this is probably the best linkin park recreation on youtube negl. i havent really seen anyone else do it this good, every other one i've seen literally just sounds like a typical metal song with none of LP's nuances while this one nails pretty much all of them. 11/10
"It's got a really good scooped mids sound especially when you scoop the mids, which I've done." Best line ever haha. As a huge LP fan - This was really great!
I am absolutely loving these tutorials! I subbed after the architects one, and this one is insane too! It gives me a lot of new sounds/techniques to implement, mix, and mash to get a better sound that is still unique!
I would love to see you tackle the mid-era LP stuff. Especially that A Thousand Suns sound, which got a little more experimental, more electronic and even a little industrial in places.
A good piano sound I recommend is "Addictive Keys" by XLN Audio. All others I use/ know of are more orchestra oriented. Great vid! I love your sound breakdowns.
Yeah this is why they did it, to inspire people like to you. Bet they wish they had Cubase back then. All they had were 4 track tape recorders on the hybrid theory drums. Kick, snare, overheads and the rest were samples.
17:00 So a free one would be Keyzone Classic by Bitsonic but if you wanna spend money I personally (as a pianist) use and would suggest Pianoteq 8 Stage by Modartt 👍 The displacing only the Kick drum really helped, thx
Wow!! Found this channel few days ago and I’ve been through all your production videos ! All sound amazing, really inspiring … would love a video breaking down all the different presets and templates you have as I’d love to make my own . Seems like a great work flow having a huge palette of sounds all ready to go ! Awesome content ! 👍
@@edsheeransongbook3621 appreciate it! Glad you’re getting something out of these. I’m probably not gonna put out a video on the channel like that but I have some online courses coming in a few months that are gonna go suuuuper in depth on teaching you all this stuff. So keep an eye out if that interests you!
Regarding piano. I use the Korg M1 at times, classic aviicii house piano sound, but Cubase also has the Verve felt piano since V.12 or so. Very mellow, emotional, not great for a lead sound but great for chords or a background melody.
Great video :) When it comes to choosing a VST piano: - Pianoteq is great in terms of price/features and configuration options. If you have a good keyboard controller it has the best dynamic range in my opinion. If you like to play around with sounds and look for something unusual, this may be an interesting proposition. - Keyscape Grand Piano - it's not cheap, but the piano sounds phenomenal and fits very well in the mix. The instrument itself is also very comfortable to play. - Alicia's Keys by native instruments - in my opinion it is not comfortable to play, but it has an interesting sound and I really like the resonances there.
Hey Richii, i’ll start by saying that i love your videos, been following you for quite some time and your imagination to come up with so many original productions despite the fact that you base them on diferent bands just blows my mind. That been said i’ve noticed when you double track guitars you copy the audio from the right channel to the left channel, are u aware that if you copy the literal piece of audio you end up with a mono track? Don’t know if im explaining right, srry for that, but i thought to get a true stereo sound you have to record the same arrangment on both the L/R tracks. Again don’t want to come off rude just trying to share some knowledge, keep the good work mate!
@@sethbeats3546 appreciate the support! And yeah I’m aware of that. No point having stereo tracks if you’re not gonna record more than one take. I’m Not sure where you’ve seen me copying the same audio to L and R but I don’t remember doing that in any videos haha
Yooo exactly the kind of vid I’ve been wanting to see!! Personally, I don’t think you have to fast-forward through the repeating parts during the final play through. I like vibing to the whole song, but that’s just me.
@@MichaelDeane-i9n I always think twice about that when I’m editing. Maybe I’ll try the whole track in future and see if people watch it. Thanks for the support! 🤘
Awesome video as per dude, considering the amount of industrial stuff you do, I’m surprised you haven’t covered Ministry or Godflesh. As for piano plugins, as far as I’m concerned the native instruments giant and hybrid keys are my go to, dunno if they’re widely considered any good but they work well enough for me

AMAZING work. I can't imagine how hard this was to nail this sound that eluded so many others whom have tried over the years. Myself included!

I'd love to see one on Rain City Drive style music. I know its not as heavy, but I love the flow of it.

for paid stuff I use the giant or noir kontakt libraries
