Hey everyone, thank you for responding and sharing your feelings. I am surprised and inspired at the level of response and I appreciate you all very much. You are the best.
I would watch as many ads as necessary to get to your content. As a student repairman, your knowledge and experience is priceless and I consider us very fortunate to be able to learn from your teachings for free. Keep on doing what you love and we will be here for the videos as they come.
You are one of the greatest resources available to people like me -a decades long player and a woodwind tech You set the bar for me on so many aspects of repair. If I were affluent I would beg you to do my personal horns so I could enjoy them and learn more about saxophones by having my hands on them. Your integrity is amazing please do whatever you have to to continue. The content is worth anything else we have to endure.
You’ve been an amazing resource for me. I’m a full time teacher, aspiring repairman, and also dad of 2 kids. I don’t have a lot of time to invest into learning more (I’d love to go to redwing or somewhere but when ?!!) so learning something here or there from you or being able to look up what I knew I saw you do one time is a priceless resource. I’ll watch your videos ads or no and wont fault you for the bad choices google makes. Everyone knows they’re horrible when it comes to ads and wanting to track all your data. I’ll probably be on the RUclips premium train like you pretty soon as well.
You have given me more insight in repair then any other single forum or videos with good details and explanations thank you so much for helping me understand what i was doing as i got to repairing my personal sax. Yt will be yt but i know im not alone when i say that your videos have been very helpful 😊
I've had RUclips premium for years because I originally was paying for Google Music before Google bought RUclips. I'm often kind of shocked when I'm at someone else's house and they put something on RUclips and it's full of ad breaks.
I really enjoy watching your videos and learn a lot about a subject I love, saxophones. About an hour before watching this video my friend and instrument repair technician, Ross Steidinger, stopped by and picked up my mark VI soprano for a tune up. We complained about the high price of instruments and the lack of music stores on the west coast, the rising cost of parts for instruments and the high cost of going out to dinner. But the fact is we were both glad to be feeling healthy and happy living by the beach in our 70s. Life is short. Enjoy the simple things of family and friends. Doing your job the best you can and overcoming adversity. From the videos it looks like your doing a great job Matt. Thanks for thinking of your viewers.
I’d watch your videos regardless of the advertising content RUclips decides to inject them with, and I know I’m not alone in that sentiment. Your videos are always incredibly informative, engaging, and worthwhile. I have no doubt that even as the content creator landscape changes, your audience will remain.
Thank you for your videos I am in Brazil and learnt a lot with them. Thanks for sharing your experience and a lot of good and useful information with us
Firstly let me say I love all your videos and find them a great resource for sax repair.I go on many different sights and have noticed that a lot now have these non skip ads but they seem to be of very short duration maybe 3 or 4 seconds that are immediately followed by a skippable ad so I think that the change may not be as big an inconvenience to people who want to follow you as you might imagine and I am sure people like myself will always continue to enjoy watching your excellent videos so please keep on posting
Love your work! As a player I think its super important to learn about how your instrument works, and this is probably the best resource out there for that 😊 A couple ads aren't gonna stop me from enjoying it, they're just the way of the modern internet. Keep up the good work!
No Matt, you'll always be young to me! Don't worry about the ads (or not), your videos are worth sitting through any number of them if necessary. Anyone who posts "vintage selmer zipper sound" is too special to lose!
I feel you man. Those of us who remember the pre-internet world, long for the days of accountability, reality and content made by people with real skills.
Thanks for the heads up, I enjoy the gifts you offer of interesting saxophone videos, but I have no solution for corporations that increase their profits to the point of making their platform's unusable. I'd call it corporate greed, but they'd call it good business. In a free market, I suppose someone else will come along with a better platform. I don't use ebay anymore, they got too greedy for me.
I have had yt Premium for a long time. Its value is declining. Because of yt policy changes, many of the creators that I follow are opting to embed their own ads, which Premium does not remove. It's frustrating. #@$%&* you, Google. Matt, I thank you for everything you do. With your help i have resurrected a number of saxes that otherwise would have been lost to the dreaded "for parts only" class.
I would be more than willing to watch ads if you decided you wanted to monetize more, regardless of it being necessary for the channel. The information provided is more than worth watching 30 seconds of ads maximum, and most ads are skippable anyway. Don't worry man, seeing the comments a lot of people support you regardless.
My first thought is whether a reed manufacturer or a horn manufacturer would sponsor your video, allowing you to run your own commercial in your video, and not attach youtube adds. I see other channels do that.
I don’t think there’s a good reason to avoid making money on RUclips. If you make more money, you have an incentive to make more videos. And I’m pleased if you make money. Everyone wins.

Man I will continue watching your vids to kingdom come. Ads are no ads, your content is great
There seems to be a theme with all things internet…things are always changing, and they change for the worse.
Wicked minds at work.
Please just continue the way you have been doing these videos, they are so much appreciated. I don't mind getting some ads now and then
I hope you continue Matt! Your knowledge has really helped me with my own sax.

Thanks for all you do. I’m a premium subscriber but appreciate your thoughts on this.
I always enjoy your videos, Matt. They're a reference source.
I think I've probably watched most of your videos now. So I'm just going to keep watching, even with more ads.

Thanks for the explanation. A few ads won’t hurt
Just a fact of You Tube life
Love your videos. Keep going!!!
Thank you!!
I have been watching RUclips since the very beginning. In my experience, every change since Google bought yt has been for the worse.
