I agree. I’m an ER nurse, used to run on ambulances, and my first two thoughts were either seizure or TIA (transient ischemic attack), commonly known as a “mini-stroke.” What differentiates a TIA from a CVA (cerebro-vascular accident) or stroke is that a “mini-stroke” produces symptoms that generally last less than an hour, and, crucially, resolve without any medical intervention. Stroke patients and their families often report such episodes happening before the one that brought them to the hospital. Its also important to note that TIAs can produce symptoms that look like an absence seizure: the symptoms depend on what part of the brain is affected. I’ve no doubt the Senator has in fact seen a doctor since this happened, and probably has had a head CT conducted as well.
I also worked in a neurosurgical trauma setting , and I agree with you. In addition, I’ve never heard how he fell and was concussed earlier on. If he suffered a TIA then , it would explain this event more accurately. Tbh, he’s not fine. For his sake and that of his constituents, the prudent thing would be to step down and take it easy. Let somebody else take over. Grim Reaper indeed.
@@paulinemclean375 People like Mitch McConnell don’t know how to call it quits. Senator Feinstein is the same way…slowly decaying in the Senate, because they’ve grown so used to being there that they’re almost part of the woodwork. I’d include President Biden in that same group if he didn’t seem so healthy, but he seems quite healthy on visual inspection-and is already subject to term limits. I am firmly in favor of term limits: 2 consecutive terms (12 years) for Senators, 4 consecutive terms in the House (12 years), and a max term limit of 4 for Senators and 8 for the House. They can only serve 12 years consecutively before yielding to someone else, but can come back at a later date. The value of this is that House and Senate seniority would change regularly, allowing different people to run committees and such. I think there is a lot of stagnation in Congress, particularly in the Senate, but the same names keep popping up in the House, too. Melanie, do you want to know something that seems to be a secret these days? The US is not, has not, and will not be a Democracy. Yes, that is right, I said NOT a Democracy. The US is a Constitutional Federal Republic. The major difference between the 2 is that a Democracy is "of the people, by the people, for the Government" vs our system of Government that is "of the people, by the people, for the people". This is exactly why the Supreme Court has to step in constantly and over-rule laws or policies that the Government tries to make, as they do not conform to the US Constitution. The other fact is that a Democracy has NO protections for the minority; be it politics, ethnicity, age, gender, or any other category (hence why the Supreme Court has to intervene). Where as the US has a Constitution that guarantees protections for the minorities. The biggest threat to the US is people who are completely misinformed and uneducated, that try to convince others that we are a Democracy. Ever notice that the higher profile people who keep saying that "person X is a threat to Democracy" are the same people who visited Epstine's island multiple times?

We had a very similar experience. My grandmother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s but seemed to be relatively healthy. Then one day about two months into starting her medication, she fell. Suddenly the symptoms got dramatically worse, she started having hallucinations regularly, and she started losing all of her teeth. It was as if she aged 20 years in three months. Terrible thing to witness, and I can only imagine how terrifying it was for her. I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother.

I've never seen a transient ischemic attack live . . . so this was quite educational. It is recommended that people who have such attacks see a doctor within 24 hours, because they can signal the buildup of clots which can lead to a full blown stroke - and death. Depending on the type of attack, Mitch may not even remember the time he had this glitch.
Likely seizure and known about. I’m assuming that he was evaluated between the time of the initial symptoms and later when talking to reported. If tia/stroke was suspected on the evaluation, he would have been immediately shipped off. So this is likely a known issue and/or deemed to be a likely seizure.
That was a mini-stroke--a TIA. His fall previously that led to a concussion was most likely caused by a TIA as well. Falling in elderly people is usually related to mini-strokes. I know. I was a caregiver to my elderly parents and my grandmother for 17 years.
I’ve had serious brain trauma including two concussions which left me Epileptic. What he had is called an “absence seizure “. You just basically “zone out” for a period of time. You have no sense of reality or time. This can also trigger other seizures. It can be a very dangerous situation. Mine are under control. The man needs a complete neurological work up.
I'm right there with ya. Suffered a TBI in late 07, had a number of absence episodes before we got the right combination of meds. I've been under control now for 10 years.
My mum eventually got diagnosed with epilepsy after two grand mal seizures but we realised afterwards that she’d probably been having these absence seizures for far longer. Sometimes she’s just stare off for a while and couldn’t hear you. It was never for as long as what we witnessed on this video and she’d always brush it off as “daydreaming” when pressed. She now thinks she’s being having them since she was a teenager - her grand mal episodes didn’t occur until she was in her 40s and it’s rare for epilepsy to suddenly just show up like that at that age
Good for you , but with 81 years it’s time to retire with dignity . TIME LIMITS FOR ALL STARTING WITH THE SUPREME COURT, and that includes congress , senate and president . 70 tops
Hear he plans to continue his term, UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! It is WAY past time for term limits! At the very least these over the hill people need to be routinely tested for mental competence.
Who's coming up with these ideas? You realize that term limits, age limits, and competence tests would all require Constitutional amendments? It would have been SO much simpler for voters in Kentucky to prevent this problem back in November, 2020.
TIA - TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK A transient ischemic attack, also known as a “mini-stroke”, occurs when a blockage prevents blood flow to the brain for a very short time (minutes). It is important to understand that a TIA is a warning sign - getting the appropriate care at the time and making lifestyle changes can be life-saving. The symptoms of a TIA can be similar to a stroke, which is why it’s very important to call 911 and get immediate help.

