I was in middle school when this song came out, and I loved the hell out of it. I remember getting excited when it would come on super early in the morning, while it was still dark outside, before I left to bike to school. When I heard their newer stuff getting more radio time and popularity, I was happy they were being recognized as a band, but I was also sad because it sounded so different from THIS album. This album makes me feel so fucking good when I listed to it, whether that's me being a nostalgic loser or not, and the newer few just fall flat for me..

I remember a mate of mine calling me when this song was in the charts and saying "I've got a spare ticket for Kings of Leon tonight, do you want to come?" I replied "You mean the band with the crappy 70s haircuts? Nah, I'll skip it thanks". I still regret not going but finally got to see them a few days ago, although the ticket was probably 10 times more expensive than in 2004

Me and my friend would always Jam this song in his garage, me on guitar and vocals. Him on Drums. And we just jammed for hours having laughs, funs, good times. I forgot about this song, but the name rang a bell to me so I clicked on it. And man those memories are flooding back.
I remember it wasn't cool to like this type of music in my school when it came out. I remember feeling conflicted because I didn't want to be judged negatively for liking it but then I remember I didn't care if it wasn't cool, you couldn't deny it was good.

Yeah it really lets you know all you need to know about them. The singer sucks ass and dictates his words like an actual window licker, but the music behind him can be pretty groovy.

God they were different back then not just to look at appearance wise but their whole sound vibe aesthetic etc everything back when they were still an alternative indie rock band before only by the night changed the game forever for them and made them overnight superstars they've been & stayed ever since now they're unquestionably mainstream household names but still just as great as ever obv ofc

I still love Kings of Leon with all my heart, but you have to admit, their older stuff is a lot better. Not saying the music they make now is bad, it isn't at all. But early KOL was amazing

People still have not realized the beauty of KOL's new albums... I'm sorry but I couldn't sit and listen to every single album sounding like Molly's Chambers, The Bucket, Trani, and Red Morning Light. Those are GREAT songs and KOL's first 3 albums are perfect, but ALL their music is AWESOME!!!!!!!! They put a twist into their sound because they wanted to have fun. If you listen to the albums that are "Oh so god awful" then you would hear this older stuff influenced in the new albums. In "Only By The Night" you hear A LOT of their old roots, especially in the song "Crawl". Come Around Sundown is absolutely great. In Mechanical Bull I heard roots from every single album, and it was awesome. I didn't like some new stuff at first, then I kept listening and it got better. KOL doesn't still suck ladies and gentlemen. They still play the stuff you love and the stuff you hate because they love it and they are making music. All their stuff is great.

Finally, I thought I was the only one thinking about the same jaja you read mind. For instance, Come Around Sundown is my favorite album although many critics claim that it was a "poor effort". The peculiar thing about this album is that you have to listen to it as a whole.

i started to listen to KOL back in 2008. and they're absolutely my favorite band ever. i love all of their stuff, and definitely don't think that they've "sold out." they've evolved and changed their music...and probably because they've evolved and changed as people. it's what happens when you grow. it's all good :) i have all their CDs in chronological order in my car and flip back and forth between all of them. can't get enough!
Real fans would appreciate their new and old stuff.

Started liking them around 2012 and got back into them in 2015, new album came out which was walls and went to a concert to see them, best time I’ve ever had

My youngest son had five years straight of AHA in the car CD player when he was born. "Number 6 Mum!!!" Taking him to our very first Kings concert next week.
KOL is one of the very few bands that are actually better live than on record. Not only do they sound amazing, but they have an amazing presence. Their shows are sooooo much fun. I just seen them live last month- it was the best night of my life. Everybody had so much energy- I was on my feet dancing and singing the entire time. They played The Bucket, and it was a blast. :D BEST fucking band in the world. They are my everything

Heard this song on the radio when I was in high school in 2004 but I didn't find out the name for several years. It was one of those songs that was always in my head even though I only heard it once or twice and I was dying to figure out who it was!
they sounded so raw and cocky when they first started, so much passion and grit! i miss the old sound!.......... i have so much love for the first 2 albums it easily eclipses the last 3! i don't blame them if they changed their sound to be more commercial..... everybody has bills to pay!

Their first two albums captured all of that. I'm glad I was a fan at the very start before the pastels and over productions took over. I'll keep this for myself, and remember what it was like to be fearless.
