It is impossible. The violin/fiddle was not invented until around the 11th or 12th century. Nero was emperor in the first century. There was the lyre and we hear about it as far back as 1100BC when King David reigned-and even before
if he really did play the fiddle (or more accurately the lyre) he probably played something like "fantasma" by vessel. or some other really good piece that would fit well with the destruction of one of the greatest cities that the world had at that time

‘Corn’ was an archaic term for wheat.
Love the fact you used Michael Sheen's version of Nero! Michael Sheen is from my home town but he did play a brilliant Nero, he's an amazing actor 🙂

I always thought they meant Nero was "fiddling around" (i.e. wasting time) & not actually playing a musical instrument (i.e. the fiddle).
