gap between floor ten and celestial now exists between floor 9 and floor 10. It also can’t self correct itself either. If you got Celestial in the first few months and quit the game, the rest of the game has leveled up dramatically but you can’t fall below ten.
It’s the “why won’t you just let me die?!?!” meme brought to life.

I don't want to reach Celestial then, at least not yet ._.

The first match being against a Zato is funny to me because on day 3 of learning this character I ran into a Zato and we kept trading games for like 20 games trying to optimize the matchup
