Good gracious. I was in grade school when this first came out, way back in G2. Now I'm in my twenties and it's still goin'. Mabinogi's taken some turns that I wish it hadn't, but I still love it for the friends I've made and the journeys I've had
iMewsturbate Maybe for you, perhaps, and I'm glad you enjoy it, but I unfortunately don't like the directions they went with the story and systems. Back in the day, Mabinogi was purely medieval-feeling and very deeply steeped in its Irish mythological culture. These were the things that drew me in originally. Those elements _are_ still there to a point, but they're either now all outdated, heavily de-emphasized, or in the case of the Medieval-feeling classes, just flat out not viable to use anymore. Now its theming focuses a lot on anime tropes and appealing to the otaku crowd. On top of that, many more of the sequences and setpieces are over-the-top compared to the earlier days. I mean, I'm sure some people are OK with that, but you can go to any big anime-styled MMO and get that same deal.

Hanstone is a nickname for " Lee Sok-Ju"- 이석주. He was in charge of most of the Mabinogi songs in the beginning. " Old story from Grandma" is also developed by him. Right now all the recent mabinogi songs are created by StudioEIM, the professnal music development team which is lead by Shin dong hyuk(신동혁) If any songs in Mabinogi in the website refers "Mabinogi" as the songs' artist, then it refers to the EIM team
I remember this game came out when i was 13 years old.....dang now i'm 23!! O.o, i spent so much money on this game lol!!!!! However, back in the day i loved this game, it's where i made so many amazing friends....i was a member of the moonbunnies guild, they made me feel like family :(
Lol tell me about it. I was soo addicted to this game. The moment I woke up on weekends I would get on and play--I guess it was because I was really shy at the time (transition from homeschool to regular school) and didn't really have any friends but I had friends on the game. I remember one time my dad needed the computer and he force closed the game when I was one room from the boss room to become a dark knight--never forgave him for that but I could see why he did it from his point of view. I remember when the new continent became patched in, man that was exciting!
I played this game for 3 years back when I was 15, now I’m 27 and engaged. I spent so much time and money on this game, but no regret, I loved it, it was my favorite game. Jingyu(Alexina)
I can only pray and hope, that we last 'till that day. Walking through Dunbarton and seeing only 3 kiosks when there were dozens, and deserted streets where there were once many makes me fear for the future of mabinogi.
Ahh, Mabinogi. In my opinion, the best game that I ever played. I've played since beta, when I was about 10 or so. I'm still playing now, and the sad truth is, I miss being a noob. Back then all you wanted to do was dungeon, make friends, and sit around fires and talk. But now everything is about CP, items, gold, and dueling. I haven't seen a fire in months...
Mabinogi was my very first MMO that i had downloaded on my first computer. It shall always be my favorite computer game, no matter how much it gets somewhat neglected by Nexon and its players that gave up on it or left it for whatever reason. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to ditch a game, especially if its something that you dont like, but maybe in the future, Nexon players will come back to it and relearn it, possibly leading to a deeper appreciation for Mabinogi.
Ahh.... Mabinogi. Truly you are the best MMO I have ever played. Sadly you are now gone from me. After four years of playing, I gave up on you. You will forever be the best MMO I have ever played and nothing will ever beat you. However times have changed and now I am a college student. Thank you for being with me throughout highschool. You were truly a great memory.
i found this game out when it was only in japan and Korea and then about 2 years later nexon took over wiznet and then all of a suddenly i found it and my life has changed because of it.
mabinogi's just not what it used to be, especially the people. there are a ton of rude elitist people, and there just isn't that sense of community anymore. Be nice to noobs, don't go insulting people you ain't even know lol. Smh

