I commented before. But i must add on...Captain Kirk did indeed die "alone". His point was. Without Spock or Mccoy he wasnt his best self. What made him successful as a captain only got so far. Picard had none of the skills McCoy or Spock had. And it killed him. Bless the greatest Star Trek Captain. Live forever Captain Kirk!!!!
This video is so brilliant! I can't help watching and watching it over and over again! It really makes me so emotional: the song is so perfect, the video cuts are so satisfying, and the coloring, the transitions, the quoted you used are just!!!!!!!!!! It's really beautiful, thank you so much for making this, and the other Star Trek TOS videos!
Jim-centered or not, this is awesome (although I did roll my eyes when I read the description). The colouring is gorgeous and the song is beautiful and perfect for the pre-reboot Star Trek. And the opening line is my favourite quote from Kirk (yes, I do like some quotes from him, however few they may be)
let me say first that i would kill a man for this colouring. it always makes your videos look so etheral and magical, and it makes the quality so fucking nice also i'm confused. because i'm feeling things and this song is making me feel things and so is the triumvirate, but i'm not sure what exactly i'm feeling, except for the overwhelming feeling that i'm really missing out because i don't understand a quarter of what's going on. first impressions: - "i've always known i'll die alone" right in the fucking heart, yup thx - "we were younger" TIME HAS PASSED. there is almost nothing that turns me on more storytelling-wise than the knowledge and feeling of time having passed and people having lived and experienced and Seen things, and they are older now, not the same people, but they remember their youth with fondness and know that they've all changed, and idk it's hard to explain, it's just - the concept of time being real. and it is in star trek. you can literally see it on their faces. - holy shit that is a really fitting song - it's fucking insane how much...subtle work must have gone into this. so many episodes and films, so many stories, and yet they flow seamlessly, there are so many parallels, so much interaction with the lyrics, and while i honestly believe i don't get 80% of them bc i lack the context, but damn this is impressive - that dude looks like john cleese - 0:49 i will never get over this bonnie and clyde look - LEN AND SPOCK - that is one fake-ass beard. he looks like andy serkis in aou - all the telepathic things. all of them. - the enterprise compilation!!! - "a golden age unknown" - this song was literally made for star trek. you can't convince me otherwise. - the torn v neck of doom!! - "your name is jim" WHAT DOES JIM STAND FOR - ALL THE HAND TOUCHING - 2:38 damn u shatner and ur handsome smiley face - THE QUOTE ABOUT LOYALTY. SO FUCKING GOOD - THE LAST SCENE. THE LAST FUCKING SCENE. I DON'T EVEN GO THERE. (this is a must in my every comment on your every star trek video) just. i'm not sure where my emotions are right now. i'm sure i'd be dead in a corner if i understood all that was going on.
Such a beautiful video. Heart-wrenching. Perfect fit of the lyrics with the scenes. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to see the characters grow from their thirthies to their sixties.
Thank you so much for lovely comment! It's incredibly rewarding to get such comments even years after making this video. I loved TOS so much, and I loved seeing over the years how the characters grew. You are so right, we are lucky to see them grow from thirties to sixties.
@@Wintersmith. It's such a pleasure to find these jewels on youtube. I also love TOS. I've watched the series twice these past six months, and I'm glad to find these great videos about TOS and the crew
@@annl988I don't want to sound too insistent, but I did a few other Star Trek videos back in the day, so don't feel pressured or anything but if you want, you can check out my channel for more. I did start watching Star Trek after seeing Beyond in theaters, and just needed.... More. Watching TOS was such a good decision
@@Wintersmith. I did. I like the video “Dream”, and I already commented on your AOS/TOS video about Capt Kirk, which is also an excellent video 🙂 you pick great songs and you’re really good at editing. When I like a video on a channel, I always take a look for the other videos.
Oh my goodness❣️❣️❣️Just BRILLIANT! Thank you so much for all the talent, time and work you put into this. If I had never seen TOS I would understand it just by watching this lovely piece of art! ❤️🖖🏻💚
"And i dont know if i could stand to lose you again..." thats heart breaking for sure

This has watered my crops, cleared my skin, refilled my whisky collection and added several years to my life
