Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too, Angela. You will have many more birthdays, Christmas and New Year with your whole family when you return in a few months. Although they don't celebrate Christmas Day in Japan, it doesn't stop you from enjoying the festive season. Growing up, we all enjoyed the festive season. We would go Carol singing for many nights and others would do the same and come to our home. My parents making delicious food and sharing them with our family and neighbours. We would all go to midnight Mass, come home, and regardless of whatever the time was, my mother would have a large meal prepared for us to eat. On Christmas Day, we would be visiting family, or having family and friends visiting us. As we get older, these are the traditions we remember and hold dear, not what presents we received or gave. I know you had mentioned previously that you lived close to your work, but I didn't realise how close it was until you started hanging your washing and saw your company's name on the building.

I am late and catching up with videos…you may have made a mistake in the past that had you work abroad but it taught your son a valuable life lesson about accountability and integrity. It also made his future stronger because of the support you brought In for him. Mistakes are the strongest teacher and I think you will do well now. You know the diamond bakery cookies and crackers…that was started by (3)Japanese friends who immigrated to Hawaii back in like 1921 ….they are the biggest bakery in Hawaii making cookies and crackers. It’s very special In Hawaii…we are strong supporters of local made products in Hawaii. It’s funny how it comes full circle to Japan now. Happy New Year Angela 🎉

Thank you, my sister for sharing your quiet and a bit lonely Christmas in Japan. I guess it has been that way for 10 years now. I also spend Christmas day with only our families doggie Tanner. My brother and his wife go to his adult kid's gatherings and my sister spends hers with her son's family and their in-laws Christmas party. Me and the doggie spend a quiet night waiting for my brother to return so he's not alone. Yeah, my only life's regret not having children or grandchildren. Oh well. My granddaughter is an emergency room RN, sometimes she does, my nephew is a policeman, sometimes he does. We have people from all countries working in the USA and they all celebrate different holidays that we don’t celebrate, companies shouldn’t have to close to celebrate all of them
Christmas is a Western Holiday. Personally, I believe Latin America celebrates January 6 more, Three Kings Day. Christmas is regional. PI celebrates it because they were under Spanish rule for over 400 years.

Thank you, my sister for sharing your quiet and a bit lonely Christmas in Japan. I guess it has been that way for 10 years now. I also spend Christmas day with only our families doggie Tanner. My brother and his wife go to his adult kid's gatherings and my sister spends hers with her son's family and their in-laws Christmas party. Me and the doggie spend a quiet night waiting for my brother to return so he's not alone. Yeah, my only life's regret not having children or grandchildren. Oh well. We spent December 31 without electricity. The whole island went dark again🤣. 1/3 of the island still without commercial electricity🤣
Really Why they don’t have electricity. No fireworks were set off either so that it would be bright.

@@janicelinett3702 Here in the USA we celebrate Christmas but yet lots of people work on Christmas Day. My son n law is a fireman, sometimes he has to work. My granddaughter is an emergency room RN, sometimes she does, my nephew is a policeman, sometimes he does. We have people from all countries working in the USA and they all celebrate different holidays that we don’t celebrate, companies shouldn’t have to close to celebrate all of them
I can’t believe you have to work on Christmas Day that people in Japan don’t honor Christmas. It’s sad.
Christmas is a Western Holiday. Personally, I believe Latin America celebrates January 6 more, Three Kings Day. Christmas is regional. PI celebrates it because they were under Spanish rule for over 400 years.
