      Unfortunately on both sides. Once upon a time it was Strom Thurmond. Now it's McConnell and Dianne Feinstein (who has been hurting her party). And Ruth Bader-Ginsberg, for all her brilliance and determination, ultimately let her narcissism and ego prevent her from stepping down and the result was that she left the country with Amy Coney Barrett. I already know that Republicans will rarely if ever put the country before themselves or their party. But I expect Democrats to do so.

      Seriously part of the issue with our country is that it is being ran by people closer to planning their funerals, past retirement age. While those in their 30s-50s who are screaming about the state of our country and inability to make a living are kept out by the boomers in charge. Anyone over 68 should need intense medical, including mental exams to run for office.

    I agree. I’m an ER nurse, used to run on ambulances, and my first two thoughts were either seizure or TIA (transient ischemic attack), commonly known as a “mini-stroke.” What differentiates a TIA from a CVA (cerebro-vascular accident) or stroke is that a “mini-stroke” produces symptoms that generally last less than an hour, and, crucially, resolve without any medical intervention. Stroke patients and their families often report such episodes happening before the one that brought them to the hospital. Its also important to note that TIAs can produce symptoms that look like an absence seizure: the symptoms depend on what part of the brain is affected.
    I’ve no doubt the Senator has in fact seen a doctor since this happened, and probably has had a head CT conducted as well.

    • @paulinemclean375
      @paulinemclean375 Год назад +7

      I also worked in a neurosurgical trauma setting , and I agree with you. In addition, I’ve never heard how he fell and was concussed earlier on. If he suffered a TIA then , it would explain this event more accurately. Tbh, he’s not fine. For his sake and that of his constituents, the prudent thing would be to step down and take it easy. Let somebody else take over. Grim Reaper indeed.

    • @cmconley33
      @cmconley33 Год назад +4

      @@paulinemclean375 People like Mitch McConnell don’t know how to call it quits. Senator Feinstein is the same way…slowly decaying in the Senate, because they’ve grown so used to being there that they’re almost part of the woodwork. I’d include President Biden in that same group if he didn’t seem so healthy, but he seems quite healthy on visual inspection-and is already subject to term limits. I am firmly in favor of term limits: 2 consecutive terms (12 years) for Senators, 4 consecutive terms in the House (12 years), and a max term limit of 4 for Senators and 8 for the House. They can only serve 12 years consecutively before yielding to someone else, but can come back at a later date.
      The value of this is that House and Senate seniority would change regularly, allowing different people to run committees and such. I think there is a lot of stagnation in Congress, particularly in the Senate, but the same names keep popping up in the House, too.
      And no more of this lifetime gold-plated health insurance at the taxpayers’ expense, even after you’ve retired. They all get payed plenty well enough to retire comfortably AND have the same expenses as the rest of us. I’ll pay for health insurance while they are in office-not after. I’m not a G*ddamned financial investment company.

Nobody needs a dollar now. Russia has started withdrawing from the International Monetary Fund and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Soon China, Brazil, India, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, and many countries in Africa and Latin America will follow Russia and withdraw from the International Monetary Fund and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Melanie, do you want to know something that seems to be a secret these days? The US is not, has not, and will not be a Democracy. Yes, that is right, I said NOT a Democracy. The US is a Constitutional Federal Republic. The major difference between the 2 is that a Democracy is "of the people, by the people, for the Government" vs our system of Government that is "of the people, by the people, for the people". This is exactly why the Supreme Court has to step in constantly and over-rule laws or policies that the Government tries to make, as they do not conform to the US Constitution.
      The other fact is that a Democracy has NO protections for the minority; be it politics, ethnicity, age, gender, or any other category (hence why the Supreme Court has to intervene). Where as the US has a Constitution that guarantees protections for the minorities.
      The biggest threat to the US is people who are completely misinformed and uneducated, that try to convince others that we are a Democracy. Ever notice that the higher profile people who keep saying that "person X is a threat to Democracy" are the same people who visited Epstine's island multiple times?

    I've never seen a transient ischemic attack live . . . so this was quite educational. It is recommended that people who have such attacks see a doctor within 24 hours, because they can signal the buildup of clots which can lead to a full blown stroke - and death. Depending on the type of attack, Mitch may not even remember the time he had this glitch.

      Likely seizure and known about. I’m assuming that he was evaluated between the time of the initial symptoms and later when talking to reported. If tia/stroke was suspected on the evaluation, he would have been immediately shipped off.
      So this is likely a known issue and/or deemed to be a likely seizure.

    That was a mini-stroke--a TIA. His fall previously that led to a concussion was most likely caused by a TIA as well. Falling in elderly people is usually related to mini-strokes. I know. I was a caregiver to my elderly parents and my grandmother for 17 years.

    I’ve had serious brain trauma including two concussions which left me Epileptic. What he had is called an “absence seizure “. You just basically “zone out” for a period of time. You have no sense of reality or time. This can also trigger other seizures. It can be a very dangerous situation. Mine are under control. The man needs a complete neurological work up.

      My mum eventually got diagnosed with epilepsy after two grand mal seizures but we realised afterwards that she’d probably been having these absence seizures for far longer. Sometimes she’s just stare off for a while and couldn’t hear you. It was never for as long as what we witnessed on this video and she’d always brush it off as “daydreaming” when pressed. She now thinks she’s being having them since she was a teenager - her grand mal episodes didn’t occur until she was in her 40s and it’s rare for epilepsy to suddenly just show up like that at that age

    TIA - TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK
    A transient ischemic attack, also known as a “mini-stroke”, occurs when a blockage prevents blood flow to the brain for a very short time (minutes).
    It is important to understand that a TIA is a warning sign - getting the appropriate care at the time and making lifestyle changes can be life-saving. The symptoms of a TIA can be similar to a stroke, which is why it’s very important to call 911 and get immediate help.
