I'm not a fan of GM products but I just purchased a 2018 GMC Terrain SLT Diesel and love it! I have owned smaller, German built and fuel efficient cars that are fun to drive. I took delivery the night before the big snow storm hit here in SE Michigan so the all wheel drive was sure footed and amazing. Still getting used to the size but the fuel efficiency is impressive!

Peter Wesley how do you know if you love it if you just took delivery??

I had had the car for about a week when I made the comment. Compared to anything I have owned before it, it's different. Bigger and I didn't realize how much I could appreciate a bigger vehicle. I never expected to like an SUV but I do. I drove a 2018 Dodge Dorango (sp) in Florida while on vacation and I am glad to have purchased the Terrain. I still have the VW and that is the best car I have ever owned as far as quality, fun, ride and maintenance goes.

Peter Wesley You'll never see a VW diesel in the states again....ever. VW really shot themselves in the foot with the diesel gate debacle. Cost them 30 billion with a big B. Watch the Netflix show on the VW diesel scam.its revealing and good. Glad you like your Terrain!! Tried to get the GMC in a diesel but they do not make it in a Denali version.

You are correct. I was a loyal VW Customer and stopped mainly because they promised to bring the European spec Passat that has still not arrived. Instead the same old rehashed vehicle. Not to mention the diesel debacle.

Hey Peter Wesley. Any updates on the Terrain? Still trucking along ok? Thank you.

Love the diesel terrain! Not uncommon for me to get mid-40’s on the Highway in good conditions. Wasn’t sure about the push button console but I actually like it more now. Really no need for a shifter since everything is automatic anyway. Pano sunroof is great too. Really neat car.

Got one of these for a rental for a week I was surprised how nice it was.. I actually liked it... wasn't snowing so I didn't get to use the all-wheel drive.. but it ran great for what it was.. power was moderate.. but that's okay it's a small SUV.. but I thought it looked really good

What the review also failed to tell you is that you can Not get the Denali with the 1.6 Turbo Diesel.

Great review as always, nice job! I'm not a fan of GM products but nice to see a diesel option for this vehicle.

The more I am researching a newer vehicle the more I notice the use of buttons to pull for transmission shifts. Moving in that direction like the new Honda Accord and CRV hybrids do not even use what is known as a transmission. Brave new world.

We like the Twin Clutch Awd system in our Envision 2.0T. It can send 100% torque to a single wheel while thr other three slip. That is .ore than all but lockers and xDrive by BMW.
We get 32 mpg at 65 mph or 30 mpg when loaded.

Holy Moly talk about sound insulating matting on the bonnet lid! Test driving this 2018 and looking forward to it. Used SLE Red 1.6 Eco Tec. Turn the auto stop off by selecting Low range and select 6th gear is that correct?

Well got to take the 2019 GMC Terrain 1.5T 9spd for a test drive. Not a powerhouse but it is adequate to get up to freeway speeds and merge smoothly on the highway. Lots of headroom as I am 6’3” and felt comfortable driving. Shifting tranny with pull buttons was different but worked fine. Like to try the diesel now and possibly make the deal on a used one. Cheers!

Christopher Douglas I should have been more specific - I thought the review was good too. I just disagreed that he talked too quickly. The only thing I noticed was he didn't put long enough pauses in between sentences

8K in and already had to take it back to the dealer. The SUV shakes heavily at speeds of around 60km/h or more.

I took test drive and it good diesel suv, but nobody talk on limited visibility a specially on left turn in round bounds. That really disturbing.

I have a 2018 Terrain Denali. As with any truck or SUV you need to use your mirrors for outward visiblity and I have no issues when I drive my Terrain. The 360 degree cameras are great when parking or driving through thights spaces.

Typical ugly GM interior that you have to pay a premium for. The pull buttons formthe transmission may be the worst execution of a bad idea

I have a 2018 Terrain Denali. The button shifter is actually awesome for parallel parking. I just keep my hand on the buttons and use two fingers to pull the trigger buttons for Drive and Reverse and it is much faster than pressing a button on a shifter and having to pull or push the lever into gear. Once you get use to it you won't miss the lever, unless you are driving a stick/ manual transmission which

I love the buttons instead of useless shifter - you do not shift anything unless you have a proper manual transmission car.

#BoycottGMCanada they take our tax dollars and then leave town. I don't think so, no GM products for me, ever again.

GM has pulled older ICE technology out of most areas around the world. Time for the new EV/AV push to lead the rest!
