I have always felt a strong connection to Miryam and didn’t understand why. Thank you for helping me solve this mystery. 😊

23:54 my understanding was that there was some kind of rivary going on and that is why Moshe decided to not listen to HaShem…eg they complained to him and said something like: I betcha cant get water from that rock…so he went over to speak to the rock they indicated (not the one HaShem told him about) in order to try and stick up for HaShem so to speak

24:25 my understanding is that you should not say “they” bc Moshe was commanded to get the water. Aaron was punished bc he should have told Moshe to stop and go to the correct rock.

Why can we NOT teach future generations about Moses’s stories? You do not need religion to find our creator. The Bible is also a book written by a man in a man’s words. I understand people “want” to believe they are in Gods but, it is hearsay. Fantastical hearsay. I believed in a creator before my parents ever introduced it to me. People have believed before we ever left our caves.

No, the rock is symbolic of Gods authority. Its not symbolic of the people.
The people are "downstream" from Hashems holy authority figures.
He said "why didnt you keep Me holy in the eyes of the people" not "why didnt you be nice to the people according to their definition of nice?"