Mabinogi is AMAZINg and the gameplay is very versatile.I started it recently and the MUSIC is so addicting and you get to be anything you want.You compose ur own music and lots of the quests arent grinds and I do mean LOTS.YOU GET TONS AND TONS AND TONS of quests.this owl keeps flying around dropping messages for u to let u know about quests.ther s just SO much content in this game .I MUSt tell you to try it out.Much better than vindictus (which i think is good for those tat like gore)
I actually just started playing Mabinogi. My cousin said that I would be interested in it, so I gave it a shot. Now, I'm an Elsword player, who is used to the arrow keys beings the keys you move with. I was going all over the place. And I couldn't fight well either because instead of pressing x and z, it was the mouse. I ended up rage quitting after dying a few times. Now, the next day I played it, I loved it. I really enjoyed the game after that.
Saying that makes you seem like you have no reaction speed. This games combat is based on reaction. You must load counter once a smash is load up. You must load smash when a enemy has def. You must load def after counter. You must windmill to get your self out a jam. You must use ranged skills well to stay alive. If you can't do that... You fail, thats the bare minmuim of reaction in this game there is more advnaced tatics that involve combos that make your self untouchable.
Best MMO. Something about it. Not too much crap to do not too few, just right. Plus it's based, Story line and all, on actual ancient legends of the mabinogian legends and celtic belief.
Change ? Nerfing the gameplay and even shorting the G is different from a simple change. Well, everyone have his opinion about the G16, and I'm just like Windragon. I used to love Mabinogi because of the history, the gameplay and the hardcore that was in this amazing game, I always love the history but it's absolutely not as hardcore as it was and the gameplay changed. I stopped too, but I'll never forgot what happened on this game with the people I was with.

I played Mabinogi for two weeks with a few friends.. and I have loved that so much.. :C JUST TWO WEEKS AND IT BECAME SO MEMORABLE ALREADY I wanted to go back but Mabi keeps giving me errors, and redownloading wasn't that nice either... "orz Perhaps next time of redownloading will work. I want to enter this world again.. :C
i remember closed beta testing. it was so awesome. i made a friend named anabelle and we did quests together and tried to kill bears. it was a fun weekend :) then it ended. when the ending timer counted down, me and anabelle were sitting on the side of a hill talking about how we needa keep in touch and play it together when it came out. we did, but now i dont play. i wanna play again. those were good memories. :D
at the beta, people talk to each others, set and have fun. play together.people are also nice to each others. now the game changed to a game you just play individually and only thing you will do is just level up. i miss my friend too. but unlucky they already left the game.

+Drake Blue I can't relate to this enough. If anyone were to ask me what's my favorite mmo of all time, it's Mabinogi without hesitation. No matter what kind of game it becomes, the feelings and memories that Mabi gave me really did it for me.
did i say to change it back? i honestly dont really care anymore, im not speaking for everyone im speaking for the game specifically, also seeing what was wrong and what was not i can tell what could be using a change (including now) and what didnt need change, Mabinogi didnt always force you to play with others either, the game already had some solo content, maybe the only uneasy dungeon would be peaca but even with new chars i solo just about every other dungeon without much of an issue.
@Milk4ppl if your not having 5-10 second spikes where enemies such as an imp kills you when ur a 1k+ then there isnt much for you to complain about, here nothing being done on the lag for the Alexina server, only 1 channel is playable out of 5
I know that when my brother told me about how fighting and all that was like, i though that it would be really fun, but of course the computer fucked up again. As long as a game doesn't Just have 'turn based' or battles where you just watch yourself hitting a monster non-stop, i'd love to try it.

again they change things that they shouldnt change, like i said before. dungeons arent really that difficult and mabinogi is an mmorpg, it was designed for people to play with other people, not for soloing, you should play an offline game for that if you want to solo, people get angry at the changes that are pointless, like the combat for example, nothing was wrong with it at all and people got angry at it because it wasnt needed. Changes are okay as long as they fix something properly.
-______________- Um... The only thing that has a chance to bite my head off are freaking snakes with poison,bears and not alot more. Being a elf those are really the only things that might get me with there speed... (Also Ghosts but I am afraid to fight them because they are faster then me :D) Train up and you will be stronger then that spider... :P

Hmm. Well i know that my brother played mabinogi 3 or 4 years back i think, mainly because i didn't think that it would be that good of a game. That and my computer couldn't run it for crap, so I'll take a look at it when i am able to.
Yeah I know about hard games and casual people. But this wasn't a casual game, so that's why I really dislike this update. Of course this game is godly, but for me, it was, it's not since this update cause that changed the bases of this game. I was here for the gameplay and the background (who is freakin' good for a game, even if there's tons of heroes now x) ) and stayed because of this and the people who was playing with me, no, the people who populate Mabinogi. But since they changed this...
@mastachiefs49 Mabinog is a pretty big online game world and still expanding with it"s updates. In the begeining you had to pay to do story line misson but now there free. the dowbside is you have tp pay for pets houseing and Nao healinbg. Id give the game a 8.5
