May I know whether the shots during the race is also shot on your phone? If so, where do you store it? Is there like a holder in the helmet or something?
It seems the yellow flag system remotely shuts/slows down all karts at the same time but it’s not 100% reliable looking at the reviews. A lot of people just cruising whilst their co-racers fly past on green flag again.
Yea I ended up holding it super high because they don't give gloves and my hands were hurting a little. It also makes it easier to reach the buttons which are kinda weirdly positioned
These indoor tracks seem to be popping up all over the place all with similar karts with a few variations. Very similar looking tracks in gravity places e,g, gravity max liverpool. They are decent, racing against the workers seems to be the best bet for a decent race. London tax is steep in this place!
if you want petrol (and faster) TeamSport at Docklands is probably a better option (interesting they have discounts at the moment). Although it’s nowhere near as glitzy. With the F1 experience I’m assuming they just group people together as they arrive? I’m in London in April (solo trip) wouldn’t mind testing this out. Maybe over time they’ll bring in another step up in performance for the karts. Phone cameras do slow footage down (frame rate, etc), but your lap times make it seem like they were fairly quick. If I’m being honest the ERS, DRS is too much of a gimmick, the fact you can see live data on the wheel is nice though. Maybe they could build in a live delta too.
I attended today 1st May, it’s excellent, drove on the super circuit. Organisation, kart quality, catering and everything was 100% spot on. Staff friendly, helpful and knowledgable. I loved the DRS and ERS function. All things considered I think it’s excellent value. Quickest lap was 45.093. Will definitely go back
My take is that F1 is really trying too hard to bring in new fans towards the sport by baby proofing almost everything. First the game seems to focus more on loads of bright colours and way too many unnecessary assists rather than actual realistic car handling, the new race weekends in real life with the dumb sprints and sprint quali (purely just to have more action) which is not necessarily a good thing. Literally ask the drivers themselves and the long time fans of the sport. I can guarantee the overwhelming majority would rather stick with only the classic FP1, 2 and 3, quali and race. The stupid new street circuits like Vegas and now Madrid is sort of self explanatory (especially with the pothole incidents). And now this karting experience. I mean i wish this would be a proper outdoor, unforgiving experience which requires a lot more skill, with more than 1 braking point, actual throttle control, less grip on the track etc (as Alex mentioned in the video). Also as crofty said in the video, the f1 drivers started with karts. Like i dont want new fans thinking that this type of karting (in the video) is what the drivers grew up with, possibly diminishing their idea of the difficulty it took for the drivers to work their way up (as these karts are very easy to drive). Anyway i hope that all makes some sort of sense, im not hating either. And thanks Alex for the video ❤
