    Whoever is the Mason. Wow, what an artist. Very nice job, hard to find a real stone Mason these days.

      Thanks so much for the very kind comment! A friend of mine and myself laid all the stone and I absolutely love what I do for a living. It’s very rewarding at the end of the day to see what you’ve created

    Nice job.
    I am currently having my sons barn (almost exactly like this one) re-roofed. Next, we need to replace one corner column, floor to roof and repair/replace the foundation.

    Can you explain in more detail, how you braced the barn before you started the digging? How far apart did you space the 6" x 6"'s? Did you dig a footer under the temporary 6" x 6"'s? How deep and how wide?

    The stonework is amazing but I am curious why dry layed?

    Unbelievable job! I am buying a home in a few weeks that has a barn just like this one. 40 feet by 60 feet. Termites and beetles have gotten to it, but I really want to save it. Any suggestions for short-term "solutions" until I can have the whole thing restored?

    Is that stone dry-stacked or mortared. It looks great!

    • @rocklayer2
      @rocklayer2  4 года назад +1

      wboquist It’s mortared but we raked out the cement around the outer faces of the stone so it looks dry stacked. Thanks for the nice comment:)

    I have a similar barn in NE Ohio but not as bad. What does the cost of a new foundation run?

    • @rocklayer2
      @rocklayer2  10 лет назад +1

      I was a subcontractor on this job so I'm not exactly sure what the total cost was.

    No video on How anything was done! How was the barn raised & supported? How was the rock work done? Why was it done on this barn? History & Worth? Is it a Timber Frame barn? This does not help in our preparations for our project. Disappointed.
