Thank you for this excellent install video. I will be installing this same gusset kit and shock tower brace on my 22 XRS with Smartshox next week and this will be a valuable guide. I appreciate the tips you provided, probably saved me a lot of time and frustration. Thank you!
you can remove that bottom bolts from the inside without removing the skid plate .lol, you can put the hose outside the tower support and rotate the hose angle next time
I just wanted to point out that the 2 upright arms marked D and P are on the wrong side of the upper aluminum shock mount in this video. They should be behind the aluminum, not on the front.
Thanks , Yes it re mounted back in the stock location, only thing is be carful of the radiator hoses, it’s possible they could rub on the tower brace. I just used some split loom over the hose for peace of mind.
Hello , considering buying this kit for x3. Seems like a lot more nuts and bolts compared to another brand like tmw or s3? Curious why you chose CT and how how has it held up? Thank you in advance !
Hello, It was for my dads X3. If I remember right it was a full kit and you didn't have to remove the radiator hoses which some kits require you to do. Other than that ,CT Makes some great stuff. The ones you mention are great kits too, think its just personal preference also.
Im currently installing all of this on my 22, this video has been a big help thank you. I am however having a hell of a time getting that bolt through where the smart lock actuator gets in the way. I actually took all 4 diff bolts out but I cannot get it to slide far enough to get that bolt through. Were you able to just push the diff towards the driver side to get enough clearance?
Hows it going going I have a question for ya ..... on the shock flip I see now u have the Reservoirs out words I love the look people do that for the looks I think you did that cause your pops was installing a tank for your washer fluid so my question is did you have to trim the plastic around the shock opening on the plastics or did you just leave it alone I know on the older models people had to trim that opening for clearance but it honestly looks like there is room with out trimming how has that worked out for you did you trim or did you leave it alone ....?? Thanks for your time in advance brotha
Good morning, yea we flipped them to install the washer bottle and yes you will need to trim a decent amount out. Even after trimming it barley rubbed the plastic and had to trim a little more. One note though , it’s more difficult to adjust the springs once there flipped.
@@buckledupoffroad5937 mornin mornin okay coo thanks man greatly appreciated I'll keep that in mind if I do flip them .... and the adjustment thanks for the heads up ✌👍✌🤷♂️
To spin the bottom of the shock so the wires are on the inside, all you did was stuck a beefy driver in and turned? Is there anyrhing that needs to be loosen and does a specific rotation direction matter (cw, ccw)? Thanks!
Hey I’m installing this kit on my ‘22 w/smart shox. How did you get the wire on the bottom of the shock flipped? I wanna flip my shocks too but don’t know how to get the wires on the bottom in the proper orientation.
Ok I found the answer in the comments below. And you Just answered as I was typing this the first time haha thank you. Just turn it with a big screwdriver. Good informative video my friend.
How did you do the shock flip I did it but my smart shock wire is facing the tire now it's not on the inside like yours what did I do wrong ....??? I'm assuming just a big screw driver and turn the bottom of the shock but I was worried cause it's computerized how did you do it and if u did do it that way how has it been working out no issues thanks in advance brotha ....
Bad a$$ buddy I am doing the same exact kit same yr same model same parts but mine is ripped apart due to me rolling it 3 times lol 🤷♂️🤦♂️ totally trashed every corner side ect lol dam it but I can say these cars are super safe didn't even get a scratch on me but as I ripped the buggy apart I was just amazed to how shitty the structure on a 43 thousand dollar buggy is I just can't believe it so got every kit that you got but for the lower back firewall to access lower a-arms I just got my dremel tool and cut the plastic & that paper thin plate so I still have the og rivets in place and now can actually get a socket/wrench back up in there and also for another reinforcement which you have plenty of strength now but not sure if you know about this also but a company by the name called fastlab makes a fully metal fan shroud housing that also reinforces that shock tower and stops from breaking the tabs I also installed that too I'm sure that's over kill but that dam front end needs all the help you can give it I just can't believe how shitty and WEAK that front end is just unbelievable to me man wow but just throwing it out there might be something you'd be interested in checkin out its pricey its 399.00 but worth every penny to me just my own opinion like I said and you know first hand that buggy needs all the help you can give it but on mine I'm running the pre-runner can-am bumper and I got the super ATV black ops edition winch its total over kill but I got the 6000lb winch it was like a 40 dollar difference from the 4500lb winch so why not right anyways great vid man bad ass buggy
Sorry to hear about you rolling it, glad you got it back together. I agree how weak the stock front end is, I was a little shocked when installing the kit , as it was the first Can AM X3 I have worked on! Last Thanksgiving I smacked a tree in my Turbo S at about 30mph and put it on its side. The hit completely tacoed the driver side axle, A-arms, tie rods, also tore the front A- arm frame mounts off and that came doubled sheared from the factory. Thanks for the info on the fan shroud, will look into that. Were running a 6000lb viper winch as well, it fit great in the CT recon bumper. I have the 4500 on my Turbo S, and I feel like I should have more pulling power, all I could fit though.
I know your pain brothaa . I cartwheeled mine 3 times and I'm installing this kit with a double broken collar bone and 2 broken ribs in my back lol roll bar beat the chit out of me. Thanks for the heads up on the install 👍

Brilliant tutorial video, saves a world of pain for when I attempt to fit my ct kit, thanks from the uk
Great video. Appreciate your calculated step by step process.
Thank you !
Great video! Looks like I'll be getting this kit for my '23 X3 Max 64" model! Also like how they do the limit straps too!!!
Great video! I purchased the exact kit and plan on doing mine at the end of the month. Thanks for the tips.
Thanks, it’s a good kit. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for posting this. Your vid was super helpful. Just installed same parts on a ‘22 72” xRC.
Thanks man, glad it helped!
More then likely you installed the lower rear gusset backwards. That's why you had to pry it down to get bolt to line up.

Good Catch! Thank you.
Great video thank you
Did you get fan mounted with the tower supports in front of the cross beam up top? Good vid!!
Hello, thank you. Yes, it mounted back up, if I remember right I had to loosen up the bottom bracket to get it all lined up!
Thanks , Yes it re mounted back in the stock location, only thing is be carful of the radiator hoses, it’s possible they could rub on the tower brace. I just used some split loom over the hose for peace of mind.

Yep just loosen the diff bolts all the way and you can move it around as needed. I found it easier. Glad the videos helped.
Happy New Year!
Yeah, trying not to get frustrated. I’m in the process of doing this same kit now stab my head on those pieces a couple times.

Yep, just spin the lower mount with a screw driver or something, it doesn’t take too much force.
Thanks

Hello, just rotate the shaft to get it spun in the correct direction. I just put a screw driver in the shock shaft eyelet and turned it.

Yes , you just spin the bottom of the shock. You will get smart shox code at first but it goes away after it relearns.
@@buckledupoffroad5937 okay I figured but I didn't want to mess with it thank u sir greatly appreciated 👍✌👍
