I feel like the Sega CD and 32X should just be considered part of the Genesis as they weren't separate consoles and rely heavily on the Genesis hardware itself, not really much different from using the Master System converter if you ask me.

I like how sonic origins just saved nintendo switch from having one of the lowest numbers in Nintendo family
And it's STILL multiplatform. lol If Sega was smart, they would release their own console/handheld hybrid and make all their Sonic games exclusive for it, past, present, and future! The kids will follow. Sonic is the only franchise they seem to care about from Sega.

Series X, easily. You have Sonic 1 - 3 & Knuckles, CD, 4 Episodes 1 and 2, Adventure 1 and 2, The Fighters, Unleashed, and Generations via backward compatibility, and Mania, Forces, Colors remastered, Frontiers, Origins Collection Plus, and soon, Superstars. Only games missing are Heroes, Shadow, and '06.
Heroes should definitely be on there! Shadow? Probably. And '06, despite it's infamous flaws, bugs, glitches and the kissing scene, it is very goofy to see it on Series X.

Sonic toast it's been a long while! I remember watching your stop motion videos ever since I was little and I've been wanting that Mario kart 64 Mario figure along with Luigi and I finally managed to to get those figures.

Love it to bits well done but you forgot to mention Samba De amigo (sonic and green hill zone appear) and samba de amigo Party central (has sonic in it and escape from the city and fist bump songs)

Speaking os SEGA going third party Sonic toast should really look into the Yakuza series from SEGA.
Probably one of SEGA's most Underrated and Unappreciated franchises of all time.
You forgot to mention that the X360 version of Nights into dreams on the live arcade has Christmas nights meaning you can play as sonic there too. Also I never knew about Fighters Megamix and Mighty and Bark appearing there.
Sonic is only in the Sega Saturn version of Christmas NiGHTS.
It wasn't exclusive to the XBOX 360. It was also on PS3. Also Christmas Nights and Nights into Dreams are both from the Sega Saturn. There's also the Steam version. I hate when people keep crediting XBOX 360 for Sega games when they simultaniously released on other platforms at the same time!!!!
@@macuser7048 Xbox 360 was my go-to console for most of these Sega releases around that time mainly because it was cheaper for me to get than the PS3 (plus having custom avatars that you could buy clothing for). The whole reason I even bought one in the first place was because I was really wanting to get Generations when it came out.
Keep in mind that the Wii U is not only backwards compatible with the Wii, but with the Gamecube too
And the Wii U could play DS games but I'm not sure if any Sonic games from that system were available at the official store
Wii U never had backwards compatibility with Wii games. Also the Sonic Advance games were on Wii U’s eShop but only in Japan.

@@CullenRotten How so with GameCube games? Cuz Nintendo never put in backwards compatibility with the Wii U for those games. Also nevermind about the past comment, Wii games can play on Wii U, but not GameCube games on Wii U.

There was also a Sega Genesis collection for PS2 as well as PSP. Those also both have some exclusive titles.
Unfortunately the Genesis collection for the Switch doesn't have 3 or Knuckles
I'm not entirely sure if this fits the criteria, but you could've counted Sonic Classics/Sonic Compilation, Mega 6 Volume 3, and 6-Pak for the Sega Genesis since they all include Sonic 1 and Classics/Compilation has 2 and Mean Bean Machine
In summary, if you love Sonic get a Wii.
If we’re not counting backward compatibility, I’d say the gamegear or GameCube.

This is kinda made null by Origins existing on the platforms but the "SEGA Mega Drive Classics" Collection on current gen consoles don't have Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, so if you want S3&K on modern consoles you're gonna need to get Origins.
But it's a edited version of them.
And since the Genesis versions of Spinball, Mean Bean Machine, and 3D Blast are excluded from Origins (despite now having their Game Gear counterparts) you will still need that other SEGA compilation just to play those games.
Brazil ported a lot of Game Gear games to the Master System over the decades, both official and unofficial. They were obsessed with the Master System so it saw the most ports. Thing is though, Game Gear had a smaller screen so when they ported them to Master System, there was a lot of wasted space on the screen.
All this taught me is that alot of games with Sonic in them exist.

1 thing I forgot was the Xbox One and Series S/X play Roblox games, and Sonic Speed Simulator IS an official Sonic Roblox game made by Sega.

