Hi Austin from the UK. I made this and it was delicious! I had some melon hops left over and trawled RUclips for ideas which lead me here. Not a commonly used hop but great for this style.
I was hoping no one caught that! I fished it out with a sanitized spoon. Probably wouldn’t have mattered but my internal ports have gotten clogged with less 🍻
@@estock15 Appreciate the feedback, not to worry, the pack was smacked. But when pouring sometimes it’s hard to keep track! Hope you enjoyed and come back!
I dunno, batch sparging an all-in-one seems a little pointless. You can sparge with cold water even after re-circulation and have amazing efficiency (and way more clarity), my dude! I still liked the vid, but sometimes don't have to rush it. Also Strike water temp is Higher than the 149 you set.. not a huge deal, just added melanoidins or denaturing,... didn't do a PH test, so this must have been a regular brew for you, I would never assume the lactic acid addition. Your strike water temp should be about 8 degrees hotter for this batch. Great production value.
I do think the taste will develop in time, but best way to tell is by trying it! Maybe I’ll post an update after it’s lagered for a bit longer. A highlight of this recipe was hop character, which is why I was excited to try it fresh! 🍻

Love your short, straight to the point videos! Keep it up. Cheers.
I love to add huell melon to a Hefeweizen. Goes really good together as well
I’ll have to try that! One of my favorite hops for sure.
Nice brewing setup! :)
Nice vid! Would be interesting to make a Radler with that
Absolutely! What an excellent excuse to grab some fresh watermelon 🍉
Nice video!
Did you fish out the internal bag from the yeast pack or let it ride till you where done?

May not have been clear (yet) but still looks delicious!
Cheers!
you pitched the nutrient packet lol?
Got to make sure all the nutrients are in there!
(I fished it out a bit later not to worry)

I like your videos, but trying a Helles after a week of lagering is pointless. The taste is nowhere near what it should be.