This man is weak. He can’t face his own shit but then pokes fun at the sandbag. The sandbag was an “accident”. This guy is sick. Very sick. If not physically, he is beyond help regarding his own mental illness.
Elder abuse???? What are you even talking about? No one is in a position of power or authority over this guy and using their position to take advantage of or harm him? The entire issue here is that HE is the one with more power and influence over the lives of American citizens than he apparently posseses the ability to wield responsibly.
It’s time to hang it up Mitch. God bless!
It is absolutely absurd! Can these individuals in their 80's and 90's effectively govern our country? It is about time they step aside and give way to the younger generation and their innovative ideas. This situation exists within both political parties. We have reached a point where we can no longer tolerate it!🤦🏾♂️
I totally agre....except one thing.....Mitch`s older brother, sleepy Joe, `governs`.

The United States destroyed its economy in 2013, when Nuland was feeding pies on the Maidan in Ukraine. The coup in Ukraine is a red line for Russia. The USA knew that. By freezing Russia's money, the United States crossed the economic line. Now the whole world considers the USA to be robbers. The USA does not believe now, Americans are liars! Nobody needs a dollar now. Russia has started withdrawing from the International Monetary Fund and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Soon China, Brazil, India, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, and many countries in Africa and Latin America will follow Russia and withdraw from the International Monetary Fund and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. That's what Nuland and Biden did. The US economy will fall below the plinth.
It's pure Greed and power
Why 80s and 90s? Why not 70s? None of them should be in power beyond 65.

All of that being said, regardless of what actually happened, and as much as I don't like the man, I do hope he is seeing a doctor. Time to retire.

There needs to be an age and term limits for Congress and an age limit for the Supreme Court. Needs to be an age limit for the President. These people are hanging on too long for their own health and are out of touch anyway.

I've never seen a transient ischemic attack live . . . so this was quite educational. It is recommended that people who have such attacks see a doctor within 24 hours, because they can signal the buildup of clots which can lead to a full blown stroke - and death. Depending on the type of attack, Mitch may not even remember the time he had this glitch.
Could also be a petit mal seizure.
Yes, this.
If it’s a TIA, you need to get medical help within 3 hours.
Likely seizure and known about. I’m assuming that he was evaluated between the time of the initial symptoms and later when talking to reported. If tia/stroke was suspected on the evaluation, he would have been immediately shipped off.
So this is likely a known issue and/or deemed to be a likely seizure.
It was a mini stroke. My friend had one just like this.

That was a mini-stroke--a TIA. His fall previously that led to a concussion was most likely caused by a TIA as well. Falling in elderly people is usually related to mini-strokes. I know. I was a caregiver to my elderly parents and my grandmother for 17 years.
Good point about TIA's preceding falls.
Yeah, I immediately thought TIA
I’ve had serious brain trauma including two concussions which left me Epileptic. What he had is called an “absence seizure “. You just basically “zone out” for a period of time. You have no sense of reality or time. This can also trigger other seizures. It can be a very dangerous situation. Mine are under control. The man needs a complete neurological work up.
I'm right there with ya. Suffered a TBI in late 07, had a number of absence episodes before we got the right combination of meds. I've been under control now for 10 years.
Yep and a vascular workup too - could be a TIA. Ideally he needs to see a neurovascular physician.
Glad you’re all ok. Mine’s under control tooMy Neurologist does only Epilepsy and other seizure disorders. He’s a genius.

Politicians on both sides need to realize they’re not immortal. Step aside and be an advisor.
Lol are you fukin joking?
The guy is 81. Retire the guy and put him in a home!
He's no longer fit to stay in any power.
Why are there not term limits for all politicians?.❤
TIA - TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK
A transient ischemic attack, also known as a “mini-stroke”, occurs when a blockage prevents blood flow to the brain for a very short time (minutes).
It is important to understand that a TIA is a warning sign - getting the appropriate care at the time and making lifestyle changes can be life-saving. The symptoms of a TIA can be similar to a stroke, which is why it’s very important to call 911 and get immediate help.
Doesn't look like it. With a TIA one of the main symptoms is that part of the face/body/balance goes numb. That didn't happen with Mitch.