Sega claimed they have sold a billion Sonic games. LOL Majority of that tally was mobile downloads. If they did, Sega wouldnt need to be under Sammy.
Sonic Gems had unlockable Sonic Game Gear games as did Sonic Adventure DX.
Considering the Xbox Series S can only run games digitally some of the backwards compatible games shouldn’t be counted as they didn’t get a digital release like Sonic The Hedgehog 2006, Sonic Heroes and Sonic Riders.
Those unfortunately aren't part of back compat anyway tho
The Nintendo Switch has the potential to go from 31 Sonic games to 36 if the Sonic Advance games, Sonic Pinball Party and Sonic Battle will be released for the Nintendo Switch Online service
Something to note for the Dreamcast is that Sonic Adventure has a bunch of classic sonicgames you can play via emulation.
None of the PS3 games were available on PS4/5, a couple were on PS Now via streaming but were removed.

If you mod your 3ds you can put the rest of the game gear games on it and also the gmeboy advance games, 3d blast, spinball, robotnik's mean bean machine, knuckles chaotix, even a downgraded port of sonic mania plus

Since Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is counted, we can all agree it’s the best Sonic game.
Don't forget that there was a Master System adapter released for the Game Gear, so it's 18 games in total.
But he didn’t count the overlapping Master System and Game Gear games as separate games when talking about the Wii so they either wouldn’t count or the number of games on the Wii also has to be adjusted.

Thanks for the help. So it's best to play them on the Steam deck. I started with the Playstation sega collection. Because they are packed with blue color. So Sega colors. But then there are Nintendo exclusives, and digital game + special edition packaged games😵💫

Except the Master system games were already on the game gear, so we don't count them twice. The differences are too minor to count as different games.
Nice list, but it's a bit odd that there are so many non-Sonic franchise games in it, including the Mario and Sonic and Smash Bros. games. Those are all totally separate.

Hey! great video, but there are some things you got incorrect. For one, 06 was never on PS Now, so it was never playable on PS4/5, Sonic 2 is on the NSO Service, and Sonic 3 And Sonic and Knuckles were exclusive to the PC versions on Gennisis Collection Prior to origins wiping them off the steam store.
06 was on psnow in japan

The best way to play almost every sonic Game IMO would be the Steam Deck. But of course that's considered a PC. (Even without emulation)

PC has Sega Smash Pack volumes 1 and 2. It also had the Sonic and Knuckles Collection, the Sonic and Garfield Collection, Sonic R, Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic CD, Sonic's Schoolhouse, and probably some other ones I'm forgetting.

If only 7th gen emulation would be strong enough for any of the consoles, maybe next gen, I want nothing more than a Nintendo console that can play them all, PC can literally play every single game but hopefully PS3 and 360 emulation gets better and becomes as good as dolphin emulator

Interesting video, but admittedly after multiple views, it's pretty hard to follow. There's just too much, too fast, and not enough emphasis is given and time taken on those *exclusives* that make or break the top consoles. Also, I personally think that non-Sonic games where Sonic and friends are playable (ie. Super Smash Bros.) should be treated the same as those non-Sonic games where you can get Sonic skins for your character (ie. Fall Guys)... they shouldn't really be counted IMO.
Also, not all Sonic re-releases are made equal. The original Sonic Genesis games are (or at least were?) on Xbox Live Arcade as part of the Sega Vintage Collection, but those versions kinda suck. But the original Sonic 3&K is there, so crappy version or not, that's still an advantage over much of the competition!
Meanwhile, while Switch unfortunately only contains Sonic 1&2 in the Sega Ages series, these are two of the best, most faithful ports that (I believe...) are based on the original Genesis ROMs; either way they are very accurate to the originals in every way, yet they have some very nice, exclusive special modes and features (Knuckles in Sonic 2, Ring Keep mode, Drop Dash, force feedback, different game versions, accurate aspect ratio, decent scan line filters, etc...). On the other hand you've got Sonic Origins Plus based on Christian Whitehead/Headcannon versions of the Genesis classics built with a bunch of new features on a modern engine. Honestly, they're both great.
With all the Retro-Bit and 8BitDo classic game controllers and the official NSO controllers, and not only Sonic Origins but possibly some of the best "faithful" versions of Sonic 1&2... I personally think Switch is best console for classic Sonic, blowing everything else away.
Of course, there's also PC/Steam (if you bought the games before delisting), as well as the Sonic 3 Complete romhack, and Sonic 1 Forever, Sonic 2 Absolute and Sonic 3 AIR. I honestly think, for classic Sonic, Switch and PC are the way to go. All those retro third-party controllers work on both.
Quantity is not always better than quality... I learned that the hard way from Nintendo and Rare back in the N64 days. ;)

Xbox series X has 60 fps Unleashed and 4k generations. Those are basically exclusives
