You are the greatest bro. You have shared so much of your knowledge for nothing in return. N i appreciate that. I have grown from it and i am always thankful.
Thanks, it means a lot :)
Nice choice of kick 😉
Hahaha 🤣
Thank you man!!! that was a a very nice intro to this machine!!!!
Very helpful, thanks 😊
Hey man thanks very much for the shout-out 🙏Nice to see you've got to grips with this, I've had a lot of fun with it personally! By the way i didn't even know about being able to hold a pad to trigger sampling until i was reading the manual yesterday 😄
Me neither 😂 - (what a bunch of professionals...)
Haha same! I learnt that the auto-roll could be triplets if you hold two directions on the D-pad at the same. I discovered it in the manual AFTER finishing this video 😅
@@Woochia Ha glad it wasn't just me then! No surprise really though, they really packed in the features this time 👌
@@ChrisLodyMusic They really did, and without much of menu diving 😯 It's pretty well designed for that, and makes it really fun to use!
That was a nice an very helpful introduction to me, many thanks! 🙂
Software solutions are great but this hardware 8 track sampler looks far easier to use! Thanks for sharing such a useful tool! ❤
Great video, looking forward to more lo-fi xt vids🎉
This little sampler is loaded! Wow!
Thanks for including the IDM Demo Track in the beginning! Great review btw
This was my favourite, it sounds so good! :)
Great information
Thanks man!
Nice video, nice device. Seems like a Digitakt without per-step parameter locking.
It has per step parameter locking
happy 1 mai !!
Thank you!
Great vid :) what are the reverb n distortion quality like? lush n musical or a bit cheap?
Uhhh, waiting for mine to arrive!
Hope you have fun with it! :)
Hey man, I really really really appreciate the content you put out and I'm so thankful for it. I want to make a donation but I can't really subscribe to the Patreon given my financial situation. Is there any other way to donate but in a single time donation? I know I'm gonna learn a lot and I really appreciate that man.
Thanks a lot man. You know, only donate if you can absolutely afford it, but if you'd like to make a one-off donation, I think the easiest way is to use the super thanks button here on RUclips.
Hi there, great video on this product. I have question, what is the difference between the sonicware lofi-12 XT and the sonicware smpltrek?
They use the same hardware, pretty much, but the software inside is different. The lo-fi 12 XT is more sample oriented, like all the tracks are of the same type, and you have to use automations to use different sounds on one track. The smpltrek has different types of tracks, like drum tracks that allows you to load several samples on it. It also has a different ways to navigate the project... Both are pretty similar but it's mostly the workflow that is a bit different.
Actually, since these have similar hardware, I wonder if you can install the firmware of one on the other, one ' case you want to switch 🤔
is this like a cheaper version of the digitakt?
I’m new and I’m starting to make dawless beats but I’m stuck between getting sp404 mkii or lofi 12 xt. what do you think is best choice for me as a beginner?
I heard a lot of good about the sp404 but I actually never looked it up myself. So I would be able to do a fair comparison...
But there's something I need to try with the Lofi-12XT. It's seemingly the same hardware than the SmplTrek, so I wonder if you can install the firmware of the SmplTrek on the Lofi-12XT, meaning that if you get bored of the Lofi-12XT you can maybe turn it into another (similar) machine.
Can you record multiple sounds on one track like having kick and snare on one track and can you record track mutes into your sequences?
You can use several sounds on a track by using automation, like shown in the video. Or you can use resampling to record a kick and a snare on a same sample, then use the sampler slicer to play both part.
Both track mutes, I don't think you can automate them, but you can mute tracks while resampling if that's what you mean.
How to export or mixdown a song?
I have questions:
Q1: Can the drumrolls/ratchets be set to triplets?
Q2: Can it record off-grid performances? How unquantized can it get?
Q3: How much menu-diving is there?
Q4: Is the Decksaver cover for the Smpltrek compatible with this machine too?
A1: Yes! If you hold two directions on the D-pad (like right + down for example), you have triplets. A different triplet for each diagonal. I actually learned this from the manual after I made this video.
A2: Yes. Each note has a micro-timing setting to offset it from the grid. So by default everything is recorded unquantised, and you can adjust it by pressing func + a step button (where you can see the automations on a step).
A3: everything is pretty much at 2 button presses away at most (each pad of the top line of pads is a different menu, and you can access a 2nd page by tapping the pad again). This is really not bad I think. The only part that felt a bit menu-divy was the sample selection when you create track. Though the tag system and the ability to browse by folder makes it decent.
Menu-diving will more for configuration and more specific stuff.
A4: A priori, it is the exact same form factor than the smpltrek so it should work yeah.
about Q4: i bought the Smpltrek Decksaver for the Lofi-12 xt and it fits
Is it battery-operated?
You can use it with 6 AA batteries yes. I always used it with the power supply though
Your videos are kind of a beating to get through.
Elaborate?
yo website dont work cuh
Which do you have a problem with?
Hello please.
Nice video but you are bit too fast. take your time. be not fast with explaining and showing. I have to slowdown the video ))
