Incredibly well done. For me it clicked with Abe, with my own drumming at home, that he actually drags the tempo. He just barely hits the note where it's "supposed" to go, before it's considered out of time.
Sounds great. I know I've done some guitar tone deep dives before, and for White Pony, I recall Steph using his Marshall JMP-1 , through a Marshall 9200 power amp, into a Marshall cab, and the Nembrini JMP Pro is great for a solid approximation of that tone
Really interesting video. Both Stephen and Chino play guitar in this song, one of the very few they play together, plus Stephen has done a home studio video with a playthrough of the song
You should try using a piccolo snare or a smaller snare size/tighter tuned sample. Most pre processed samples arent good for the sound they had. You need a raw sample smack with a good amount of compression.
Hey Richii, I do a Deftones remakes channel for Crosses tracks. For drums, I use Steven Slate Drums Terry Date expansion pack, which samples the OCDP vented maple snare he used on Around The Fur
May be an unconventional snare EQ, but the snare’s preprocessed so you’re just fixing it to work better to taste. Also sounds like the snare is tuned up higher than it should be, even for Around The Fur
I had 30 minutes to kill waiting for the washing machine. Now it’s been 45 minutes and I jumped out of the chair, dropped my guitar to the ground and almost gave my dog a heart attack! What I meant by this is: thank you, amazingly interesting work!
@RichiiWainwright I look forward to it! Your channel is awesome for an aspiring producer. I also use Cubase, so I have learned a lot from you. Thank you again!
Super impressed with your production skills and ability to dissect engineering/programming techniques. Ever think of doing a Crosses production video? Keep up the awesome channel!
Hey man, great tutorial as always. Would you recommend that Hartwood guitar you're using? It looks interesting and I heard that it's a good instrument for the price
@@dziedzicprusky3141 I get asked this so much haha. They’re cheap but feel decent quality. Stock pickups were trash but I swapped em out. I basically bought it for how it looks but it is decent quality overall besides the pickups
Great video, nailed the tone. The synth though, isnt synth, its frank spinning a solid tone on a turn table and between the notes back spinning and then adjusting the pitch to bring it down, insanse that he does that live. Most of the weird noises are his turntable. Keep making these, love em.
I’m certain you’ve answered this somewhere, in some video before - but : What kind of guitar is that?! I’ve been wondering ever since I found your channel and started binging videos. I need to know!! Please? 😢
@@Chance_Audio I get asked about the guitar a lot 😆 it’s a Hartwood Charger. They’re decent guitars for the price but the stock pickups were trash. Had to swap em out for Seymour Duncan’s
@@hellaslayin7175 it’s because it’s a cracked amp micd up in a room so there’s electrical noise etc being picked up. Which is less of a thing when recording di
Underrated channel
agreed
Unbelievably underrated channel. Would love to see you tackle Numb
Incredibly well done.

I always thought the haunting background noises were Frank Delgado running his turn tables through Steph’s old guitar pedals.
@@bwbmusic76 it totally could be. I have no idea how frank does his thing but it’s probably way different to what I’m doing
Your channel deserves to pop off bro! Thank you
really happy about your content. love your nu-metal song videos, great tones, great production, thanks for uploading!
Pretty damn well done dude! Good job 👌
this is incredibly insightful, thank you richii
Not sure of someone has already put this, but doing a video of go to plugins you use, they sound amazing

Awesome video as usual bro! Never stopped to figure out all of those elements (the raised 6th was a surprise) thank you for breaking down this song!
Really interesting video. Both Stephen and Chino play guitar in this song, one of the very few they play together, plus Stephen has done a home studio video with a playthrough of the song
First leaving a like then watching the video. I like to come back to a new video and learn something new, you're doing a great job!

Super happy that i found your channel, you're great! Maybe an episode on how to produce Sleep Token?🤩
Coming in like 4 days!

goated channel, I would like to see you achieve the Superheaven guitar sound, never heard something that huge and I cant replicate it
I'd be curious on a follow up on if you did get strikes by this one, you nailed this one our of the ballpark on the tones.

These are excellent videos, my dude! Would you please do a Metallica production video? Preferably anything black album or before! Thank you!
@@theBlondBrogre black album would be a lot of fun. Definitely gonna be doing a Metallica vid at some point 🤘

Check out Ultimate Heavy Drums from MDL Tone for an awesome Deftones-like snare (with room & overhead mics etc.) Great library

great video man!
3:41 DEFTONE MENTIONED
Great video! I hear mid boost as nasaly and not upfront at all, the mid scoop sounds present to me, so I have the opposite fight- to add mids!
Please do A Perfect Circle 🔥
Definitely doing APC at some point. Billy's guitar sounds are my fav
