Hi, I comment on all your videos, hope you don't mind. Why you say about the basics is true. I am self taught, and would use sheer force of will to jump and spin. Now I'm working with a wonderful coach, who is teaching me the basics! I was afraid it would be tedious, but I choose to do this. But actually, I'm really enjoying it, it feels very satisfying to do these skills correctly. You can feel when it's right. And you end up have more power and control across all your skating.

Good question. With the free leg being in front and across the skating leg it "closes" the hips, therefore it's a closed Choctaw.
