i parried him too to oblivion because the biggest problem of radahn second phade is that you Can't see anything because of the ray of light so bloccking his combos is fantastic
Personally I tried to do a normal run first and did it up 50% HP. His second phase was hard. So I went to parry the whole fight. During that I somehow managed to learn some of his attacks and how to dodge them. That is pretty funny for me 😅
@@real_simbert Honestly the entire combat design of the souls games needs an overhaul, Sekiro showed how fun and fast a dynamic skill based system can be. It's still servicable but Elden Ring has shown how thin we are stretching it.
@@JustaSmilingHedgehog nah I am completely fine with that. In fact I started with Sekiro and changed to Elden Ring later. Must say I had much more fun with Elden Ring later. Maybe because Elden Ring has more content 😅
I wish not. Sekiro was it's thing. It's not good or bad game design, it's simply different. And for unparryable attacks in sekiro you still unlocked ways to counter some of them with skills. In souls-like the fun is trying to actually find out what is parryable (at least for me) And yes, i would consider it handholding if the game told you.
Luckily with this boss almost anything that clangs when you try to parry, can be parried. At least so long as his feet are on the ground. Like the two sword sweep you see him dodge away from at the very start can be parried, but the timing is harder than it seems. Elden Ring is definitely weird with its parries though. My least favourite is when enemies do swings through the ground and you can't parry them if you are standing in the wrong place because it goes under the parry hitbox (this is where golden parry can be great though).
Beat him with parrying as well but i used a maxed out blood infused misericord with the crit talismans (one that buffs crit damage, attack power after crits, and the one that restores hp).

@@real_simbert this is interesting. I don’t know how you can make those things more obvious 😅. What I basically did before was testing around with some tactics for example what damage type or what elemental damage he is weak to. After a while I discovered that he is weak to holy damage in the first phase and a bit less weak to holy damage in his second phase.

That's awesome. Just beat him for the first time after 12+ hours of attempts with dual katanas and only dodging. Going to try parrying next time.
